- lordenlil, on 04/05/2008, -1/+58And I quote: "He was instructed by voices to eat a steel needle which he did on May 11, 1948. It was surgically removed on May 13, 1948. Ten days later he lay down on a bed and apparently was in a trance-like state for the next three days. After that he was pronounced dead." -Wikipedia.
- DarkerMaster, on 04/05/2008, -5/+44Because He was Already Dead!!!

- getrealnow, on 04/05/2008, -0/+26"Hanging around pubs he made money by letting people pierce his body with "dagger-like objects." Also he swallowed glass and razor blades." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirin_Dajo
What a badass - jameshighmore, on 04/05/2008, -3/+27"As he saw it people should abandon the materialistic world view and accept there was a higher force, the Source."
False alarm people, he's just a character invented by Valve's marketing team. - patho, on 04/05/2008, -1/+20I'm glad Data Girl used her compact discs to solve the case.
- dougdiggerton, on 04/05/2008, -2/+18i'd like to see chris angel try that.. coward.
- inactive, on 04/05/2008, -1/+17that was really weird...what would motivate an individual to do something like that?
- hideon9, on 04/05/2008, -0/+13That's just an example of "pulling", related to (relatively common) suspension, and is completely different from what's shown in this video.
The hooks used in pulling and suspension typically only pass through skin. Skin on the back is particularly thick and strong and 2 hooks can easily hold a person's weight and more. There's absolutely nothing paranormal about it.
Sticking a hook through a couple inches of skin is not the same as passing a skewer through your entire body. - getrealnow, on 04/05/2008, -0/+12here you go! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirin_Dajo

"Doctor Saw, a lady who knows everything about organs". - hideon9, on 04/05/2008, -0/+10Sometimes I think the whole purpose of the internet is to make people wander "wtf, why would you do that?" as often as possible.
- ofathens, on 04/05/2008, -1/+11never mind, digg me down, i was wrong after another look. the blade does get longer on the other side as his assistant pushes it, it's just hard to see. (i tried to remove the comment, but digg told me it didn't exist.)

- Singularitarian, on 04/05/2008, -0/+6Does anyone think we can trust a single word of what a magician tells us about how a magic trick works?
- GeyserShitdick, on 04/05/2008, -1/+6I have a similar technique for preventing my gums from bleeding at the dentist's. It's called brushing twice a day.
- Jerryskid02, on 04/06/2008, -0/+5I know we couldn't hear any sound from those clips of him...but I'm pretty sure Final Countdown was playing in the background.
- globaldigger, on 04/05/2008, -0/+5This is incredible stuff...really!
- kingtaj, on 04/05/2008, -0/+4Doc, I've got this stabbing pain in my side. Well, both sides actually.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Oh, he'd do it. It'd just be incredibly easy to spot CG.
- WhereAmI, on 04/05/2008, -0/+4The mustache ruins it.

The more time I spend on that site the more I'm impressed by how much the human body can withstand. - Xoti, on 04/05/2008, -1/+4By the looks of him,he looks dry'd out of blood...
or hes related to Chuck Norris - samadam, on 04/05/2008, -0/+3it looked like he was surrounded by press and maybe scientists. I doubt they would have not noticed something like that.
- calon9, on 04/05/2008, -6/+9I love British accents... when spoken slowly by attractive women.
- inactive, on 04/06/2008, -0/+3pssh. that's nothing.
This is video of a girl hanging entirely from a single hook in her chest:

( I Know I Will :), that's way to awesome not to do) - CJD2, on 04/05/2008, -1/+3dug for the blonde babe
- ej1oo1, on 04/05/2008, -1/+3truly incredible i never would have believed the was humanly possible until i seen the explanation. i don't quite understand any motives to make someone do that but it still amazes me that its possible.
- series0ftubes, on 04/06/2008, -0/+2Old man from six flags?
- blindmonkey, on 04/05/2008, -0/+2Maybe because it's not a link to 60 minutes?

the language and the people have the same name... - audioscience, on 04/05/2008, -0/+2It's an illusion, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money... or candy!
- dwninjungleland, on 04/05/2008, -0/+2Maybe he used the Sword of Destiny!!!
- blindmonkey, on 04/05/2008, -1/+3I think that what he meant was that the guy used a different technique than what you're saying. It is possible that hypnosis had something to do with it, but it wasn't mentioned in the video at all. It's not the theory that was presented in the video.
- BrandonSh, on 04/06/2008, -0/+2the BME Pain Olympics
- inactive, on 04/06/2008, -0/+2That audience *was* and independent team of medical doctors, and they *did* examine him.
The fistula explanation in no way "flies directly in the face of science". -
