- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+69Yeah... You can play without the CDs...
"What does this mean to you"
"Nothing" - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+55lol... shut the ***** up Tyra...
But seriously, WoW-addiction is pretty serious. - fowleryo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+51Here's the 2nd part: http://youtube.com/watch?v=RJ48K3XjnVA
- Spiffness, on 10/12/2007, -1/+45I love how intense of video effects they use when they show WOW on his screen. SHWOOSH! MOTION BLUR! INVERT COLORS! BEWARE!
- Mist0r_Wiggles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+44Too bad you dont need a CD to play WOW. they guy must of been laughing so hard on the inside at these idiots.
- wonderboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+41"Tyra and quack doctor proceed to remove his nuts by way of cd shredder."
I'm a little scared to watch this now. - hobbers, on 10/12/2007, -3/+43Yea, but I think obesity is even more serious. They flashed a picture on the screen for a couple seconds of the chick before the birth (about 35 seconds in). She had a smoking body. But then later on in the clip she says "well, I may have gained a little bit of weight". *Cough* *gasp* ... a _little_ bit? It looks like she has porked up to at least 2x her previous weight. No wonder the guy plays WoW instead of going to bed with his wife ...
And forgetting about the sex appeal for a second ... the obesity could wind up killing her in the end. - gamesector, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38That guy is messed up, but that doesn't cover up the fact that Tyra Banks knows ***** all about video games.
- bigpoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+29I was waiting for the guy to bring out a computer and make him delete the characters. Shredding the CDs was a tad pointless, no wonder the guy didn't seem to care much.
- neonenergy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20Funny points.
- She calls it a game where you do not interact with anyone.
- They shred the CD, which you do not need to play.
- He's going to be playing again a week after.
WoW doesn't let go of you like that, like I or any other player would tell you
Breaking off the game gives you guilt such as "Oh i didn't tell my friends that i was leaving." blah blah blah gg no:re - kakwakas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21If you have an addictive personality, you can get addicted to just about anything. Be it an MMO or 'junk' food, it can happen. I have guildmates with wives (whom some play with, others don't) and children. I play WoW and still have a healthy social life. A videogame isn't going to interfere with your life unless you LET it.
And for chrissake, could these people stop saying that people who play MMO's are anti-social and that it's not like being with other people. MULTIPLAYER is in the frickin' genre's name!
And rofl at the YouTube coment "She trapped him into a marriage with a kid, then got fat... of course he'll find something else to do." - beasty_dave_Mk2, on 10/12/2007, -13/+31gee, whiny fat bitch or....a video game....Hell, I'd take a stack of good books or even a closet tucked away in the back of the house over dealing with that thing. Used be TV, now it's the PC. whateva.
- battleroyalex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18That is a pretty stupid doctor. To think someone can just quit something right there and then.
- cptn_cardboard, on 10/12/2007, -5/+22man, that guy is a total dick. He played 40 hours a week. Theres a very good chance he was in a guild and made some really good friends. He shouldn't have just abandoned them like that. If he wanted to fix his RL relationships, he could just PLAY LESS.
- penguinshome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19WoW or that woman? Tough decision. WoW wins hands down.
- jotux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16I have friends that have lost their soul to that game...it's sad.
- Dustgunner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Dr. Gary is creepy as *****.
- jason5190, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18i dont blame him, id rather play WoW then spend time with that fat pig
- matthistory, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Dugg down for Tyra Banks, what an obnoxious self centered girl. My fiance's sister watched it constantly when she lived with us and every topic Tyra manages to talk about herself during.
Voice like nails on a chalkboard
Mind you that guy is pathetic... - ashleycharee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12I would totally skip labor if I could to play games. Unfortunately I'm a girl, so I'll probably have to be there...
That being said, I think their relationship has problems outside of WoW and her being fat. Obviously there are some issues and I can't believe the 'doctor' thought all would be well just because he shredded some CDs... - BETRAMS, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Well he must of have gotten the Burning Crusade collector's edition w/ a full install of the game, who needs old CDs anyhow.
Oh, and you cant DL WoW from the website either...
-Bet - breakaway, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11"the guy is laffing inside cuz he noes he don't need no disc for WoW"
ahahahahahahaha - unfinite, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14It's not real!!!!????
- artish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12getting a hug from that Dr. Gary and just high five from Tyra....
what a loss! - PatrickX, on 10/12/2007, -7/+16This dude is really messed up... he said he didn't want to get too attached to his kid cause the kid might die from SIDS?? But in any case he was playing 40 hours a week and that is just ridiculous. If you can't see the problem with that, you've got some problems of your own.
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Tyra is a wannabee Oprah
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9True. They treated it like any other video game when its really not. I dont think they ever mentioned the fact that you play online with real people who you might develop friendships with. WoW addiction is a real problem
http://www.wowdetox.com - nomad1984, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9i knew a guy just like that, he got divorced and became our guild leader.
- Tankslap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Right - even if you couldn't play the game w/o the CDs, which you apparently can, he could just go down to the store and grab another. The baby didn't need those new clothes did she?
- Evoguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Haha this is so one-sided.. his fiancee put on TONS of weight since the first baby, of course he's not interested in her anymore, not to mention she's so whiny. He's probably just trying to find a way to escape from her without actually walking out on his family or cheating on her and breaking his vows.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11I picture the fat chick totally losing it and shouting at her husband that she is the God Warrior and WoW is darksided.
- OpenFuture, on 10/12/2007, -10/+17video games > women
- Nick22, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9This could be the end of the world.......
Of Warcraft. - davidhildreth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7its not the game's fault... if it wasnt wow it would be tv or his friends or something
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8You know what I was thinking about after watching the second video... this dudes smart, he knows about torrents and he knows he doesn't need the WOW disk to play the game.
"A high Five!!" - MikeZila, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Nerf'd paladin? Son, they buffed the hell out of it last few patches.
Crusader Strike ftw, son. - shortymac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6now I'm a girl and play wow aong with my BF, and his ass would be grass if he logged into wow while i was in labor other than to tell our guildmates the good news
of course theres other problems going on than just wow, she oviously gain alot of extra weight and should be working towards slimming down bc it obviously does dampen men's sexual desire. It doesn't excuse the bf, he should be encouraging her to lose weight instead of escaping into a fantasy world
i've been playing for over a year, I dont know how people get this addicted - tuxidomasx, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9whatever. i'd skip labor if i could too.
why would i wanna stick around when my wife is bitching about the pain? i'll go play my DS in the waiting room. call me when u get ready to deliver. kthx. - zookee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I believe they both have issues to work out, its not black and white.
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Oh, and you cant DL WoW from the website either..."
You can get a torrent and use your own CD Key - bryant, on 10/12/2007, -11/+15I think calling her obese is a bit of an overreaction. She put on some weight, yes. But if you consider that "obese" then you need to see some truly obese people. She just has some weight.
And besides, your opinions obviously come from someone who has never known love. These people have falled in love, dated, married and had a damn kid. If you do the same, and still feel the same way, then damn, man you'd be a real douche. - nunbot, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6i dont get it. why dont they form a guild?
- raid517, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5So OK the girl isn't as slim as she could be - but man a lot of you guys are probably a bunch of ugly nerd freaks anyway who probably could only ever dream of getting within 15 feet of a real woman without causing her to vomit in utter disgust.
No wonder she is slightly over weight anyway - if you had to put up with an ***** like this, you would probably eat out of neglect and boredom too.
On a more serious note - it sounds like this guy is just plumb afraid to face the reality of adult life. He has a daughter, a job and a wife - but he would rather hide away in a fantasy world of 'play' than deal with all of the big and scary realities of life that he now faces. (Or at least that he tries very hard not to face in his case). - klauern, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm with you on this entirely MabuShisler. This is really sad, because it puts in to context that I've been looking at digg'ed articles by 18 - 24 y/o boys with little to no relationships with anyone. The comments really shine through on this one:
1) Comments on her being fat.
2) WoW being more important than your daughter.
3) constantly bringing up the fault of shredding the CDs instead of the failure of the father to actually act like one and devote some responsibility towards his daughter--his own child, flesh and blood, real person to have a major impact on in their life, etc. etc.
Being a father myself, I can't stand to see something as stupid as this being defended for. WoW is a social game for people who prefer to retreat into those games rather than confront the real world(in MOST cases). I know people who play the game way too much, and I can't say I know anybody who plays it and has much of a life outside of it, either.
I admit I'm biased to this, because I used to play games like this for hours endlessly. I still have trouble not spending hours on the computer, but I'm devoting my time towards something I find a little more constructive than building up levels on an artificial character in an artificial world; i.e. my degree, news, politics, etc.
I guess I'm just fed up with the people on this site and realize that this no longer represents the demographic I want to read about. If there isn't a strong opposition to ***** like this on the site, I won't bother reading it. It's getting flooded with crap.
Sad. - MabuShisler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3HAH, I'm surprised that such a pathetic manchild like that could even pull a woman in the first place let alone actually keep her long enough to get her pregnant. Bravo! Pretty Impressive.
But to then agree to go on this ***** show and out himself for being such a self obsessed spineless ass. Well, he's a braver (and stupider) man than me Gunga din. That there takes some major balls.
But...then his opening retort was, "Well...I didn't want to get attached to my daughter because of SIDS!!!"
Nice one DAD. I hope someone shows his daughter this years from now. Either that or he is forced to get a tattoo "Douche Bag Dad."
Could he be a more pathetic excuse for a father than this? Yes! Yes he could.
When pushed for a more valid reason he then admits, out loud.... on national TV!!
"Yeah well, she did put on a little weight after giving birth."
My jaw literally dropped. Did he really just say that? I mean jesustittyf**ckenCHRIST!
Exactly where in the world...of warcraft is Darwin's law when it is needed? Honestly.
And all these..."EEEEW. Shes fat and whiny?" comments.
Did you see how muscle wasted this puny little boy was? He's nothing to write home about himself. - GoingToShibuya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I've been playing WoW for about a year and a half, and my suggestion is when you take it to far, just remind your self and go to something else.
While leaving your girl friend/wife to play WoW is very extreme. These are cases of addiction that cannot be treated on a show, especially with Tyra Banks. If they were smart they would have sent the couple to a psychologist to analyze what is really wrong with their relationship. Simply just shredding the CDs will do nothing, no realistic solution was really reached (plus you don't even need the CDs to play). - kakwakas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There's a /played command that will tell you how long you've played as whichever character you're logged in as.
- TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You can also download it...
- TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Guns don't kill people. People kill people.
Same mentality.
WoW doesn't ruin lives... people ruin lives... and she is... hum... considering...
I don't know what I'm talking about... - xutopia, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@TeCuervo
"I don't know what you are talking about Tyra has a PhD in CS and is an admin with a CCNE, CNE and MCSE."
Right....
I wrote an answer to this video in my personal blog. I'm the volunteer behind wowdetox.com and honestly I'm pissed at this kind of portrayal of gaming addiction in the media.
