- h0ser, on 09/07/2008, -3/+56naw, this guy just didn't want to be the stereotypical cable guy and make you wait all day for a visit. He had places to go and peoples cable to hook up, don't get in his way!
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -7/+36***** Soulja Boy
- ju66l3r, on 09/08/2008, -0/+27The Comcast driver followed up by saying that he'd deliver the ass kicking sometime between the hours of 12 and 5 PM Thursday 3 weeks from now.
- DivisibleByZero, on 09/08/2008, -0/+23I hate this guy more for working at Comcast than I do for his road rage.
- TheTommyD, on 09/08/2008, -0/+22See...Everyone's pissed off when you cap Broadband
- silicagrrl, on 09/08/2008, -2/+23Oh come on!
Actual verbiage from Northfaceninja:
"I saw the comcast driver tapping or 'slow bumping' the older man's car...."
Verbiage from the journalist:
"Northfaceninja watched in horror as a Comcast employee repeatedly smashed his Comcast van into a car...."
Northfaceninja wasn't watching in horror. And I don't know about you, but I feel "tapping" and "slow bumping" has a different sort of feel than "smashing."
Get some journalistic integrity. Buried as "journalist goes so far off the deep end, it's funny." - Someguy101, on 02/19/2009, -1/+16I choose this one "Digg me down!"
- inactive, on 09/07/2008, -1/+14wow. senior citizens pushing women in wheelchairs and now this..
- Residents, on 09/08/2008, -0/+12I must admit I have some road rage, but a simple "WTF are you doing?" from inside a closed windowed vehicle is sufficient for me. If I'm at work I wouldn't even do that much. Comcast is a relatively bad company in my experience, the guys I've dealt with for repairs were always angry, over rushed bastards with a smart ass tone on them. Really makes you feel good to pay loads of money for a service where your repair man will spare no time in making you feel stupid because their service has stopped functioning.
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -2/+12My hatred for Soulja Boy, is no joke sir.
But when Soulja Boy retires from making "music", I promise you SRSco, I go away and hide in a hole. - rlbigfish, on 09/08/2008, -0/+8I was actually just thinking about how much I hate that photo.
- byrdgang, on 09/08/2008, -3/+11RTFA. They did call for assistance (911).
- inactive, on 09/08/2008, -2/+9comcast needs to throttle that guy before doing it to the customers
- m0rtified, on 09/08/2008, -0/+7"repeatedly smashed" vs "tapping"
:^/
poetic license? - ilikepandas, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6What the *****...
- zerofour, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6This is why I dislike the Consumerist. "Smashing" doesn't have just a different feel than "slow bumping," they are completely different.
For example, I tapped my finger on the window to get my friend's attention. Versus, I smashed my hand through the window to get my friend's attention.
I agree. - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6See even Comcast employees hate traffic-throttling...
- Niallgriff, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6Didn't you get banned a while ago? GO AWAY.
- lanzemurdok, on 09/08/2008, -0/+6One time this "hard ass thug" for no freaking reason started calling me "bitch" and "come to my hood, see what happens" and all these other obscenities. I didn't understand what i did because i know i didn't do anything wrong, i was just driving correctly like i always do. He kept telling me to roll down the window but i never did. Eventually i opened the sun roof, took out my hand and flipped the ***** off. I sped off and he followed me but he couldn't keep up with his ***** car. As I was passing an intersection, i saw a cop car and slowed down to the speed limit, but the other guy didn't. Guess who got a ticket?
I win. - DigDugDigger, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5Verizon is starting to lay down the fiber lines in many of the "lower class" residential areas around me, and everyone I know is making the switch. And I'm not talking switching ISP's, these people are cutting Comcast out of the loop by getting Verizon for phone, internet, and TV. I swore by Comcast's HD for years until I seen FiOS on a high-end TV. Game over man, GAME OVER (for Comcast).
Very soon, Comcast will have to change their business strategy to win customers back, whether it be lower prices or better customer service. The more fiber Verizon lies, the more customers Comcast loses.
They need a major turnaround, their bitching to the FCC won't save them from good ol' competition. - praisethelard, on 09/08/2008, -0/+5Caaablle guy!
- vtnerd, on 09/08/2008, -2/+7Dear Verizon,
When can I have FIOS?
Thanks! - DigDugDigger, on 09/08/2008, -1/+6When you put that magnet on your van or that logo on your uniform, you understand you're now not only representing yourself. Anyone who thinks otherwise would be a bad employee.
I've taken alot of ***** from customers but I understood that I was representing my employer, and there's always (or usually, at least) a way to get what you want without degrading your company as a whole. - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -1/+6Northfaceninja should've blocked him in, pull him out of the car and kick his ass. He is not worthy of his name.
- linagee, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4It's not really a free beat down. They'll just add it to your monthly bill hidden amongst all the other charges.
- DeskFlyer, on 09/07/2008, -4/+8Dugg for the photo.
- MacGyver2210, on 09/08/2008, -4/+8I'm all down with the '***** Comcast' rhetoric, but honestly I think this is more of ***** Old People Driving. A LOT of senior citizens can't maintain the speed limit and can't handle simple tasks like navigating parking lots or drive-thrus at restaurants. It's time to give up the license grams/gramps. If I have to sit behind one more ***** blue-hair going 10mph under the speed limit on a 2-lane winding back country road(meaning absolutely NO possibility to pass), I'll probably do the same thing.
- jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -3/+7Because he was totally acting on behalf of Comcast's standard procedure? Road rage happens, but just because the guy happened to be driving a Comcast van, doesn't make it the consumerists business.
- fuzzybeard, on 09/08/2008, -0/+4Ewwww...no thanks!
- samimnot, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3I do feel sorry for the elderly driver...and this employee needs to be arrested for his actions, then fired by Comcast.
But the Consumerist is blatantly showing their bias and what should be considered, "Illegal use of the word Journalism". How dare they insult my intelligence by actually printing this statement:
"Because doesn't Comcast really want to kick all of our asses, financially, spiritually, and every other imaginable way". Irresponsible comments, by someone that should also be arrested, then fired by the Consumerist. - lopla, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3fyi The comcast van had a McCain/Palin 08 bumper sticker on it
OT but just saying.. - gavin422, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Um, to be fair, this doesn't really have anything to do with Comcast. The driver was probably just an ***** who was having a ***** day.
- insamnia, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3At least the tech showed up.
- Hosalabad, on 09/07/2008, -10/+13Or you could have just called the police. I'm not sure where the crapsumerist is going to be of any help.
- Barackalypse, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3As yes, standard Consumerist story #3, "One employee out of 80,000 behaves very badly". This guy isn't the reason Comcast sucks. They suck because of download limits, poor speed, throttling, and crappy customer service. This just distracts from them.
- V1ncent, on 09/08/2008, -0/+3Me!
- SquigglyP, on 09/08/2008, -3/+6Did anyone else actually read the article? Buried as inaccurate, as this is a typical example of the same kind of ***** the MSM does that you sheeple eat the ***** up on a regular basis.
"Northfaceninja watched in horror as a Comcast employee repeatedly smashed his Comcast van into a car" - from the writeup and the description
"i saw the comcast driver tapping or 'slow bumping' the older man's car in front of him" - written by the witness.
How the ***** does tapping someone's rear bumper become "Smashing his van into a car". The latter makes it sound like it was an attempt at vehicular homicide. Come the ***** on, people, stop digging this retarded blog spam ***** that tries to pass itself off as newsworthy. - inactive, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2I think Comcast should be broken up and sold off for their antics as of late. I think non driving ***** should be banned from the road. Do the speed limit, use your signal and drive defensively, or lose your license. If you are so stressed and pissed off you can't handle people, stay the ***** at home. With that, I think Comcast has THOUSANDS of drivers. While this is a story of but ONE Comcast driver, if it were Roto Rooter or a soccer mom, would it be on Digg? If it were, would it be getting dugg?
- SquigglyP, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2and from the times, it looks like we posted them seconds apart.
Oh well.
Loved your old show, btw. - palehorse864, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Who knew Sweetchuck worked for comcast.
- Pahtcub, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Probably because hes treated like crap from customers thinking that he somehow runs Comcast and is personally responsible for their individual troubles.
- MacGyver2210, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2Maybe they uncap his broadband as compensation for working for satan...?
- DeskFlyer, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2:(
- MacGyver2210, on 09/08/2008, -1/+3Congratulations, it's not often I see an entire post consisting of almost verbatim what was in the previous post.
- ickybod, on 09/08/2008, -0/+2I predict "going postal" will soon be replaced with "going comcast"
- camino262, on 09/08/2008, -1/+3This guy is going to lose his job because of the service (internet) he installs. How ironic.
- Sahdow, on 09/08/2008, -1/+3not only are old people horrible drivers, they're also the only ones who drive BIG cars, like the linclon town car or crown victoria, or cadillacs.
