- OzzieAlThor, on 02/25/2009, -11/+331I would be crying through that for so many reasons. I'm teary eyed now.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -3/+258You know I have to admit - I had a childhood friend that died from terminal cancer when he was 8. It's kind of strange how so many of these kids are so strong and accepting of dying and yet still manage to be happy. This was a beautiful story, and I'm glad things like this make it on Digg. Thanks to the submitter.
- Harabeck, on 02/26/2009, -18/+204***** you pedo bear. Not in this story.
- medj, on 02/26/2009, -9/+172Children should bury their parents, not the other way around.
- bradspangler, on 02/25/2009, -7/+144That's so sweet.
- Gaffigan, on 02/26/2009, -5/+134My sister has been dealing with Cancer for the past 3 years, ever since she was 15. Her situation really opened up my eyes to all of it. I've never been a cold-hearted person, but now that I know what it's like to go through this as a family, I can't read or watch any of this kind of stuff without tearing up.
I hope Jayla and her family find peace. - inactive, on 02/25/2009, -4/+111A very touching story.
- DenverMadMax, on 02/25/2009, -4/+102Very good story, nice to hear good stuff still gets reported in the news.
- djchoongjae, on 02/26/2009, -3/+93When I was 9 I used to cry alone in my room whenever I thought "what if Mom or Dad died?". I never thought about "what if I died?" - you understand so many more levels of pain and sorrow as you grow older, but in the heart of a 9-year-old, the thought of "being gone forever" is just plain frightening. No matter how many people are there to love her, she still has to walk towards death alone... and at such a rapid pace. Best wishes for her and I hope that she can somehow miraculously pull through this... the "wedding" was beautiful, and I cry for her and her family.
- h0dges, on 02/26/2009, -0/+82Preferably once they're dead.
- trotskyist, on 02/26/2009, -12/+83no.
- AmyVernon, on 02/25/2009, -4/+71That is so sad, but sweet.
- redwolfwalker, on 02/25/2009, -2/+66Nice that her friends and family helped her with her wishes, though they are strangers to me, they have my sympathy and love.
- Gnar04, on 02/26/2009, -2/+65you obviously missed the whole point....
im sad for you - pontiac, on 02/26/2009, -19/+75Seriously I'm so tired of these people who post ***** that was funny/topical/relevant/original in other threads just hoping to get dugg up. There's a time and a place for Pedobear and this isn't it. Stop riding on other people's coattails!
- MeatyVitamin, on 02/26/2009, -15/+70This isn't 4chan. Try and show at least a little respect.
- Bloodwine, on 02/26/2009, -4/+58I'm a cold-hearted bastard, but that video makes me tear up ... makes me want to believe that heaven exists.
- compgeek, on 02/26/2009, -8/+58Made me think of a friend who died of a brain abcess (SP?) when we were 10
RIP Kelly you will never be forgotten - kagebutsu, on 02/26/2009, -5/+50Wow I never thought a 9 year old getting married could be a good thing.
- Wilsomatic, on 02/26/2009, -1/+43It's the circle of life, Simba.
- diemunkiesdie, on 02/26/2009, -2/+44I'll admit, this story, especially hearing the mom talk about her daughter, brought tears to my eyes.
- random255, on 02/26/2009, -0/+41That's absolutely amazing. My best friend battles a heart defect, although her condition isn't life threatening most of the time... barely even life altering. Still, she's asked me if anything were to happen to her, if I'd marry her before things went bad. And of course I would, without reservation. It's hard to find a good friend like that, and I'm glad these children have. When kids are faced with immanent reminders of their own mortality they're forced to grow up so fast. It's good to have a peer to face that with.
- CoreyTamas, on 02/26/2009, -10/+50A pedobear joke at the expense of a dying 9-year-old girl.
Stay classy, pardonmedoug. - BubbaChet, on 02/26/2009, -4/+44That's just plain sad. Makes you think about how petty your struggles are at times...
- mparker21311, on 02/26/2009, -3/+42I think their understanding of the "real world" is sheltered. If you told me when I was a kid that I was going to die but angels and Santa Clause would make sure to take care of me until my parents arrived. I bet I would be happy and take it like a champ too. Now tell me that I'm about to die, HOLY *****.
It's the power of the mind! - mpobri, on 02/26/2009, -1/+40Did you hear the woosh as it went over your head?
- CoreyTamas, on 02/26/2009, -10/+46What the ***** is wrong with you?
- mnortei, on 02/26/2009, -2/+38I'll readily and shamelessly admit that i cried a little bit :'(
- Doonce, on 02/26/2009, -2/+33"Do you take Jose to be your friend, forever?"
That's what they say at every real wedding.. right? - Curvearth, on 02/26/2009, -3/+33So sad.
Can we get on it and solve this cure for cancer thing faster please? This seems so unnecessary. - Feraldr00d, on 02/26/2009, -2/+32Dear ShingoIdon'*****,
She's 9, she's dying. She, just like many other girls, wants to get married. But wait! She can't because she's going to DIE in two weeks. All they are doing is letting her live out her fantasy as closely as possible before she dies. I don't think you would take the same ***** up view if you had a chance to tell her to her face that it's too bad she's gonna die but she can't get married because it's a "mockery".
Well, let me tell you what. You're a mockery. You're a mockery of intelligent, reasonable, kind-hearted and critical thinking people! The institution of marriage has been made a mockery by people who actually got married and you're going to complain about this *****?!? 50% of marriages end in divorce in America. Surprise! No point proven, do not pass go, do not collect $200, in fact, go the ***** to jail. - tsp00n, on 02/26/2009, -5/+32god dammit digg stop pulling on my heart strings
- wakeupsticky, on 02/26/2009, -10/+37lol... when I dugg you down it jumped from -1 to -43.
- sooodvs, on 02/26/2009, -3/+29Who the ***** dugg you down?
- Tolzmaniac, on 02/26/2009, -2/+28so we should teach them to end up like Digg users? single and alone?
- rolf, on 02/26/2009, -2/+28medj had homocidal urges growing up. Don't pay attention (but watch your back).
- bigd063, on 02/26/2009, -6/+31It's not. The boy is a widower at 7.
- rentmitchum, on 02/26/2009, -5/+28When I read the title on the front page, I thought "Now who is gonna be the dick to ruin it with the pedobear ASCII, and will the submission end up sad enough that digg buries it for once?"
I'm proud of you, digg. We aren't 4chan. - Muspar, on 02/26/2009, -4/+25Probably diggers who can't accept serious statements not of the "***** religious people" variety.
- MillionsLivio, on 02/26/2009, -2/+23You guys are being rather hypocritical -- think of all the countless Pedobear comments that have been vastly dugg, many under similar articles, if not worse.
- inactive, on 02/26/2009, -1/+22If you are of age and can support her, why not marry now and rock her world? :)
- 007kz, on 02/26/2009, -4/+24It's her dying wish. It makes her HAPPY. Stop with your rebel ***** and realize that a person who's going to die just had her wish fulfilled.
- neilmorr, on 02/26/2009, -2/+22Wow, she must be a very strong girl. Watching that video you would never know that she only had a few weeks left.
- astrixx, on 02/26/2009, -2/+21Had to fight back the tears. Really makes me appreciate my life and health.
- solid12345, on 02/26/2009, -2/+21Not sure why you got dugg down, kids are naive and yes they don't fully comprehend.
- janoo1989, on 02/26/2009, -1/+18that was the saddest thing I've seen all day
- Cowboy1015, on 02/26/2009, -4/+21This is sad and I don't how some guys here still try to be witty with their comments.
- purag66, on 05/13/2009, -0/+17The boy is also battling a similar illness, according to the article.
- CoreyTamas, on 02/26/2009, -3/+20Or, you know, you could go accomplish something with your life. Just sayin'.
- chuzwuzza, on 02/26/2009, -2/+19@ShingoEX
