- maddla, on 01/25/2008, -13/+773I'm sorry, but if my 13 year old daughter was being held with a knife to her throat, there is nothing else that matters in the world except to save her, even if it results in my death.
He did the only thing that's right! - kidlax, on 01/25/2008, -4/+513Wow stabbed 3 times in the head. Either my understanding of being stabbed is skewed or this guy is invincible. Good on him.
- jquipp, on 01/25/2008, -5/+427There is nothing a father would not do to protect his family..he's a hero.
- unearth, on 01/25/2008, -8/+424Note to self: Have that man's daughter back before curfew.
- DeskFlyer, on 01/25/2008, -7/+344Dude's hardcore.
- saiyanate, on 01/25/2008, -88/+419When guns are criminalized, only the criminals have guns.
- khail250, on 01/25/2008, -17/+234the ***** is wrong with the world?
- CTK14A, on 01/25/2008, -12/+218...Peter Griffin?
- JLecker, on 01/25/2008, -6/+209He's got balls of steel.
- iceman0113, on 01/25/2008, -3/+182That's gonna be one hell of a bar story.
- doitintheroad, on 01/25/2008, -4/+138Bruce Willis would be proud.
- Joshuarr, on 01/25/2008, -1/+128There's a lot of bone in the head area. I imagine the wounds did not penetrate the skull. Kinda weird place to try to stab someone, actually.
- sockpuppets, on 01/25/2008, -27/+126Well, it all started when a retarded frog squirrel decided to have buttsex with a squirrel or something and made a retard frog squirrel....
- JoshDaFink, on 01/25/2008, -1/+85I wouldn't be able to take on even a single three-armed burglar!
- UbIwerks, on 01/25/2008, -0/+84I prefer the hot iron on the doorknob, paint cans swinging down the staircase, christmas ornaments by the window.
- MJDub, on 01/25/2008, -0/+80It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
- thecosmicpope, on 01/25/2008, -4/+83Maybe he was uber-charged.
- Hellman109, on 01/25/2008, -4/+79That takes some balls to do, what a legend!
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -1/+66paypal that man a beer
- jsd8cc, on 01/25/2008, -6/+65Imitation firemen can be deadly if used improperly. Those fake hoses can shoot water upwards of 300 psi.
- NSResponder, on 01/25/2008, -2/+56There are two regrettable things about this story. 1) that Mr. Dwyer was injured, and 2) that the perps survived the crime.
-jcr - unearth, on 01/25/2008, -5/+58Land mines.
- NSResponder, on 01/25/2008, -0/+53"the ***** is wrong with the world?"
A bit less is wrong with the world than I though before reading that article. Mr. Dwyer is man to emulate.
-jcr - Ajajadude, on 01/25/2008, -7/+59They were charged with the possession of an "imitation fireman with intent." That leads me to believe that they had no real gun, otherwise they would have done more to the guy than stab and beat him when he fought back.
- UbIwerks, on 01/25/2008, -0/+50The skull's roughly the strength of a coconut. Tough to stab, but DANG that would sting!
- sockpuppets, on 01/25/2008, -5/+55Oh shut the ***** up.
- fxu1989, on 01/25/2008, -9/+52SHE'S 14 YEARS OLD MAN!
In other words ... good2go - Uarefat, on 01/25/2008, -2/+44BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLS OF STEEL
- GrubFisher, on 01/25/2008, -1/+43His idea was they were going to kill them both anyway. Like he said, he'd rather die like a man than like a dog.
- Velnich, on 01/25/2008, -7/+48I'm glad it worked out for him, but if they already had a knife to her throat... he gambled big.
- techlyc, on 01/25/2008, -0/+40Apparently, a skull made of similar material too.
- Aleut, on 01/25/2008, -1/+41I respect his courage, but he's lucky the perpetrators were inept. It was 3 against 1 (assuming his kids didn't chip in), with all three of the intruders apparently armed. He got stabbed three times... in the head. If he had been stabbed (substantially) just about anywhere else, he would've been out of commission pretty quickly. Then he somehow managed to wrest a gun away from one of them. I guess they really must not have seen it coming.
- thotpoizn, on 01/25/2008, -10/+49Indeed - although this article is clearly a hoax. The whole story supposedly took place in London, and involves armed robbery. And as everybody knows, there are no more guns in London - certainly not in the hands of criminals, and CERTAINLY not in the hands of hoodlums preying on innocent, unarmed families like a bunch of foxes in the hen house! Don't the idiots at the Daily Mail know all this?
- babar77, on 01/25/2008, -4/+41No he didn't, they beat him after he was compliant. The fact that they killed others said he was spot on in his assessment.
I was robbed once at gun point while I was a manager at a fast food restaurant. I could go into the details, but I was told later by the detective working the case said to train all your employees to pick a different exit and run next time someone tries to round up everyone together by gunpoint. Create as much chaos as you can. If the person came in looking to shoot and kill, everyone's chance of survival goes up by orders of magnitude when the assailant is firing in panic at moving targets then in a controlled manner. If they were undecided if they were going to kill anyone, chances are high they won't. But, once the burglar continues to harm you after you've been complaint, chances are very high they intend to kill you. - praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -1/+37I, personally, always sleep in full body armor. You just never know these days.
- rroeserr, on 01/25/2008, -3/+38Murder is something that infringes on someone else personally liberty..owning a gun is harmless. How you use a gun is what makes it bad. Same thing with a knife, lead pipe, etc.
- digg0t, on 01/25/2008, -5/+40If there is grass on the wicket, it's good enough for cricket.
- Tebixan, on 01/25/2008, -2/+34He picked up an overshield before the fight
- queenstarsha, on 01/25/2008, -3/+34same with murder. if murder were outlawed, only criminals would murder.
- FierceGrape, on 01/25/2008, -2/+32I can't tell if you are trying to be sarcastic or you have an extra chromosome or two.
- sockpuppets, on 01/25/2008, -3/+32Robe and wizard hat.
- HenvY, on 01/25/2008, -5/+34Why are you sorry?
- ivosilva, on 01/25/2008, -1/+29He was all out of chewing gum.
- oddtom, on 01/25/2008, -3/+30I commend your attempt at sarcasm, but life counters with irony: the boys were charged with using an imitation gun.
- WestEast, on 01/25/2008, -2/+29What?......did you read the article?
He was being compliant telling them where the safe was.would give the what they want..but they STILL beat the ***** outt him.....so at that point he realised they where more likly to kill them than jsut leave with the money.......
........he made a well defined choice and had the balls to carry it right thru......
plus you dont know exactly what position he was to his daughter and the knife...he onlt started whailing on them after he new the knife was away from his girl.
The world NEEDS more poeple like him. - djj3w, on 01/25/2008, -2/+29hardass.. just completely HARD.. ASS. Did what's right. Seriously.. WTF is wrong with the world we live in.. where some stupid ***** will kill a 13 year old girl for some money.. or ANYONE for that matter. I would have beat the ***** out of those guys, but i dunno after 3 stabs to the head. props to ya.
- GODsPC, on 01/25/2008, -0/+26You would have to kill me if you held a knife up to my kid, cause that would be the only thing to stop me from killing you.
- wrillo, on 01/25/2008, -0/+26or this guy just kicks ass
- DogBotherer, on 01/25/2008, -0/+26Agreed, he is, but I wish I could be certain I would be so brave. I guess we never know until life tests us that way...I hope that it never does.
- stisev, on 01/25/2008, -13/+39Randrayla,
I used to be a hardcore advocate of gun control, until my best friend and I argued for about a year and I FINALLY decided to do the research.
What I found that gun control, indeed, DOES NOT WORK. Gun control laws only hurt registered, legitimate gun owners. Indeed, gun control laws are about protecting the government from its citizens, which is why the founding fathers included the 2nd ammendment. -
