- memper, on 04/14/2009, -6/+148I guess they found the root of the problem.
This might be a whole new branch of medical science, a whole new tree of knowledge.
It has me pining at all the puns.
I'll try not to be to sappy.
sorry. - divinediva, on 04/14/2009, -0/+129I guess this story is fir real.
- ScottMcIntyre, on 04/14/2009, -4/+112I wonder if his bark is worse than his bite?
- ObeseSnake, on 04/14/2009, -3/+101Pine fresh breath.
- nmezib, on 04/14/2009, -3/+84Tune in next week on: "Damn Nature! You Scary!"
- inactive, on 04/14/2009, -2/+73there must have been some very fertile seeds in whatever he was smoking
- Yousty, on 04/14/2009, -9/+63Did he also have a tiny sun in his chest so that the plant could go through photosynthesis, because that is the only way this story could be true.
- Narcism, on 04/14/2009, -1/+50Leaf him alone, *****.
- H4n90fThur5D4y5, on 04/14/2009, -0/+43The plots on House suddenly seem more believable.
- nmezib, on 04/14/2009, -1/+41well, I'm glad he was treeted right away!
- anexanhume, on 04/14/2009, -4/+42Tree? I am no tree! I am an Ent.
- fallout49, on 04/14/2009, -1/+35Got Wood?
- lekahe, on 04/14/2009, -0/+34I was always told that I could not eat the seeds of an orange because they would start growing in my stomach but no one said not to inhale near pines
- kleptomaniac, on 04/14/2009, -1/+33That wood have hurt fir sure.
- inactive, on 04/14/2009, -2/+32A fir tree, or any tree cannot grow inside of a human body. Pathogens would kill the seed immediately. That is just a cutting from a newly formed candle that has been aspirated and expanded. A fir of that size would have significant rootage and would need appropriate amounts of nutrients to survive.
- gttim, on 04/14/2009, -1/+31Branching into a new realm of medicine.
Will the doctor stick him with a big bill?
Did they figure out the root cause of the problem? - Scrappy1850, on 04/14/2009, -0/+29my dad explained that pregnant women ate watermelon seeds. thanks dad
- skidork, on 04/14/2009, -1/+29Not really. Plants have energy reserves in the seed, as you might know. Many newly-sprouted plants can survive for weeks, stretching to find sun.
- JDoorjam, on 04/14/2009, -1/+29It seems like they took out way more of his lung than they needed to -- why couldn't they just pluck out that little piece of pine tree?
- OLTP, on 04/14/2009, -1/+28Funny how those pine needles would show up better on the x-ray than the rib cage.
Is this a russian tabloid? - serif69, on 04/14/2009, -1/+28Do you think such insensitivity is needled? I think you're just pining for attention.
- Lacrossedragon, on 04/14/2009, -0/+26Obviously this is just the start. Now Fir Trees have a taste for blood
- benderillo, on 04/14/2009, -3/+28*****.
- mjk340, on 04/14/2009, -1/+24I bet he was petrified when they told him he had cancer. Must have been a releaf to get to the root of the problem.
- homer00, on 04/14/2009, -1/+23I bet for a long time they were stumped.
- Sean42, on 04/14/2009, -0/+21Isn't that just like a Fir Tree to pull some ***** like that. Shady *****.
I want to believe this story... I really do. - jgray1975, on 04/14/2009, -0/+15At least it wasn't a cactus.
- joebaloney, on 04/14/2009, -2/+17Dugg up for good puns. However, puns in themselves are far less lame than apologizing after making one.
- Bic823, on 04/14/2009, -1/+15Overall, decent set of comments. Woodn't have done them any different.
- KibblesnBitts, on 04/14/2009, -1/+15I hope he will be standing tall after leafing the hospital
- lapizzasol, on 04/14/2009, -0/+14I the tree's name is Bob.
- Triticum, on 04/14/2009, -0/+14You could hold your breath....FOR EVER!
- dylio, on 04/14/2009, -0/+13Are you implying having a tree in your lung wouldn't hurt?
- bossm4n, on 04/14/2009, -0/+13Gives a whole new meaning to, woke up with wood.
- SpinningHead, on 04/14/2009, -0/+12Well, seeds have stored energy to use before they break the soil, but Id still say this story is *****.
- Billistic, on 04/14/2009, -0/+12If I were this guy I wouldn't have taken it out. Something that naturally produces oxygen in my lungs....sounds awesome.
- inactive, on 04/14/2009, -2/+14Wow that site makes the Daily fail look like truthful and completely non made up stories.
- diggydougie, on 04/14/2009, -1/+11This is why humans should not eat plants. They are dangerous. We should stick to meat only diets where we know the risks.
- kaijunexus, on 04/14/2009, -0/+10roots?
- homer00, on 04/14/2009, -0/+9Try looking at the times of the posts Bainemo, all of his puns were original (at least in this story's comments).
- zbeast, on 04/14/2009, -1/+9I'm staying away from fir trees..
that's like something from a horror film. - Bic823, on 04/14/2009, -0/+8"shady"
nice. - walshgopher, on 04/14/2009, -1/+9they contain arsinic
- silverchrysalis, on 04/15/2009, -0/+8maybe he had very large nostrils- that let the sunshine in?
- commenter01, on 04/14/2009, -0/+7yeah... tell me exactly how a tree is supposed to photosynthesize in pitch black darkness.
- k3rfuffl3, on 04/15/2009, -1/+8Or maybe the seedling's vascular system connected to the person's and it got its glucose/nutrients from the blood. Quite a stretch of course... but I wouldn't dismiss it completely just because it doesn't get its energy the way plants normally do. Blood does make good fertilizer.
- getter1, on 04/14/2009, -1/+8I highly doubt this.
- cmschmidt, on 04/14/2009, -0/+7It's Russia...what do you expect.
- KingGorilla, on 04/15/2009, -0/+6He might have eaten raisins. I heard they're made of sunshine and grapes
- paterade724, on 04/14/2009, -3/+9In Soviet Russia tree grows in you.
