- algaeturd, on 10/14/2009, -4/+19Unfortunately, most of these are current photos from hipsters who feel obligated to carry a Polaroid camera around with them for street cred.
The old ones (you can tell which is which) are good but honestly...when Polaroids were in their heyday, everyone made fun of them because they weren't practical and the colors of the photos were all washed out.
People only like things after they can't have them anymore. And I realize that a company is going to keep making Polaroid film and cameras after people got worked up over the news that Polaroid was closing shop, but people hated Polaroids as an 'instant' choice in the days of the pre-digital camera. - MasonZombie, on 10/14/2009, -0/+12http://imgur.com/chEQ9.jpg
That one is actually a really good photo. - notzak, on 10/14/2009, -0/+10It's because the costumes are so ***** that it helps baffled neighbors make the kids not feel bad by being able to identify that their sheet of spandex and plastic resembles C3P0
- aaronoog, on 10/14/2009, -2/+12I'm seriously sad that my kids probably won't get to see the magic of a polaroid picture. There's nothing like seeing a picture develop before your eyes. Though it's science, it wreaks of magic.
- lead2thehead, on 10/14/2009, -0/+8I forgot how bad those 80s costumes were. Scooby Doo does not wear a plastic apron with a picture of himself on it.
- cmuska902, on 10/13/2009, -1/+8It is amazing how the color, tone, and mood captured by a Polaroid picture truly epitomizes the Halloween spirit.
- chaoshauk, on 10/14/2009, -0/+7I don't think that's a costume... I think she just dresses like that.
- kevinsname, on 10/13/2009, -1/+8Digital is better. But memories of the past that seeing a polaroid brings back....priceless.
- alexgdorman, on 10/14/2009, -1/+7Everything is better with Polaroid.
- mehtheinfernal, on 10/14/2009, -0/+5Your argument is flawed.
I like many things that I can still have.
Everyone didn't make fun of polaroids, they were fun back in the 80's. Not everyone was a professional photographer who cared about iso speeds and aperature. They just wanted a quick picture to keep. I couldn't afford one honestly.
Oh, and making fun of scene people doesn't make you any better than them. - sexybobo, on 10/14/2009, -0/+5http://rorr.im ?
- Shirleycakes, on 10/14/2009, -0/+5Yea, I disagree as well. I loved my mom's 600 camera when I was a kid and I love all the polaroid cameras that I own now over two decades later.
My wife and I were on a Ferris Wheel at a beach a couple of months ago and she took a picture of me with her Spectra; after it finished developing it flew out of her hands into the sand, was picked up by a passing kid who then ran to the crowd of people near the ocean to show to his family. We chased after him but couldn't find him, never got the picture back, and this kid got the "Gods Must be Crazy" experience of a bizarre photo falling from the sky. It was a *****' blast.
As my wife put it, "Recovering a corrupt digital photo will never be as fun as chasing an errant polaroid through the sand." - sickswaystop, on 10/14/2009, -2/+6polaroid is back http://digg.com/d3175DR
- rocknog, on 10/13/2009, -3/+7Tangential question here - what is the deal with kids' Halloween costumes always having a picture of the character they're dressing up as on the front? It makes no sense.
- seantubridy, on 10/14/2009, -1/+47, 13, 22, and 24 are fakes. I can tell by the frames and by seeing a lot of 'roids in my time.
- yacks, on 10/14/2009, -0/+3did you use a lot of Preparation H for those 'roids?
- DarlinGesyka, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2Frankenstein was CLASSIC!! I LOL'd then I AAAW'd
- georgetds, on 10/14/2009, -0/+2Probably would have helped him remember who he was after a few scooby snacks, though.
- blinker265, on 10/14/2009, -3/+5Those costumes sucked.
- alexgdorman, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1The original is still up for me.
- flyinfoofighter, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1Go see Memento.
- cashhh, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1That raspberry costume is awesome! May just have to steal the idea
- sexybobo, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1was giving me a to many connections error. its back up now.

- silentbutstudly, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1That Ronald Reagan mask looked a little too real....*shudder*
- paynomind, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1I prefer digital pics of side boob.
- skipvt, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1It's called Marketing (noun: the process or technique of promoting, selling, and distributing a product or service.)
- eh123, on 10/14/2009, -1/+2DIO may kick ass, but SLAYER RULES
- MourningLemon, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1In this case it kinda makes things look a bit creepier, which fits the mood perfectly.
- seantubridy, on 10/14/2009, -0/+1The people who were upset about Polaroid discontinuing film weren't the ones who didn't use it anymore, they were the ones who still used it and liked it.
- CatieJanie, on 10/15/2009, -0/+1hahaha classics
- Chapman9110, on 10/14/2009, -1/+1I think Halloween was just better in the 70's and 80's.
- RachelJTM, on 10/13/2009, -3/+3well at least there is still poladroid! you can make some fake polaroids from digital photos :)
- flyinfoofighter, on 10/14/2009, -1/+1Especially when your memory gets wiped every 15 minutes.
- The_Tate, on 10/14/2009, -2/+1Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the shot showing the older guy and girl holding liquor... isn't that Pernod Absinthe?
- Fmunkey, on 10/14/2009, -2/+1damnit, put it in the wrong box. meant to go for the comment "Dugg for 'Dio kicks ass'"
- inactive, on 10/14/2009, -2/+0Dugg for Yoda, Vader, and C3PO
- fluidfoundation, on 10/14/2009, -6/+1I was unaware that Superman had a camel toe at that age.
