- fr3ddie, on 07/14/2008, -210/+786I think any consensual relationship is completely harmless.
- SaladCactusKing, on 07/15/2008, -33/+510Ew, Don't ***** your siblings, that's gross.
Save incest for your hot cousin when you're drunk. - yaosio, on 07/15/2008, -49/+499No pictures means she's fat and ugly.

- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -9/+323Hmm, sisterS. Incestuous threesomes ahoy.
- daRoach, on 07/15/2008, -10/+260That's what I told the judge!
- whaught, on 07/14/2008, -43/+282Cept incest babies tend to have defects. Without enough variation in the combined genomes too many repressive genes get expressed in the children or something like that. So in that way it could be harmful.

- Rhendal, on 07/15/2008, -44/+249"Not many people understand their relationship, she says."
Nope, can't say I do either. - inactive, on 07/15/2008, -52/+253If it's consensual and responsible, a brother and sister can do their granny and their mum all simultaneously behind closed doors for all I give a *****. People should be free to decide what they wish to do with other people who are in agreement with them, as long as they do it in their own private space and time, and as long as their actions do not negatively affect the world around them in an obvious way.
I really can't see anything highly negative in their actions as pertaining to me and others. Where you stick your dick or what you put in your vagina is not going to affect me unless you make it your mission to make it affect someone.
Live free and die free, ***** the powers that be, but respect your fellow man above all.
- rabidg00se, on 07/15/2008, -4/+199but it's all wincest.
- BestJaxx, on 07/15/2008, -2/+196Go ***** yourself?
- JCPahl, on 07/15/2008, -4/+191Ladies and gentlemen, the argument against incest.
- jun2san, on 07/15/2008, -10/+186I can only allow this if she's hot. Otherwise....THIS IS JUST WRONG!!
- unnes, on 07/14/2008, -43/+219The risk of a hereditary recessive condition is higher in children of blood relatives, but in this day and age of advanced medicine and prenatal testing, it's certainly not high enough to be an issue. The arguments against incest are based on ethics, morals, and cultural taboos, not science.
The child of a brother and sister will likely be far more at risk of social ostracism and awkwardness as a result of his parentage than being at risk for any significant medical condition. - papastout, on 07/14/2008, -24/+194I remember my next door neighbors when I was about 15, brother and sister experiemnting with sex. I first associated the word taboo with it, then I pondered it some more as I got older and thought just as this article speaks - it's like practicing your social skills on your family.
Though I have to say the long-term effects of such a relationship can probably be the one big con against a list of pros. - IronPwnage, on 07/15/2008, -19/+183Wincest.
- sockpuppets, on 07/15/2008, -8/+172What if you were a narcissistic gay twin?
- rearlgrant, on 07/15/2008, -19/+156Given there's been no abuse, when our brains are tied to something like the incest taboo, our brains do not have the circuits to understand why anyone would consider such an event as a positive experience.
I'm familiar with research about this in a different area, separating (or not-separating, more precisely) conjoined twins. The collective wisdom is that these people must be separated b/c they must want to be separated. Generally, conjoined twins don't want to be separated and they explain their joined existence using language that sounds "new agy" and dismissed as "crazy." Once separated, conjoined twins seem to have difficulty accepting ever having been connected with another, and thus we believe that separation is the correct thing to do regardless of what conjoined twins say. A long book on the subject is "One of Us" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0674018257. A shorter version is in Daniel Gilbert's second chapter of "Stumbling on Happiness."
Like Thclife (oh... now I get it, kewl), I'm an only child. One of the things I have in my journals to think about at some point is this -- A statistically significant number of siblings I've become good friends with talk about a sexual experimentation experience with another sibling. I think most siblings would rather fight with each other than get frisky, but I think some of what is described in this article is more common than we care to acknowledge. I am convinced we don't know enough about the psychology of this due to the "ick" factor.
And there is something to the "mutant children" bit... DNA isn't meant to replicate with close copies. - pyrophire, on 07/15/2008, -6/+135What the jeff? Seriously? You know we wont tell if you curse on the internet.
- mattlohkamp, on 07/15/2008, -7/+133*yawn*
incest < twincest - bincoder, on 07/15/2008, -26/+152whatever floats your boat, sometimes cousins are fun too!
- captnkurt, on 07/15/2008, -3/+123I'm alright with it. If it was good enough for Uncle Dad and Aunt Mom, it's good enough for me and my sister.
- Branbot, on 07/15/2008, -33/+150It's like practicing social skills on your family? You're an only child aren't you? Even the presence of my sister anywhere near those types of thoughts makes me want to die a little inside. I have a good relationship with my sister and she is a beautiful girl but no thanks, I don't care how they try to justify it, that ***** goes against some kind of laws of nature.
- wonderbriefs, on 07/15/2008, -47/+147This is just creepy. I grew up with four older sisters, one that was a year and a half older, the next three years, the next six years, and the next twelve years older. As we grew I recognized that my sisters were generally pretty but I could never really see there being any kind of sexual attraction. I think it's even because of the fact that they're mostly tall and blond that I prefer petite brunettes. If you ask me, the woman who wrote this is a bit strange. I think that she probably has very low self-respect and seeks out sexual gratification in most relationships, especially when inappropriate.
- inactive, on 07/15/2008, -2/+101It's like the anti-gay, pro-lesbian argument.
- redrock34, on 07/15/2008, -11/+103Stop spreading the idea that I shouldn't force my own ideological views onto another person!
- Clodhopper, on 07/15/2008, -5/+94Red Forman: I'm not raising any 'flipper' grandkids!
- reKONG, on 07/15/2008, -17/+103alright, im not blood related to my sister, and i still find this very weird. 'practising social skills on your family' what the jeff is that about?
- mattlohkamp, on 07/15/2008, -25/+105it amazes me how uncomfortable people are with cultural taboos - you're so disturbed by it that you can't even think about it, and you cope by making fun of her. Real mature.
- doctordbx, on 07/15/2008, -20/+98***** that. It's like having a female flatmate.
***** the flatmate, and you ***** one girl, ***** only her friends and you have limitless supply.
I'm sure the same theories work with sisters. - focom, on 07/15/2008, -6/+82Well, it's pretty clear that she wants to remain, anonymous, so..
- ICSU, on 07/15/2008, -15/+86Only if your sibling is ugly.

Pics nao! - BritishGolgo13, on 07/15/2008, -1/+64My name is Jeff and I do not approve usage of my name being an internet curse word.
- Zippo, on 07/15/2008, -9/+71The problem is that, in the majority of cases, incest comes from abusive relationships. It's very rarely completely consensual.
Although it's a little creepy to me, I suppose that, if it were completely consensual and they lead healthy, normal lives, who are we to judge? - jamie191817, on 07/15/2008, -8/+70well, i guess this would solve any problems with the mother in law.
- aussiessuck, on 07/15/2008, -8/+69I'm totally forwarding this article to my sister...
