- mrpunman, on 07/21/2009, -0/+70My heart goes out to that kid. The thought of coming back home to find your family slaughtered is unbearable.
- antdude, on 07/20/2009, -2/+71:(
- Calamier, on 07/22/2009, -1/+47We live in a ***** up world.
- ScottyAnimal, on 07/22/2009, -0/+42The part of these stories that always gets me is the killing of the kids. How can you just bludgeon to death a 9 year old?
- AussieVesti, on 07/22/2009, -2/+39Seriously guys this isn't something to joke about. For one, the father was a nice man. I also come from the same suburb, Epping and I often went down to the newsagency. He really was a gentle man and one of the stand-outs of the community. This murder has really hit us all hard.
- thegreenspanput, on 07/20/2009, -1/+33just reading this put a hole in my heart
- MonkeyNews, on 07/21/2009, -0/+29My god. I can't even begin imagine what she is going through. Very sad.
Her entire family...damn. - CamZak, on 07/22/2009, -0/+20You should not be on digg, or the internet.
- AndrewDB, on 07/22/2009, -1/+17Please log off and never, ever return to digg.
- Caps, on 07/22/2009, -0/+16The family owned a newsagent and apparently had witnessed a robbery earlier in the year. All the media reports at the time of the robbery showed his face without any attempt to hide his identity. It's not yet known whether the two incidents are linked but it seems a little suspicious to me.
- fabregas88, on 07/22/2009, -2/+17Sometimes a funny comment isn`t necessary or appropriate.
My thoughts and prayers are with this girl.
Hate this world sometimes.... - roxgod666, on 07/22/2009, -0/+14"Maybe her family should have had a gun so that they could be protected from the bludgeoningers"
Maybe her family didn't know they would all be slaughtered in their sleep one night? Just a thought, and a gun wouldn't protect you in your sleep anyway. - MrMischief20, on 07/22/2009, -0/+13Seeing some of these comments is making me lose more faith in humanity.
- DestroyedAUS, on 07/22/2009, -0/+13The thought Sirbrittanicus, the thought.
- offthewagon, on 07/22/2009, -0/+11Yep, that's just about the most depressing thing I've ever read in my life.
- burzikak, on 07/22/2009, -0/+11New Caledonia.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q& ... - EntangledPhysx, on 07/22/2009, -2/+11How can somebody kill an entire family? I can't believe such a monster can take the form of a human.
- ElGubrush, on 07/22/2009, -0/+9Kind of puts ***** everyday problems in perspective, doesn't it?
- FUR10N, on 07/22/2009, -0/+7youtube's that way -->
- DestroyedAUS, on 07/22/2009, -1/+7That must be it! It's strange how the US has more murders per capita though.
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_mur_percap-c ...
It almost implies that you'd be safer in an ex-prison colony! - piieerrrree, on 07/22/2009, -1/+7call them up even if you aren't visiting any time soon - they miss you :(
(unless, of course, you live in the basement) - sauron256, on 07/22/2009, -1/+6No way. We don't want Australia's crime rate to become anything like that of the USA.
- bizchris, on 07/22/2009, -0/+5"Ernest Hemingway once wrote, 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for'. I agree with the second part..."
- TwenT4, on 07/22/2009, -0/+5I know that this, being on the internet, will be forgotten by me and most of you in 2 days at the most.
And yet, right now, i feel like absolute ***** because i can't even imagine what this kid is going through. - waisosrs, on 07/22/2009, -1/+4"I'm unclear on how killing 'an entire family' is any worse than killing people individually."
becuase somewhere through the family you should realize that you're a total dick and should head to the nearest bridge. - IKORKYI, on 07/22/2009, -0/+3you'd better get to the hospital, that sounds serious
- dsslayer1210, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Terrible.
- thejackyl, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Ok I'm sorry that was cruel. They story is so ***** up I couldn't grasp a way to express it in words. So I made a stupid joke instead.
- Paranor01, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Presbyterian: If you read the article you'd have known you stupid troll
- GeorgeStone2, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Well you're killing an entire family that would have been. Generations of people, lost.
- themastersb, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Just as planned?
- TBombadil, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2awful.
- gv402, on 07/22/2009, -0/+2Who ever said it was one person? As the article said it was a "targeted attack". The killings were premeditated and could have involved more than one person.
It sucks. - Rantus, on 07/22/2009, -7/+9Animals. Find them and kill them. That's justice.
- trancestimuli, on 10/04/2009, -0/+1My heart goes out to the girl and all of you affected by this horrible tragedy :-(
- Timmyftw, on 07/22/2009, -1/+2 Why is burzikak being dugg down for rtfa?
- nikki2300dk, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1No actually it didn't.
- exeprime, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1Going to jail for life isn't exactly "a slap on the wrist". I just hope the people responsible for this do get caught, do go to jail for ever, and do get their butts probed every day. With broomsticks.
- eejbm, on 07/22/2009, -1/+2yes, guns seem to have solved all your country's problems....
when will you all realise that your way of life is ***** and when will you stop trying to inflict your crappy country on the whole world!? - eviscerator, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1Yeah - Old Testament style ftw!
- mythril, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1Some of them are just having admittedly tasteless fun.
Others are here to make people cry. By deriding them you are giving them what they want.
If you feel strongly about it, digg them down and block them.
Otherwise understand that your response is the reason they are posting tasteless comments. - banderwocky, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1That is the most horrible thing I have read today. I hope they find the f*cker. I hope they do the same to his family. Pieces of *****.
- Nephersir7, on 07/23/2009, -0/+1I can't know what dirtmaster's comment was, but its probably better that way...
- SweetChinMusic, on 07/22/2009, -0/+1sheesh
- givemeabeer, on 07/22/2009, -2/+2call the folks
- GeorgeStone2, on 07/22/2009, -1/+1If they had a family life insurance policy, she's not going to have to work for a long time.
However it's more likely she will get a drug addiction that she can fuel easily using that money and end up ODing. - dailyhaste, on 07/22/2009, -1/+1This is just sad, my heart also goes out to her and I hope whoever did it gets caught and suffers the penalty
- gv402, on 07/22/2009, -1/+1Dude, what kind of comment is that? Seriously.
- mythril, on 07/22/2009, -1/+1One of your points is valid: they were sleeping.
The other is flatly ridiculous. No one knows when or how they are going to die. What you are suggesting is analogous to defending an overweight person for not responding to the threat of a heat attack by improving their fitness.
No matter how good the crime rates are, being _capable_ of defending yourself/your family from criminals is important. -
