Cops Gone Wild - Worst Case of Police Brutality in the U.S. watch!
youtube.com — Watch the Video for yourself. Since 3 cops in New York were able to fire 50 shots into a unarmed black man and get away with it, cops all over the U.S. have confirmation that they can do whatever they want and get away with it. It all starts in Philly where the police take part in one of the worst police beatings to date. It's absolutely ridiculous

- thirdcoastborn, on 05/07/2008, -4/+13Cops in America are lucky that American citizens who see crap like this do not have the balls to fight back against police brutality like these people did when they saw 3 cops beating on a man....http://youtube.com/watch?v=AKK9EjEEG_Q
- twertyto, on 05/07/2008, -7/+2That video makes me sick. Don't those people see the hypocrisy in their actions?
- kaelyiesta, on 05/07/2008, -0/+6Your argument would suggest that any punishment is hypocritical. When someone does harm to another, it is not immoral to punish the aggressor to the extent that it prevents them from hurting the victim more(and possibly discouraging others from doing the same, but that issue is a bit more complex). I think that the degree these cops were beaten might have been excessive, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with stopping those sick ***** from beating on that man for no good reason. Such an event might have even served to change how they view policing citizens. Maybe they would be less likely to think it was ok to do such a thing in the future, if only out of fear of consequence.
- ElAssoWipo, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Us vs them.
Them were beating on us, us fought back.
- JekJob, on 05/07/2008, -2/+2But isn't it also hypocrisy when a cop thinks he's above the law?
- twertyto, on 05/07/2008, -7/+2That video makes me sick. Don't those people see the hypocrisy in their actions?
- leonidas333, on 05/07/2008, -9/+7Agreed this is extreme force but how about a bit of context here?
Weren't these violent criminals fleeing from a bank robbery? Thats how it is being reported in Australia.
Now im not giving a green light for police violence but I would like to know what lead to this.
If it was a bank robbery, they are lucky the police didn't get all Al Pachino in HEAT on their asses.- thirdcoastborn, on 05/07/2008, -4/+9That's why we have a justice system. The police are to arrest criminals in a manner that they were trained. These cops became the Judge, the Jury and it looks like the way they continue to just kick and punch all three even though they are lying down, the Executioner. Is this America or just some 3rd world country?
- ufia, on 05/08/2008, -2/+4I agree, please don't judge the guy wearing a ski mask, pointing a shotgun, and fleeing with a bag of stolen money. He may not be the bank robber you are looking for, please leave him alone. What is America coming to? Police state!

- BishkekBuddy, on 05/07/2008, -2/+6Context, leonidas? Good GOD... Yes, they were fleeing from a bank robbery - but does that mean they have to be kicked, beaten, pummeled by 3 to 5 officers each and to the point of needing hospitalization? Go watch Les Miserables, if you haven't - is this what we're going to be reduced to as a "civilization?" I can only hope you break the speed law or try to steal a loaf of bread and find yourself facing this kind of arrest... I think you'd be singing a different tune.
- leonidas333, on 05/07/2008, -2/+5Oh man I cant believe you are burying my comment because I dared to asked for context.
talk about extreme reaction.
Like I said, I think we ALL need a bit more contextualizing before we start rioting on the streets.
Again, I would strongly advocate against police brutality but i am not going to cast judgment before I know all the facts and not to do so would be reckless.
You may continue to bury my comments now- twertyto, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3I think you are right in some of the cases of police brutality that come to light but this appears different. I doubt there is any situation that requires 15 cops to pull 3 guys out of a car and beat them that couldn't be handled differently.
- PolishLogic, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2How about when they're fleeing from a shooting they had just participated in, in what happens to be a city that has turned into Baghdad thanks to drugs and gangs. All while being home to an increasing number of police being killed in the line of duty over sometimes benign reasons.
Seems like a decent enough context for me.

- Vagabond91, on 05/07/2008, -2/+7Please provide a "context" that would make it okay for 16 police to brutalize 3 citizens. (Remember it's 2008, not 1958)
- PolishLogic, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2Well if the 3 citizens weren't fleeing from a crime where they, along with a fourth man, fired at a group of people standing on a street corner, I'd be sympathetic.
Unfortunately, I don't have much sympathy for a group of guys who got busted fleeing after ***** up an attempted murder. Not to mention that cop-killing is almost becoming a hobby in Philly.

- ivandir, on 05/07/2008, -9/+3Before you say anything about cops in Philly in general I want you to know that you need to live in Philly for 2+ years before you make this judgment. Philly is getting really dangerous and partially the fear of being shot is what pushed these cops to do what they did. These men had guns and were running away after being in a shooting.
I condone the actions but I don't want cops to be easy on criminals.- Vagabond91, on 05/07/2008, -1/+5Please look up the definition of condone...
- ivandir, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2I meant to say I do not condone.
My mistake, English is my third language.
- ivandir, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2I meant to say I do not condone.
- twertyto, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3If they are so worried about being shot why do then run up to the suspects' car right after it was stopped? I could think of several different ways that could have been handled.

FTA: "Officers are not allowed to operate outside of the law."
O RLY? - postaldigger, on 05/07/2008, -1/+4So, does this mean if we kill people and steal cars, then the cops will beat us up?
- brycelb, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2I sure hope so!
- nibster, on 05/07/2008, -3/+3they probably were caught smoking a joint.
- psycoborg, on 05/07/2008, -10/+6you morons. These People robbed a bank, and shot and killed a police officer when he tried to stop them. then in this chase, they almost killed alot more people. while im not justifying what the video shows. put your self in the police officers shoes. and think. would you like to be killed? if your friend was killed would you be calm? nuff said.
- Vagabond91, on 05/07/2008, -2/+5The three suspects were charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment, according to court officials.

Making up ***** is so cool, can I be like you one day?- PolishLogic, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3Looks like those charges got upped:
Dyches, Hopkins and Hall have been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, weapons possession and criminal conspiracy. Bail was set at $300,000 for Hall and $1 million for Hopkins. Dyches' bail hearing was delayed last night when police at the 25th District apparently took him back to the hospital after he complained of back pain, Perrine said.

According to the above link, it seems they were involved in a shooting prior to the chase, after all.- kemp34, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1psycoborg claimed they killed a police officer.

- spmyke, on 05/07/2008, -1/+3Support the police! Beat yourself up!
- PolishLogic, on 05/07/2008, -1/+2All the erroneous information about this story is finally started to weed itself out. There doesn't appear to have been a bank robbery, just a little old attempted murder on the part of the beating "victims" that led to the pursuit happening in the first place.
http://www.philly.com/dailynews/local/20080507_Ram ... - ReidFleming, on 05/07/2008, -0/+4I'm not sure this should be in 'Offbeat'. Isn't there a more appropriate category?

- bxblox, on 05/08/2008, -1/+4A good old gang stomping is what it looks like to me... police act like a gang and are offended when they are treated as such...
- amanilaenvelope, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3EXTRA EXTRA "cops with low self-esteem attack innocent civilians in order to boost their 'false-ego' " READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!!!
when in the ***** are cops gonna learn to think about their actions before they act their heinous crimes.
there had to be a better way to handle that situation. - n3xu5, on 05/08/2008, -1/+4I am more scared of cops than criminals.
- Laughsatyou, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1what an awesome video.

- matt0ne, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1I'm a little confused.
It's pretty obvious that there were helicopters following them so I would assume that the cops knew they were there and most likely being taped. If this behaviour was SO out of line, wouldn't they have kept themselves in check? I'm just wondering.
