- Ydnar24, on 10/11/2007, -3/+173It sounds like he memorized the way to sell what he is selling in different languages. I wonder if he can speak them fluently?
- megagamer80, on 10/11/2007, -2/+120I hope you bought something after making him say all that.
- ice109, on 10/11/2007, -6/+73no one seriously believes he knows any of these languages fluently right. obviously he memorized a couple of phrases as a sales gimmick.
- Xanium4332, on 10/11/2007, -2/+64Yeah but I bet he can't speak C++, only geeks can do that...
- trippinlikegod, on 10/11/2007, -4/+50he can't speak every language he just memorized his sales pitch in a few languages, i'm sure translated it goes something like this "if you don't buy this ***** my father will beat me and i won't eat"
- Msoltanian, on 10/11/2007, -2/+39He did Iranian wrong. It wasn't even close. Don't want to bash. If he actually does speak the other ones, mad props. But Arabic was incorrect so was Iranian.
- Paperthin, on 10/11/2007, -1/+37It sounds like he's just saying: This is "insert adjective." several times in different languages.
Which is still more than I can do. - nowayhoseb, on 10/11/2007, -1/+27not impressed. I speak 5 and this kid is just repeating the same phrase in other languages. can be learned by anyone in a day.
- awfulgrace, on 10/11/2007, -1/+26I highly doubt he's fluent. People like this are in large cities around the world... basically they've got a sales rap down in most major languages.
Since I completely ignore street sellers (habit from living in NYC) and don't really look American, when I travel abroad the street sellers always quickly switch between different languages trying to find one for me. - Regulator980, on 10/11/2007, -10/+31That kid is a master seller and along with his charisma, he absorbs languages like a sponge. I really hope he makes something of himself someday. He can really go places.
- Trebis, on 10/11/2007, -1/+20Summary of every other post:
He's a liar, and a faker! Stop lernin' stuff, ya' stupid kid! - haloevo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22No, this kid can NOT speak every language, you liar.
There are over 2000 languages on this planet. - Oxidizer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Well his Russian is nonexistent. He basically said: "Sir; Peacock; 50 rebels [point at stack] 350 rebels”. No grammar just a list of words really.
- Jo9100, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18i can tell his french was total ***** if not very bad french
- gabrielg01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Yeah, but if you happen to speak any of those languages you will notice that he is just parroting the same 2-3 phrases over and over...
- Sabin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13His Japanese and French aren't very good either but probably enough to get the sale and thats all he is looking for.
- indraneel24, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12i guess the submitter is a good seller too.
- nhassan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11er, he sort of says that: at 1:20
hes english doesn't seem so fluent. - russianmobster, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9he was saying gibberish when he spoke Russian. the only thing i understood was "ruble".
- ashbrahma, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Give him credit for learning all those phrases instead of criticizing him.
- trippinlikegod, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9speaking c++ would be tricky even for the most savvy of programmers, it's hard to go back and edit lines of speech when the compiler spits out errors :)
- n00b3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Such an awesome little kid. Its kind of sad to him selling stuff on street, instead of going to school. Who know, he would make a great call center guy. or maybe a really good linguist.
- Foliot, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9His Japanese was just "this is X this is X", and it was very choppy. He didn't use particles properly.
- steven401, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Looked like peacock feathers to me but I could be wrong.
- artofwar420, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12Damn it the comment system sucks.
- thecompkid, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I think everyone realizes that deep down inside, but no one _wants_ to believe it. After all, a story about some kid who memorized some phrases isn't even news. But a kid who knows *every* language (I didn't know there were only 5) gets more diggs.
- igoratwork, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6His Prussian was terrible. I didn't really understand what he was saying. I think it was something like "...this costs 50...." and he kept repeating the inaudible string of sounds over and over again. But he gets A for effort, I would be proud if I could fake as many languages as he can.
- TheAkolyte, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8He doesnt actually speak them.... he can just sell the feathers in the different languages. Still pretty cool.
- ice109, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8oh so you know every language also?
- tokage, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Japanese was so-so. Obviously memorized, but the kid's doing OK. Smart little guy!
- Dolomite, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5The Farsi and Arabic were a bit off, his Italian and French were pretty good though.
- stimpack, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7What he has, is have a good business head. I hope he gets a break.
- hokkos, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I'm french and I can tell you that it doesn't have any sense, it is just the way people think french talk.
- h4mx0r, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6What the hell is he selling anyways?
- Dasw00t, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5On Itialian and spanish
he got it right, although the accent is a little lulz - Msoltanian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Correct
- dptechie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMsKIK4WG2s
This come to mind for anybody? - LaueOfficer, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I love you, Wo ie ni, Je t'aime, Ta gra agam ort, Ich liebe Dich, S' ayapo, Ti amo, Te amo, Ya lyublyu tebya, 'Rwy'n dy garu di. Those are a few of the ways to say "I love you" in different languages that I have memorized to say to girls (my girlfriend). And for the record his German sucks (my second language)
- cr4ft, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Well I speak Arabic and couldn't understand what he was saying, any Arabs notice that too?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Every time he said "hold on" I pictured a download progress bar loading a new language...
gotta get off of this computer. - thecompkid, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4You don't even need to know the languages. It became pretty obvious right from the get go, and I don't speak anything but English and Spanish.
- tw0bit, on 10/11/2007, -10/+14its difficult to tell when he's speaking english and speaking another language. i guess you could say he has a world accent because he can speak basically every language
- Nastybutler187, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3i couldnt even understand when he said peacocks. and he pronounced rubels wrong too. no russian would understand him.
- Mirag3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yup, his german, japanese, and french pitches were the same, i dont know about the rest. Still, the memorization is impressive.
- Msoltanian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4What Farsi do you speak, because that sounded nothing like Farsi when he said he was going to do Iranian.
- rAid135, on 10/11/2007, -9/+12Who cares? Let's see you try to recite the same statement in 10 different languages and let's see how well you do
- srudes2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yawn..... it's just memorizing.. he doesn't speak them fluently... still he does the pronunciation alright.. but then aren't we talking to Indians which are supposed to be rednecks from Texas when we call support lines or whatever
- marcusgfunk, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3regardless of how much he knows of each language it is DAMN IMPRESSIVE!!!
- feebie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It is impressive if you don't know any of these languages.
But to say "good job!!" to this kid would be like saying "you're correct" to someone who gave you a fake answer of something you know absolutely nothing about.
Reading some of the above comments, and I DO believe that many diggers are multi-lingual (I know some of them personally), I can only gather that this kid was using a very smart and deceiving way to make a sale to a foreigner. -
