- Wondermaker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+42The people that recognize Aung San Suu Kyi as their rightful leader still call it Burma.
- forumz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+44I think it's a great message he's promoting...
but no matter what he does I can't help but see him as Lloyd Christmas. - gl77, on 03/31/2008, -11/+47keep waiting for him to bust out in a hilarious facial expression.......didnt deliver....
- xutopia, on 10/10/2007, -0/+36You should see him in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He's serious aside from two funny moments and honestly he's an amazing actor!
- Xtopherous, on 10/10/2007, -1/+35You most likely know it as Myanmar, but it will always be Burma to me.
- feshmania, on 10/10/2007, -3/+34i really, really tried. but just his voice (and early-90s grunge band hair) make me giggle.
but, yea, good message. - 68024, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23...icle
- C00001, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21Actually, it's still Burma if you don't support the military government that took over and changed the name.
But if you're down with mass murder and rape and torture and imprisoning Nobel Peace Prize winners, and other things like that--then yeah, it's Myanmar. - UglieJosh, on 10/10/2007, -2/+20The Truman Show is one of the most overlooked great movies of our time.
- johngarcia, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19Why is everyone wishing he would say something funny? Can he not just be a real person? Does he really HAVE to be Ace Ventura or Lloyd Christmas?
- Erroneus, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Funny... did you even take the time to see the video or did you just asume it was a prank since Jim was in the video? I guess the latter.
- Predater, on 10/10/2007, -3/+18COME ON!!! WE ARE SENDING RAMBO TO BURMA GOD DAMMIT!!! JUST HOLD ON A BIT LONGER

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? - shorty9, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8More about Aung San Suu Kyi and Myanmar/Burma

- Darkside2984, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I wonder if getting the Iraq maps to south africa might help this.
- slantyeyed, on 10/10/2007, -7/+12Shouldn't we help the homeless in this country first?
- Osjpr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5So it's the United States of Myanmar then?
- ynggrsshppr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Thank you for posting this video up. I'm surprised that Burma doesn't get more media coverage considering their state of affairs. I'm equally surprised the US doesn't take stricter measures against the military government. If we truly support "democracy" and "freedom" surely we should be helping these people instead of blowing things up/getting blown up in Iraq.
- ichoudhury, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5You should also know that the same ragime butured hundreds and thousands of Rohingya People in Burma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohingya) . and caused them to flee their homeland and become refugee in neighboring country (such as Bangladesh) which already suffering from major economic depression for years! I guess nobody really care because its just too damn far (also, too many mountains) .... or perhaps nobody want to wake up the sleeping Dragon that guards it (China).
- MikeonTV, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I was watching with my fingers crossed saying to my self over and over "please say something funny, please say something funny."
- bortis, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5It would seem that the rest of us might benefit from knowing more about this "house wife" (as she was dismissively termed by Burma's Ambassador..)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aung_San_Suu_Kyi - 10nacity, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Earlier in January, the U.S. proposed a resolution in front of the UN Security Council for Burma's ongoing violations of human rights. It was voted 9-3 in favor to resolve, but two of the 3 rejecting votes came as vetoes from Russia and China, the two major trade partners of the junta in power. Thus the proposal was killed on the floor and no action was taken. Double vetoes are said to be very rare but in this case are believed to be bought.

- jstohler, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Can't we do more than one good thing at a time?
- Hermitwise, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I liked the Majestic and he was good in 23 but the plot was way too obvious in 23.
- zdiggler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I"m from Burma, I was in 8.9.88 protest where we got shot at by our own government and run for my life. I think it was worst then what happen in China which happens after what happened in Burma and got all the media coverage.
- Scarfy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the only movie that needs to be mentioned. He did and amazing job in that movie and really proved himself to be a versatile actor.
- touchguitar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3"It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it."
-Aung San Suu Kyi - masterkenobi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2@grifmcrenolds: spoken like a true republican.
- DevlinD, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Myanmar is an absolutely wonderful country and the people there are a wonderful example of not judging a country by its government. In the town of Bagan I had the opportunity drive past the local headquarters for the National League of Democracy (NLD) which is the party Aung San Suu Kyi is affiliated with. However the only thing you see at this location is a building that looks like it is not fit to house even the lowest of the low. The sign outside still stands but the building itself looks like a bulldozer ran through it and then was set on fire. Even stopping to take a picture of this our driver warned us to keep our camera inside the car for fear that the police would see.
The madness in that country seriously must stop, no way people that open, honest, and friendly should deserve to be under the iron fist of a brutal military dictatorship. Gee I wonder why the US doesn't step in.....right....no oil....oh well. - techmonkey4u, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Unfortunately, if we held in our consciousness this so-called 'awareness' about every injustice, disease, and undesirable condition/environment on the planet, we would have no room for anything else. Personally, I don't know where we would start to prioritize amongst all the bumper stickers, bracelets, youtube videos, web petitions, and all the various campaigns. I guess we're only human.. which, incidentally, is the cause for 99% of the things we should be aware of.
/no real point. - monkeyrun, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2He's right ... but I was expecting a SNL sketch or something :P
- joot2112, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Simple answer: "nothing" in it for "us". Does anyone still believe the war in Iraq has something to do with human rights? Besides, I don't think any country wants to get the same treatment as Iraq.
- Sherazard, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The generals who ***** up Burma 'named it' Myanmar.
Burma always and forever. - willcoll, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2hahaha, everything that guy says is comedy gold
- ziffel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Is that how you want people to react if you get locked up unjustly?
- dosterm, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I so thought I was going to get Bel-Air'd.
- druidic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Is it just me or did it seem like he was about to say "1.5 BILLION" instead of "1.5 million"?
- k3nshady89, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Dont worry John Rambo will take care with this issue in his upcoming film. :)
- clubmasta2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1We did more for Iraq, why not give this country the same treatment?
- ahawks, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dude, 31 characters in your comment... so close to being 23 backwards. I'll assume it was a typo and you know an ellipse is 3 periods, and not 2, so it would be 32. ... "3 and not 2" ... 32 again.
- pimpbot1979, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1she's beautiful
- stimpack, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Because they have no oil and Israel doesn't want them destroyed.
- GuyeNoir, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2He'll always be Ace Ventura Pet Detective in my mind's eye.
- knowyourrights, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2The homeless in this country (US) don't want help, the majority of them want to be homeless and it is a preferred choice of life. I'm not ***** you, go look it up.
- centran, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Some of the displaced families who are homeless is terrible and yes we should help them.
However, a lot of the homeless so consciously choose to be homeless and others don't want to be homeless but it fits their drug/alcohol lifestyle. -
