- williemain, on 05/11/2009, -0/+21I wonder if Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger have anything to do with this.
- inactive, on 05/11/2009, -0/+15I wonder how's that possible that's because there are certain reasons behind twin birth & they are pretty rare occurrences like
1) when two ovum are fertilized at the same time.
2) fertilized ovum gets broken into 2 pieces & get attached to different places in uterus.
These are really rare things & apart from that the main reason why I astonished is demography has nothing to do it. & such a smal village doesn't even form a particular demographic( differntiated) area. - smilingcandle, on 05/11/2009, -1/+13lol...so many twins..amusing in a strange way! What makes it a lot interesting is the reason speculated for twinning, which is the food habits of the villagers.
- presidentraygun, on 05/11/2009, -0/+12Maybe, it's just a glitch in the matrix.
- oriqin, on 05/11/2009, -2/+12could it have anything to do with: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southame ...
- ZimbuTheMonkey, on 05/11/2009, -2/+8Yikes.
This guy doesn't represent us. - yashicak, on 05/11/2009, -1/+7Very interesting. How it could be?
- aplato, on 05/11/2009, -0/+5That's what I was wondering
- willhirsch, on 05/11/2009, -0/+4It's almost as if there seems to be a whole lot of people in India...
- MOJIRA, on 05/11/2009, -1/+5No pedobear, these children are brown. That's just wrong.
- miketest, on 05/11/2009, -2/+5Ahha, so this village is the reason behind India's growing population.
- novenator, on 05/11/2009, -2/+5What a cool biological curiosity.
- moxley, on 05/11/2009, -0/+3Hmmm...Did Mengele ever make it over there?
- drastik21, on 05/11/2009, -0/+2Twiz didn't say they were exclusive to one country.
- MOJIRA, on 05/11/2009, -1/+3Inbreeding amongst their small village and passing along a genetic predisposition to parent twins?
I don't see how having twins could have an evolutionary benefit in that geographic region (or an geographic region). - lazyrussian, on 05/11/2009, -0/+2This reminds me of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, sepcifically the fifth book, Wolves of the Calla. Anyone who's read it will understand :)
- somnus, on 05/11/2009, -0/+2Thanks, very interesting article =D
- bmcnally, on 05/11/2009, -0/+2Why did I just click those?
- Homerr, on 05/11/2009, -0/+2This village is just going for the Guinness record.
- CommyMarx, on 05/11/2009, -0/+2Wonder if there are any roont ones
- meson2k, on 06/24/2009, -0/+2Did you know India has 1 billion people? Probability B!tches!
- Windfish, on 05/11/2009, -1/+2I reckon they're tricking us. They've just dressed up a load of kids who look similar in matching outfits and we can't tell the difference because Indians all look the same.
- grandhi, on 05/12/2009, -0/+1in a country with such a huge population, anything like this possible.
- inactive, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1Its simply amazing.. That may be due to some genetic reasons along with the climate and food habits of that region.
- ortucis, on 05/12/2009, -0/+1No but you have the post necessary to be blocked.. as far as I am concerned of course.
- iHeartCamels, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1I would love to do the Case-control study in the village and see what turns up
- EMGroup, on 05/11/2009, -2/+3Indians have evolved to the point where they are already predisposed to replicating the children they expect to lose to famine, disease, and a dangerous environment.
- pauliusuza, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1Cloning Vats
- upick, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1Someone point me to the right village? I'm looking to have twins of my own
- ilovestospooge, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1Twin Enthusiast?
WTF? - inactive, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1Probably has something to do with the pharmaceutical company up the river.
- clarient, on 05/11/2009, -0/+1You might say he was a twinthusiast.
- PaulClayberg, on 05/11/2009, -2/+2As an identical twin myself, I find it HIGHLY annoying when parents dress their twins exactly alike when they take them out, as if to make a show of confusing them. "Oh, oops, I forgot which one's which! Oh, dear, those identical twins! *nudge nudge*"
- dclowd9901, on 05/11/2009, -1/+1God willed it! Duh.
- zombiecarlin, on 05/11/2009, -2/+2Unsurprising considering each family has about 40 kids all of whom want to move to America.
- twiztidsinz, on 05/11/2009, -2/+2There seems to be a whole lot of genetic anomalies in India...
Girl with two faces: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/apr/07/india
Girl with 4 Arms/4 Legs: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article4 ... - willhirsch, on 05/11/2009, -1/+1Somebody didn't read the article. Apparently it's unlikely to be genetic.
- calidin, on 05/11/2009, -0/+0If there's an unusually high mortality rate through things such as disease, war, or an otherwise hostile environment then having twins would help the population survive.
Now, if you have a problem with famine or drought then this is nature's demonstration of irony. - willhirsch, on 05/11/2009, -0/+0Or, if you read the article, probably just the latter.
- Farret, on 05/11/2009, -1/+1Twins Basel... Twins!
- bigteebo, on 05/11/2009, -2/+1Nadia Suluban...NO...NO......
- smaskat, on 05/11/2009, -2/+1Couple more years and they will have the workforce necessary for another call center.
- fourhead, on 05/11/2009, -1/+0You do it twice in less than 30 minutes.
- InLovewithPeace, on 05/12/2009, -1/+0the irony of evolution and nature
- bingbongosu, on 05/11/2009, -2/+1All of those twins might be brain food for the Wolves of the Calla
- InLovewithPeace, on 05/12/2009, -1/+0we have a lot of twins in my family as well....I have heard that many people have a twin that most likely died in the womb....that is another medical mystery too...
- LeepII, on 05/11/2009, -2/+1It only started 60-70 years ago.... Atomic testing anyone?
- anant4757, on 05/11/2009, -1/+0rvrf
- InLovewithPeace, on 05/12/2009, -1/+0i agreed
