- sarazen, on 08/30/2008, -4/+444FTA - 'The girl and Collins' 11-year-old son said their father ordered them to stab the cat because he wanted them to "learn to kill."'
There are no words... - BlackX4Life, on 08/30/2008, -17/+391only 18 months for scarring his 8-year-old daughter for life?
- Jaysunli, on 08/30/2008, -9/+230Yeah, it certainly wouldn't be.
Killing an animal for food and forcing your children to kill their own beloved pet are hardly simmilar in any way. - Falldog, on 08/30/2008, -35/+255He should be forced to stab himself in the chest so he could learn how it feels to die.
- Haoie, on 08/30/2008, -22/+178Terrible, terrible.
He should've taught her how to take care of the cat, not slaughter it. - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -5/+155He's going to get stabbed in the butt.
- waver01, on 08/30/2008, -2/+112''Police said the boy tried to hide the cat from his father, but Collins found the animal and strangled it as his children watched.''
***** scum - stretch611, on 08/30/2008, -6/+109Actually there are words to describe this:
WTF!!! - santaliqueur, on 08/30/2008, -1/+99Wow, interesting angle. I didn't think of it that way.
- stealingfrom, on 08/30/2008, -3/+81Instead of stabbing the cat with a knife, he should have given the cat food.
- Cenobite, on 08/30/2008, -14/+88Not to mention scarring the cat for life.
- mwilton, on 08/30/2008, -4/+75People are sick...What is wrong with the world today. 1) Why would you want to teach your children to kill? and 2) Why would you kill a pet?
- Rusker55, on 08/30/2008, -4/+75A rabbit for dinner is different than the FAMILY cat. This is basically having your daughter kill her own pet for no good reason.
- jnordb, on 08/30/2008, -16/+86What a cat-astrophy.
- 4321234, on 08/30/2008, -3/+72With a boner.
If you know what I mean. - badenglishihave, on 08/30/2008, -3/+70I don't think there is really any punishment that makes up for it.
- zmikeyz, on 08/30/2008, -6/+68Prison is gonna be fun for this guy..... they might force him to stab something?
- judicar, on 08/30/2008, -17/+77When I was 9 my dad did the same thing, except it wasn't a cat it was a deer and he made me use a rifle instead of a knife.
- DivineMonkey, on 08/30/2008, -14/+73What a ***** asswipe.
People like him make me ashamed to be human. - craznfish, on 08/30/2008, -4/+60what the *****!
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -3/+59If it were a -pet- rabbit it would be the same.
- Starkyy, on 08/30/2008, -2/+58Hey it could be worse...you could be a cat.
- yyz_, on 08/30/2008, -14/+68This reminds me, I can't wait for the new season of Dexter.
- CandidateZero, on 08/30/2008, -3/+54Instead, they learned to kill any kind of love they might've had for their father.
- evil-doer, on 08/30/2008, -11/+60it sounds reasonable to me..
as horrible as this is, what do you think he should have gotten? - Ch0chi, on 08/30/2008, -4/+52This is absurd! The Dad should be put in jail for a much longer term. Animal abuse is cruelty, and on top of that he made his daughter do the dirty work. What an arrogant little prick!
- badenglishihave, on 08/30/2008, -9/+51Before/if you bury this guy, think about it: the "best" thing that could come out of this is that the girl is taken away from her father. That alone is what needs to be done. Any punishment on the father's part is just icing on the cake.
- bullhead2007, on 08/30/2008, -7/+47Boy am I glad he was able to propagate his genes...
- rocketpop, on 08/30/2008, -2/+42This is wrong on so many levels. This isn't like teaching someone to kill a chicken for dinner, and even if it was, stabbing an animal is not the way to slaughter it. Forcing someone to stab their family pet? This bastard should get much, much longer for severe CHILD ABUSE. The animal cruelty should be secondary.
- flyzipper, on 08/30/2008, -0/+39Anyone who kills their food animals by STABBING them to death, whether a child's present or not, is guilty of animal cruelty. The fact that this guy forced his kids to do it ... forced his kids to commit a felony ... that's where neglect of a dependent comes into the picture.
- LastDitchHero, on 08/30/2008, -1/+39I grew up on a farm and I have killed plenty of animals. But killing a perfectly healthy animal for no reason is just *****.
- mandel15, on 08/30/2008, -72/+110I believe this is the guy: http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -8/+43This is different, the dad strangled the cat right in front of the kids then made his daughter kill a family pet which she loved. She was forced to kill it by hand which is a lot more personal then shooting a deer from a distance.
- OpCzar, on 08/30/2008, -10/+45Meh - still 8 more lives to go.
- graphictruth, on 08/30/2008, -16/+48Various such rituals are in fact a rite of passage in many Klan and Christian Identity Movement families.
And it's not about learning to kill for food - it's about learning to enjoy killing, especially things to weak to fight back. It's to instill the idea that those weaker than you deserve to be exploited, even killed for no better reason than your own amusement and enjoyment. The quintessential distillation of this is Dick Cheney's favorite sport - Quail Hunting, where tame quail are released in front of the guns so that they may be slaughtered by drunken fools.
In other words, it's Republican Family Values at it's most bloody and vicious. - stretch611, on 08/30/2008, -4/+35I can only hope that he will never get to see his kids again.
- kaisa, on 08/30/2008, -1/+30Wow, parenting genius right here...
- DJ1101, on 08/30/2008, -6/+35Dugg for a cat named "Boots".
- flmumb, on 08/30/2008, -3/+31Funny, that was the same rationale for people raping and abusing slaves.
- theselfishgene, on 08/30/2008, -4/+31* infurrier species
- MacGyver2210, on 08/30/2008, -0/+26Word of advice: don't stab it.
- dxgg, on 08/30/2008, -6/+31Only 18 months??
- lovefarran, on 08/30/2008, -3/+28An animal is not property, that is why there are animal cruelty laws. They are living beings, not pieces of furniture.
- inactive, on 08/30/2008, -1/+25The same ammount that goes along with animal cruelty and his children should be removed from him. eh should also /then/ pay more time for psychological damage.
Whats the punishment for killing a pet? - inactive, on 08/30/2008, -0/+23Yeah but that's okay and this isn't, because.......um...because....
..***** - IMDPanda, on 08/30/2008, -2/+24What a coincidence. I have 5-month-old boots made of kittens. Small world, huh!?
- had3l, on 08/30/2008, -5/+26O, hai.... wut? AGGAHHAHHHHHHH
- DeadeyeDick, on 08/30/2008, -1/+22That's some ***** up ***** right there.
