- SoCalDissident, on 11/05/2009, -2/+77And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were married, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire...
- anderzole, on 11/05/2009, -3/+41a true burn again
- greenriver572, on 11/05/2009, -2/+27even if you burn down a church, jesus will forgive you.
- preen, on 11/05/2009, -1/+25gotta love that redemption t-shirt...
- FormerBabby, on 11/06/2009, -0/+23To be fair, there would be a ***** if he burned down a mosque.
- mlvassallo, on 11/06/2009, -1/+14Did somebody switch on the "Nutjob" alarm this week or something?
- Bukowsky, on 11/06/2009, -2/+15FTA -- "I encourage all of you to attend Harvest Crusade. I am a *born-again Christian* and a Republican."
He referred to himself as a Born-Again Christian, I used it as a way to emphasize the irony of the situation. - digitalArtform, on 11/06/2009, -3/+15“I am not worried about the deficit. It is big enough to take care of itself.”
-- Ronald Reagan
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LOL I never heard that one. I have to use that next time a conservative acts like Obama is the one who got the deficit as high as it is. Reagan had good quip writers. - yodanation, on 11/06/2009, -1/+10No way that guy is 30.
- inboxnews, on 11/06/2009, -4/+13fta: "Only God knows what is in the heart of men."
So true. - nyx210, on 11/06/2009, -5/+12Nope. I still don't understand religion.
- tommyjohn19, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7dude, you suck at starting fires!! 4X you tried?!
- BotchaMcCoola, on 11/06/2009, -3/+10Jesus did not like churches either.
- publiclurker, on 11/06/2009, -0/+7Given the choice between a religious nut who burns down his church and a religious nut who starts gunning down unarmed people, I know which one I'd choose.
- GoTeamScotch, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7The funny part is, that's true.
- Hetman, on 11/06/2009, -1/+7If you have not noticed those threads have been heavily over run. Everyone is sad about what happened at Ff Hood. I just do not want to see a backlash to the muslim community. That is not asking much.
- askantik, on 11/06/2009, -0/+6Er, how many times does it really take to successfully burn down a building?
- mikebrinkman, on 11/06/2009, -2/+7"If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first."
John 15:18 - barktwiggs, on 11/06/2009, -2/+6Baptism by Fire indeed...
- EnderSaveUs, on 11/06/2009, -2/+6Give the guy some slack, he believes only those "born again" can "hear the voice of God" and everyone else is blind. Maybe he thought the Holy Spirit would do the rest.
- GoTeamScotch, on 11/06/2009, -3/+6He may be "born again" and have that label attached to him, but he missed something entirely. When you have a half-assed interpretation of what the Holy Spirit is, it can seem like a little voice in your head that is driven by your own free will and when its backed up as "God told me so" then you get some real loonies. In a sense the Holy Spirit can be seen as a voice but its different from your subconscious and your feelings of thoughts. It is an illogical feeling (hey, kind of like love) but the ability to tune in to that "feeling" (for lack of better words) is based on rational thoughts of what the person knows to be true of right and wrong and what the person knows of God and his message of love, compassion, empathy and faithfulness. This man may be "born again" but if he held to the teachings of his own faith, he'd know that the church plays a pivotal part in how God (of the Bible) interacts with his followers and burning down that place would be a big no no.
- TalahRama, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3Five.
- OmNomNomBACON, on 11/06/2009, -2/+5Looks like you received faulty information.
- inboxnews, on 11/06/2009, -8/+11Correct title: "Why Would This Man Try to Burn Down His Beloved Church?"
Why did the submitter emphasize 'Born-Again Christian'? - OmNomNomBACON, on 11/06/2009, -4/+7Jesus Christ this guy is wacked.
- guanyin, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3 I find it more fulfilling to be more spiritual and less religious.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4Given Jesus' disdain for churches he may do even better than forgiveness.
- mnemy, on 11/06/2009, -0/+3He should be arrested for shear stupidity. If you can't figure out how to burn a building down after 3 tries, you should be castrated so you can't pass on the stupid gene.
- IxWin, on 11/06/2009, -3/+6I guess that's what those preachers mean by the "Holy Fire"
- GoTeamScotch, on 11/06/2009, -7/+10My thoughts exactly. Just another digg topic that tries to play Christians off as delusional Hippocrates. If you haven't noticed, its trendy to laugh at, mock and even threaten followers of Christ. Welcome to digg, prepare to be ridiculed by a pack of loud arrogant nerds who know everything for sure.
- dupajuda, on 11/06/2009, -1/+3Born again Atheist right here.
- liuite, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2Preacher's sermon: "God would rather for you to be hot or cold, not luke warm". I guess he choose hot.
- Bartboy919, on 11/06/2009, -1/+3Welcome to Orange County.
Believe me, I used to live there. - jjason1985, on 11/06/2009, -2/+4That is prejudicial, you fag.
- MWeather, on 11/06/2009, -1/+3Persians are an indo-european ethnic group. They're white. They come from the Caucasus mountains. They're the prototypical caucasian people. They're Aryan, literally.
- sunburner, on 11/06/2009, -12/+14I pretty much stopped going to church when I was 18 (southern baptist) and ever since, I've met a lot fewer messed up weirdos with all sorts of mental problems. Amazing how that is, isn't it?
- jellosea, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2most south asians are indo-aryan ethnic group. but you don't see them being called white or caucasian.
- nirv117, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2Blood?
- GoTeamScotch, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2There are a lot of them. There seems to be one underlying message because a lot of them preach similar things. Maybe one has that underlying message dead on and the others are a little off and maybe others completely miss the point. But there is no grayscale for most (/all?) of them so before you know it its time to whip out the guns and prune the rotten liars!
Despicable.
I've been going to church for a while. Understand that people suck. They lose interest easily and lose faith easily. Most of them keep God in church and don't think about it and search on their own and fully embrace the way of life (NOT RELIGION) that they follow. Its sad but a lot of Christians (for example) don't have faith in their own faith. Make them talk for long enough and their faith will unravel. Understand that Christians don't take it to heart and keep it all superficial as being seen as "good person". - Greengoo, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2Because it's funnier that way.
- 4321234, on 11/06/2009, -3/+4Reagan was an idiot;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starve_the_beast - captspaulding, on 11/06/2009, -3/+4I don't think I've ever met a born again christian that was dumb or mentally ill.
- jchrome, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1F-F-F-F-F-F- DID NOT LIKE. WOULD BURN AGAIN.
- TheKillDoctor, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2So a pretend friend speaks to you. Sounds crazy to me.
- CaptainNoPants, on 11/06/2009, -3/+4Obvious troll account, buried.
- Princeamor, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Yea... and in Orlando
- anthropodeus, on 11/06/2009, -4/+5too bad christianity was hijacked by catholicism during the dark ages. good luck finding an american christian who actually believes in the [voluntary] communism that jesus supposedly taught.
- Rammat2, on 11/06/2009, -1/+2If it resulted in the death of someone, this would probably make the cover of Time or NewsWeek over what happened yesterday. The killing of two recruiters last June by a Muslim didn't even make a story in both magazines. I bet THIS one of the crazy Christian will. It will probably be a combination of this and what happened yesterday.
