- Chazx, on 10/10/2007, -17/+140"To catch a predator" is sickening and barbaric.
- vap0r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+74I'm going to go online to get "caught" by TCaP. But when it's time to meet, I'm going to send in an underage boy, then the "decoy" will be a "predator" and she'll be under arrest!
- luke16, on 10/10/2007, -5/+73Because flicklife sucks http://youtube.com/watch?v=X0YziP9pdZs
- foodude, on 10/10/2007, -4/+65Am I the only one who thinks that not only this show, but the entire procedure of "catching" potential(!!) "predators" is flawed?
This guy committed no crime. Even if he had met that girl, had it existed, he still hadn't committed a crime. And even if he had the intention to have sex with her, maybe still they wouldn't end up in bed together.
Here's what I think is wrong about this scheme:
1.) THOUGHT CRIME ANYONE? Those policemen/cameramen/idiotic showmasters did not prevent a child abuse on that night. There was no fs#ing child! The guy surely thought about banging that 14yo, but noone was in any danger of that happening and it still could have ended another way. He could have reconsidered..
2.) If a professional team makes up a scene for you, presenting you the perfect crime, something illegal but very much appealing to you, at some point you'd go for it... Someone dropping a solid gold turd with noone around? You'd probably grab it! riaa.com SSH root logins lying around? sure, use that open WLAN and rm -rf / them ! Or you would at least think about it for a minute. Neither was any of the nice items real, but still.. BB sees you and you're BUSTED!
This society is going down. :'(
"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Ben Franklin - austenw, on 10/10/2007, -8/+52I love how they show it over and over and over again at the end.
- q1006662, on 10/10/2007, -4/+45Just wait til you see next season's "To Castrate a Predator and Dance Around in his Genital Blood"
- stupergenius, on 10/10/2007, -6/+33Agreed, and they always spam it on MSNBC.
Public ridicule = cruel and unusual. - ploop, on 10/10/2007, -1/+24Might as well...
- Closeminded5228, on 10/10/2007, -4/+27"This predator turns white and passes out"
How racist. And since when was passing out a stereotype of white people? - whatsupmtv, on 10/10/2007, -2/+23WHAT NO CHOCOLATE!
- vamper, on 10/10/2007, -8/+29i have had that happen to me a few times... the pass out not the dateline thing... i have a heart condition that causes low blood pressure at random times.. really sucks
- binorgog, on 08/07/2008, -3/+22Sorry one more comment.
The 21 year old dude on this episode coming to me the 15 year old girl.
I have personal experience with this.
When I was 22, I came out openly as a gay guy to my parents.
That same year my brother started his 2nd year of dating his girlfriend.
My brother was 21 and his girlfriend had just turned 14 (they met when she was 13)
To this day I will never understand how my parents could think that I was the pervert in the family. - dralezero, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17Could he just be an act?

- fubes2000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12More sad than anything else. By the time he falls over he's completely broken.
- xerus, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14This is Minority Report ***** straight up dawg! :I
- HastyBoom, on 10/10/2007, -7/+18Not Funny.
- nodonoug, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12That doesn't mean you throw the Bill of Rights out the window. prosecute them, heavily, and lock them up forever. The treatment they get in prison will be cruel enough.
- xOKxWhy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12I'm Chris Hansen with Dateline NBC, what are you doing here?
- foodude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11> "However, the fact is that he has had a sexually explicit conversation with a minor"...
He DIDNT. He had a sexually explicit conversation with a probably male 30yo from "perverted justice" who staged the whole chat. - Jowitz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9It's actually called ephebophilia, which is not the same as pedophilia. The morality of it is the only reason we have a problem with it, it's perfectly sensible biologically, unlike pedophilia.
- Ocelot13, on 10/10/2007, -6/+15so, turns out he was slipped the roofie..not the other way around. i guess the show is the real sexual predator.
- wageslaven, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9OK, legal solution, not adovcating immoral sexual relations here..:
Your going to meet a 14 year old to have sex. Worried its a Sting? Walk in and say "Oh, you know I know your just kidding about being underage right? Your really 19 arent you? I could tell on the IM. Your 19 right?"
When they say "yes, im 19" bingo, out of the charge (?)
or "No, Im really 14." say "no, your 19 right"?" keep on the this angle if they continue with the "14" angle, get out.
So, is this entrapment to lie? - Neiby, on 10/10/2007, -7/+16Real cops, whose job it is to catch these guys for real, hate this sort of thing. It's making it harder to conduct their own stings because criminals are becoming more aware of these sorts of tactics.
- syruplord, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Dude, it specifically said she was FOURTEEN! Big difference, buddy.
- wageslaven, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Willing 14 and 15 year olds arent children, they are underage. While I agree that the law requires some kind of fixed age to be usefull (for equal justice), but only in fantasy land is a 14 or 15 year old incapable of consenting to sex.
I agree a 37 year old is being immoral by having sex with a 14 year old, but what is occuring isnt pedophilia. BTW, check out the definition of 'pedophilia':
http://www.webmd.com/sexual-conditions/sexual-health-glossary
"Pedophilia: A disorder in which a person has fantasies, urges or behaviors that involve sexual activity with a pre-pubescent child or children (generally age 13 years or younger)."
Am I splitting hairs? A little, but 14 year old girls arent "children". - cbdgr, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11I have one image for you flicklife phobics
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v490/himg/comparison.jpg - wageslaven, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7..or, perhaps, its entrapment?
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Throwing Christians to the lions is out of style, so now they throw pedophiles and Muslims.
- xutopia, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I don't believe anyone argues with that. We're just saying that the show is manipulative. How many of those people are getting framed into doing something they wouldn't normally do?
- ICSU, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8They are no paedophiles and not cruel. Wanting to ***** a 14 or 15 year-old girl who apparently wants to ***** too is no paedophilia.
- revolvingcur, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7You are aware that he actually hadn't conversed with a minor about sexual relations, right?
- fanboydcs, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6I would have to agree, these people need to be arrested and need counseling , but I don't think ruining their lives by showing this on national tv is a good idea. I think its horrible that someone can be humiliated so badly. I wonder how they obtain the rights to show this with out their consent?
- NikoKun, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8When is this show going to be taken off the air...-_-
- stklaw, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5BOOM, MUGSHOT!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I always thought it was borderline entrapment, but they made the cynical bet that no one would notice or care because they were pedophiles and "deserved to burn in hell"
- Depthfunction, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I'm surprised that, even though the guy was partly passed out, the police still didn't run in with their guns drawn and yelling like they usually do. *****' posers.
- cbdgr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5maybe because your on dialup and that flicklife use 600kbps for the flvs and youtube uses around 300kbps
- johnnycornholer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Yeah I think they kind of play it up a bit with the twelve guys throwing the suspect on the ground and/or ordering them down and then jumping on them like they had just commited armed robbery. I'm not saying the guys should catch a break mind you. I just think there's a little stepping it up for the camera there.
- foodude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5> "They explain very clearly that soliciting a minor over the 'net for sex, i.e. chatting about sex with said minor, is ILLEGAL."
Which he DIDN'T. There was no minor involved. It was staged. - blacktaco, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7thats the only part i laughed at - for whatever reason when he crashed the first time i didnt even giggle but man, seeing it 6 times in a row = hilarity
- civperc, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8BURIED FOR FLICKLIFE!!! jeez, when will y'all learn...
- Kevmike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Will someone think of the children!
- happytron, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I think we're in the midst of a moral panic and have an exaggerated sense of how bad these things really are. Sure, wanting to have sex with a 14 year old is reprehensible, but the punishment doesn't fit the crime. We're talking about locking these guys up for years, humiliating them, and otherwise destroying their lives. More tragically, the predictability with which these events occur suggests that the "pedophiles" are just acting out a role that evolution had already planned for them.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3if she isn't "ready" why does she produce eggs. don't forget we're just animals. but you missed my point. i was just saying that thinking a teenager sexy doesn't make you "sick." its not the same when a 30 year old guy has consentual sex with a 16 year old or a guy who rapes a preteen, but they all get labeled the same. look at how many different degrees of murder there are. kinda like there's no legal distinction when a man has sex with a woman who is drunk, and later claims she was raped, and a man who stalks a woman down a dark alley and rapes her. its not a good thing emotionally for the young girl to be having sex because we as society treat kids like kids much longer now. 100 years ago it was common for young teens to fight in wars and marry. all im saying is we treat teens too softly now. another point: why is it they never have a woman on the show looking for a young boy? when the female school teachers screw the 12 year old student, she gets probation, but if a 30 year old man even thinks about screwing a teen, he is shown on tv, charged, presumed guilty, and labeled "predator."
- Cymrubeats, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3The show didn't edit it. You can hear and see the cheap cut before the repetition.
- hammerton1, on 10/10/2007, -13/+16I would of pulled my dick out.
- Kevmike, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah! Killed! That will solve your prepubescent girl/boy from inviting complete strangers into your house!
- Gryffydd, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6My wife is that way. She's shut down the Starbucks where she works a few times when she collapsed while working. It's pretty scary when it happens.
- achillis01, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6The guy was stoned. Imagine being confronted with this while you were high. No wonder why he passed out.
