print version for those who hate pages also - jaybol, on 09/26/2009, -0/+2No doubt half of those customers lived at Oakwood (now Coronado at Newport)...it seems like 1 in 3 OC people have lived there at one time, and when I lived there in college for a few months, I (truthfully) witnessed a pillar of fire coming out of the parking structure. Countless long-term residents recalled the days of 'Cokewood'. That is all.
- razmig, on 09/26/2009, -1/+3don't call it that.
- yardie, on 09/26/2009, -0/+2Holy *****, that's where she ran off to after being chased out of Miami? Cocaine Cowboys was a seriously good documentary on that time. My neighbor told me a lot of stories about the redneck fishermen who had mansions in the swamp through selling coke that came on shore.
Blanco doesn't make for good story material. She killed most of her rivals and she's such an evil bitch you can't rely sympathize with her either. It's possible they could do a script like "Monster". It might even make a good horror movie. She did have a knack for having people murdered in the most degrading ways imaginable and for petty ***** too. - jcf42005, on 09/26/2009, -0/+2The thumbnail looks like Wilson's evil twin
- UnrelatedName, on 09/26/2009, -0/+2Not a bad read.

- preen, on 09/29/2009, -0/+1Wow, who knew, OC?
- inactive, on 09/26/2009, -0/+1Unless the make a documentary about OC in the 80s lie they did about Dale County in Cocaine Cowboys,Shut the ***** up.
- heynow21, on 09/26/2009, -0/+1It's funny how Griselda Blanco ends up tied in to virtually every drug story from the 80s. Someone should make a movie about that bitch.

Cocaine Cowboys II: Hustlin' with the Godmother (2008) - inactive, on 09/27/2009, -0/+1That is why I looked.
I am dissapoint. - gailkim, on 09/27/2009, -0/+1I'm about half way through Breakshot, written by Kenny Gallo. So far it's one story after another of "look at this, this is why I'm so cool". Kenny Gallo even goes as far as to claim in the book that he is a compulsive liar. Well, I think this book is a testament to that.
- Darthmaul4114, on 09/26/2009, -0/+0Yea, I was planning on just skimming but ended up reading the whole thing. Stories like that are jus too interesting to pass up.
- spookyttws, on 09/26/2009, -1/+1A really interesting story. I currently live and grew up here in the "OC" (and yes, we all hate that term and have never used it), but I've never heard of this murder. Nothing surprises me though, Garden Grove, Westminster, Santa Ana, hell even the home of Disneyland, Anaheim have some low income and violent areas. I grew up poor in Westminster and drugs were everywhere.
