I genuinely laughed out loud at that visual.

None of the crowd had a legimate right to take them without permission, even though they would be free to do so once the balloons were released. Until released they are private property of the airline, after all. The crowd still cost the airline a lot of money, no doubt, by destroying the marketing stunt, but it's a pittance compared to the unauthorized "theft" of the vouchers.
