Yeah, you don't see Christians bombing Abortion Clinic. Oh... yeah, you do...

Yeah, you don't see Catholics bombing people in Ireland and England. Oh... yeah, you do... (The IRA)
Honestly, if this woman calls Islam a religion of hate, perhaps she should read the Old Testament. I might suggest starting with Leviticus. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -15/+64Hey "sinfree"
I do need some advice from you, regarding some elements of Bible-God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8 . Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though Lev. 19 expressly forbids this: 27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that Bible-God's word is eternal and unchanging.
Yeah, funny how Christians only interpret the Bible anyway they seem fit. Funny how they interpret it to justify their intolerance, their own politics, their hypocrisy and the self-righteous bullsh1t they impose on others huh? - xakaxunknownx, on 10/12/2007, -10/+56Look, they may have the right to free speech, but as the video points out, the congresswoman is only allowing certain kinds of free speech. Plus she is wrong that all terrorists are muslim.
- jbus, on 10/12/2007, -3/+46This is a Local FOX affiliate station not FOX NEWS. There is a big difference.
I doubt this story would have been allowed on the FOX NEWS network. - DCash, on 10/12/2007, -5/+40I can't believe a Congressperson would make such a terrible generalization.
Also, look at what was on her Wikipedia page:
"Brown-Waite has expressed support for the death penalty. She says she believed she saw "a message" in a nosebleed suffered by death row inmate Allen Lee Davis during his execution on July 8, 1999. Brown-Waite, who saw in the blood the shape of a cross, believes that it either indicated Davis had made peace with God, or it was a message from God giving his blessing to the execution."
Give me a break. - spin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25While we are making logical fallacies, All politicians are terrorists.
- phunlee, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23She also said, and i'm summing up here.. She'd rather have the KKK around town than Muslims.

FROM 1450 to 1792 throughout Europe, New England, and South America, Christians murdered perhaps 50,000 to 100,000 "Satan worshipers" & other heretics
from 1492 to now Christians murdered millions or tens of millions aboriginals throughout the western hemisphere
between 1904 and 1907 in the formerly German South-West Africa, the Christian German government killed 35,000 to 105,000 hereros and animists

One lynching, one attempted mass murder by stoning, and numerous fire bombings, shootings, and assaults victimized Wiccans and other Neopagans in the U.S. during the late 20th century. To our knowledge, all were perpetrated by Fundamentalist Christians.
Fundamentalist Christians have attacked Jewish centers, attempted to poison municipal water supplies, bombed abortion clinics, and assassinated abortion providers
The Recontructionist movement asserts that the coming reign of Jesus will abolish democracy, the separation of church and state, abortion, religious freedom, federal welfare programs, and many other features of modern society.
A brochure published by Aryan Nations included this statement in their creed of faith: "We BELIEVE there is a battle being fought this day between the children of darkness (today known as Jews) and the children of Light (God), the Aryan race, the true Israel of the Bible."
One of the United States most notorious right wing terrorist groups of the post-war era, the Order (otherwise known as the Silent Brotherhood, or Holy Order of Aryan Warriors) brought together militant racists from Christian Identity, a racist faction of the Odinists, and people of conventional neo-Nazi backgrounds.

LOL it so funny when you guys still use those verses even though they do not apply to Christians. I love it when people dont know what they are talking about and are atheists or agnostic because of some pick and choose verses.
http://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-law.html
but come on atheist army, you guys know everything right! go ahead and digg me down and keep believing what you don't know anything about. (hey, isnt that what you say to Christians? how ironic..) - TroubleInMind, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Hmm. Before you get dugg down, there is some logic in what you said. It's more accurate to say terrorists are manipulated by religion, and leave the specific religion off the table. That way you get all the christian looneys with the broad brush as well.
In other parts of the world, and in the past, terrorists have been motivated by alleged political agendas, leftists mostly. But these days, seems that religion has taken the top spot. - cosmoraymond, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8This is local news, not fox news channel.
- jshadow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Also the Basque separatists in Spain, they're mostly Catholic
- TroubleInMind, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Why isn't it okay to say "all the people who attacked on 9/11 were Saudi Wahabis, their leader is a Saudi Wahabi, and their funding comes from Saudi Wahabi sources". Because then to go get some payback, you'd have to declare war on Saudi Arabia, and the prince is on private dining terms with Der Bush, plus you can't invade Saudi even if you want to, cause of Mecca and Medina. It's impossible. So you have to invent another enemy to get payback from.
Blowing up Iraq, a bastion of Sunni secularist power, in response to an attack by fundamentalist Wababis, probably made Bin Laden laugh. Wahabis hate other Muslims and consider them to be heretics. When the bombs were falling Bin Laden was singing "America, ***** YEAH...!" - azurepalm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Nice thing you give a positive spin to her remarks, but she did not say that - you said that. She might have meant it that way, but she didn't say it.
- joelmole, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"Sinfree DID use Christianity as an example of a religion he/she says is incompatible with our society."
Given Sinfree's handle, my guess is that he/she is condemning Catholicism with the Inquisition reference, not Christianity. - tokyopimp, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Yes this is the local Tampa Bay Fox station, it isn't anything like Fox News... the only thing they do is show a Neal Cavuto business minute at 11.
- Ace25, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6On the same note, is the ETA muslim? I thought they were more of a political terrorist group vs a religous terrorist group.
- CarbonEclectic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7It's more than understandable for your average Joe-Blow American to think that Muslims are responsible for most of the terrorism in the US, because that's what the mainstream media of the US telling them (we should be watching more BBC). I hate to sound like I'm defending her (I'm not), but I think that religious fundamentalism of all faiths (e.g. Islam, Christianity, Judaism, etc.) should be condemned. In this particular example, there have been religious teachings and interpretations of Islamic beliefs that convey the message that if you die for your faith and bring a bunch of "infidels" down with you, you'll be greeted in paradise by 72 virgins. Be it 72 virgins or 72 grapes (I know that argument all too well) saying that there is any reward (or simply condoning it or standing mute) in killing others for your faith is an act of violence that could be described as terrorism. People have every right to their own faith, as long as it does not impose on the rights and freedoms of others or society. There are similar values conveyed in other faiths, but honestly I don't know enough about them to discuss them.
- jojoko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5that snide comment about fox news getting it right is uncalled for. this is a local fox affiliate and not fox news channel. they are totally different entities. there are many local fox stations that are getting it right. it is the fox news cable channel that is getting it so terribly wrong.
- KnightMareInc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7good thing there has never been a christian terrorist.
- W00DR0W, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Ask the British if terrorist only Muslim

- geoboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I haven't heard of the IRA, but I HAVE heard of the NRA and the IRS, both of which I believe are terrorist organizations. So I must assume the latter two are run by Muslims. :)
- mariod505, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Question: "Do Christians have to obey the Old Testament law?"
Answer: The key to understanding this issue is knowing that the Old Testament law was given to the nation of Israel, not to Christians. Some of the laws were to make the Israelites know how to obey and please God (the Ten Commandments for example), some of them were to show them how to worship God (the sacrificial system), some of them were to simply make the Israelites different from other nations (the food and clothing rules). None of the Old Testament law applies to us today. When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15).
In place of the Old Testament law, we are under the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2) which is to, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37-40). If we do these two things, we will be fulfilling all that Christ wants for us to do, “This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3). Technically, the Ten Commandments are not even applicable to Christians. However, 9 of the Ten Commandments are repeated in the New Testament (all except the command to observe the Sabbath day). Obviously, if we are loving God we won't be worshipping other gods or worshipping idols. If we are loving our neighbors, we won't be murdering them, lying to them, committing adultery against them, or coveting what belongs to them. So, we are not under any of the requirements of the Old Testament law. We are to love God and love our neighbors. If we do those two things faithfully, everything else will fall into place. - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Fox affiliates rarely follow the agenda that the Fox News Channel has.
- acernec, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It amazes me how sometimes posts on Digg show the intelligence of the community and at other times, posts show the intelligence of a preschooler.
I believe that the Digg community overall is highly intelligent. Some of the posts here such as "foxifiednutjob" are truly amazing!!!

- keveStyles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2she is clearly a bigot.
- Zzyw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I would have buried this because as previously pointed out, this is not fox news, although the description claims it is. On the other hand, that bitch needs to be exposed. I'll neither digg nor bury this for those reasons.
- mwolfzorn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4But the problem is she isn't condemning the fundamentalists of Islam, she is condemning the Muslims (and politicians) who responded to the remarks in the original letter.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2She is partially right. If you look at the ratio of muslims to non-muslims committing terrorist acts it's very clear that there are far more muslims blowing up innocent people, even their own faith, than any other group in the world.
While she could have said it better, I believe the core of what she was getting to is actually correct.
Muslims need to wake up and reel-in their extremists, the fact that they are not is worrisome. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3noodleNT its an affiliate, and if you actually payed attention you would have noticed that they weren't pulling any punches in their questioning.
dumbass - tokyopimp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's a local news Fox affiliate, it's not Fox News.
- witte, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You have it backwards.
- noamsml, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That explains it. I was wondering for a second if a trans-dimensional wormhole has been opened between Fox News and reality.
- jonmlm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3actually around 2 minutes in they show a good list of non muslim terrorists. terrorists that might not have attacked you personally, but committed acts of terror in the US. so no, she was not correct. watch the god damned video, jackass.
- CarbonEclectic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Like I said in my post, I'm not defending her, but I'm providing a different perspective, which is important because we all know how news channels (Fox especially) are such spin masters.
- ZanCakes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There actually is an ultimate irony to all this.
Judaism, Muslim, Christianity and Catholicism,in all their various forms, worship the same God.
The only major difference between them is the issue of who was a profit, who's teachings are most important and whether or not Jesus was actually the son of God.
Just thought that was interesting. - insomuchas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2All the Abrahamic religions are evil. Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Theyre all based on the same OT texts.

Feel free to believe in whatever religion you want, but when those beliefs begin to turn into laws and campaign platforms, you've overstepped the boundry separating church from state. - designerjoe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I totally agree with you. I think she was saying that all terrorists are Muslin but still she's an idiot. I'm Christian and I don't like the generalization that Christians think the way this lady is or agree with her.
