- duggtodeath, on 01/05/2008, -5/+58Seems we need a War on Cops :)
- Smeed, on 01/05/2008, -1/+23Hopefully he meets up with a few guys he busted. That will be a nice reunion party.
- BuckQJohnson, on 01/05/2008, -3/+19Bad Cops Bad Cops whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do when they come for you. You praise the lord and tell the judge that you are a good person but weak at heart. Yea, I should do that to when I get caught doing something that I shouldn't be doing. But guess what, the cop is only saying this because he got caught. He didn't turn himself in and throw himself on the mercy of the court, if he would have done that I would have a little bit more sympathy for him.
Everyone is sorry once there caught (sorry that they got caught most likely), and a few actually mean it. But he was a leader of a corrupt force of individuals that ran roughshod over the laws of the state and the laws of fellow individuals. I have always wondered why they have never used the RICO act against any suspected police dept. in regard to crimes that may be being committed under there roof. A friend of mine told me that the reason they don't is one, they want to give them the benefit of the doubt and two when you use this instrument (which was used against the Mob and any institution that engages in illegal activity) it shines a bad light on all officers in the dept..
But I don't care, because if you have the authority to shoot somebody you should be put at a higher standard than a regular person. - norman619, on 01/05/2008, -3/+17We need a war on the fake war on drugs.
- unicronband, on 01/05/2008, -1/+13Great, now he can do some smuggling for his fellow inmates!
- ffejrey, on 01/05/2008, -1/+12It's more of the fact that the cop stole from drug dealers to sell to other drug dealers. Not nearly the same as some random college dude getting caught with weed.
- pero69, on 01/05/2008, -1/+1125 years of federal "pound me in the ass" prison.
- Urusai, on 01/05/2008, -6/+16Only 25 years? Official corruption should be a capital offense.
- badwithcomputer, on 01/05/2008, -1/+10....wait- no tasers were involved?
- kickinazz, on 01/05/2008, -3/+11Wow, there still is a justice system...
- greenriver572, on 01/05/2008, -0/+8do you know they do to ex-cops in jail? they ***** them up.
- JerodSlay, on 01/05/2008, -0/+8wouldn't happen if the war on drugs was terminated.
- toasty168, on 01/05/2008, -0/+6lemme introduce you to my friend: Ben Dover.
- ngb5012, on 01/05/2008, -0/+6"I pray every night that God will take greed out of my heart." What about before dinner, lunch breakfast? this guy is not committed...
- Bukowsky, on 01/05/2008, -0/+6He's gonna have a really good time in prison. Especially when he runs into the same guys he put in there... justice.
- topnotchnet, on 01/05/2008, -1/+7he is supposed to enforce laws thats being a hypocrite, if you gonna be a cop be a cop
dirty cops, dirty politicians, dirty power abusers are whats f*ckin up the world, not drugs (which I may ad includes but are not limited to caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol)
we all choose are sides its like certain folks who gay bash but are gay
a random college dude just want to enjoy his life hopefullyat home and not behind the wheel
genius
So yes legalize drugs and jail all liars and hypocrites and the world would be a better place - vekro, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5The Shield
- BLACKTHELION, on 01/05/2008, -4/+9COPS...always in the middle of it! THEY ARE WHAT THEY ARE FIGHTING TO STOP!
- ZxEfR, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5There is one and it's failing as bad as the war on drugs!
- moofer, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5Did they take his taser?
- jessehadden, on 01/05/2008, -1/+6I'm shocked, absolutely shocked. Not that the ex-pig was crooked, but that he got something sterner than a paid vacation as his punishment.
Everyone knows that if you want to sell drugs with impunity, you join the CIA. - inactive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+5smuggle the salami?
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+4No it doesn't...you are referring to his other movie Training Day.
- hddigger, on 01/05/2008, -0/+4I think 25 years for a normal drug deal is too much, but as the judge said, this man took an oath to uphold the law. Cops are supposed to have higher standards than civilians. There is a sacred trust police are expected to live up to. He should never get out of jail.
- ordig, on 01/05/2008, -1/+5Not really. sentences of 20+ years are not uncommon for distributors of hard drugs.
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -2/+6People on digg (YOU) seem to be retarded...
Police are hired to uphold the law.
Some random college dude is a user of said drugs.
No one would bat an eyelid if a dealer rips off a dealer because it happens all the time.
Simple really. If you hire a baby sitter to watch your kids and they use that authority to throw a house party in your home? "Up in arms" would be the right response. - minoss, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3No, this is the specific type of people the war of drugs enables to make large amounts of money.
- roberto_deneero, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3Why is anyone even phased by this? This is Chicago we're talking about here. The cop's real last name is Vinny Vitucci. Let's guess who his friends are.
- roberto_deneero, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3Looks like he'll be ass spelunking for days on end!
- JoeVet, on 01/05/2008, -1/+490% of Iowa Republicans voted no to Ron Paul. Get a clue!
- perkoff, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3Haha, if there were no war on drugs this cop wouldn't be getting ***** up the ass for the next 25 years.
- norman619, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3Yeah it's called breaking the public trust. Big no no.
- AustinMandi, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3don't drop the soap!
- ordig, on 01/05/2008, -2/+5agreed.
- Ender17, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3came here looking for that and it was the last comment. can't wait for season 7!!
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+3It's mostly for show though.
Like theater, makin' people feel good. - AnonymousPower, on 01/05/2008, -0/+2First, let's remove drugs from the equation for a minute. While I don't have all of the details, think about what we do know. This guy was using his position as police officer to act as a robber... He broke into homes, stole goods, gave them to others... And he was the "master mind" and leader of other police officers acting this way. Now add drugs into the equation. Yeah, he probably deserves what the judge gave him.
- ZxEfR, on 01/05/2008, -0/+2They just don't have any common sense......
- marcosagostos, on 01/06/2008, -0/+2Why is this such a preposterous idea? At what point is tyranny enough? I am not an advocate of violence, but what can you do when all of your law enforcement has been corrupted beyond comprehension? What do you do when the court system will not hold them accountable? When will the cliche about "I know that not all cops are bad" become one that is more true in tone? "The really bad cops make the ones who don't beat you, but just rob you of your rights just seem not as bad."
I was married to law enforcement. I know what it is like. They defend their own. It takes something really horrible in order to get a cop fired. They usually just get "suspended with pay."
As Michael Badnarik says, "America, wake up and smell the fascism." - faskill, on 01/05/2008, -0/+2He still has a valid point... where are the officers coming to defend the police? Where are those that would say "this is just a one time incident"? or, "this doesn't happen all the time", or "you can't judge police action by these guys, even though they are police officers"?
- appleseed1234, on 01/05/2008, -0/+225 years?! Makes me why wonder why the good die young...
- alexforcefive, on 01/05/2008, -0/+2I was thinking Serpico >.>
- Emused, on 01/05/2008, -6/+8Cop in jail for ripping off crooks, hmm I wonder how soundly hes gonna be sleeping.Go in an *****= *, come out a manhole = O.Looks good on him
- ZxEfR, on 01/05/2008, -0/+2You sir have zero common sense....and since you called urbandistrict a moron when in fact your the moron for thinking you actually have common sense when you don't.....which means you are the ultimate hypocrite here!
- chinolofus, on 01/06/2008, -0/+2not mentioned in the article was that another corrupt officer testified against him. the other officer recieved only 9yrs.
- hddigger, on 01/05/2008, -0/+2You're an idiot.
- inactive, on 01/05/2008, -3/+4If only digg had as much hate for gangbanging thugs who shoot innocent people and rob from the poor as they do for the cops society might be better.
- ZxEfR, on 01/05/2008, -0/+1Yeah......pretty much.
- rmmcclay, on 01/05/2008, -0/+1Poetic justice.
- nnscott, on 01/05/2008, -1/+225 years in the Federal System (no parole) is a long time.
