- inactive, on 06/15/2009, -0/+41Send the trophy to their parents who paid $120,000 for art school so that their kids can dress up like TVs.
- inactive, on 06/15/2009, -3/+39Oh, so instead of doing something like attempting to start a TV recycling program, offering to pick up old unwanted TV's, write a letter to their congressman or representative, or something else useful a bunch of kids find an excuse to play dress up. I'm glad they can find a cause to stand for that also happens to allow them to have fun and do no work.
- sexyflanders, on 06/15/2009, -3/+34Those people on segways must of thought the homeless are trying to be funny now
- randypanda, on 06/15/2009, -5/+28Our country is literally falling into ruin and we have a bunch of retards protesting the eventual disposal of old television sets.
This is why I can't take environmental groups and PETA serious.
They pull the dumbest ***** some times... - rinote, on 06/15/2009, -1/+13I remember MY first beer...

Oh crap, my roof just collapsed on me! - IAmYT, on 06/15/2009, -1/+10Yes.
- crash331, on 06/15/2009, -0/+9Why the ***** are people throwing out TVs anyway?
The analog broadcast signal is what is dieing, not your ***** TV. You know those free boxes the government has been giving away for like 3 years? Get one, dumbasses. - rjc5056, on 06/15/2009, -0/+8Don't insult most environmental groups by lumping them together with those whack-jobs at PETA.
- Kahnza, on 06/15/2009, -1/+8Look at all the idiot boxes!
- STPZ, on 06/15/2009, -0/+6Dugg for cavalry segways
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -1/+7ruin ≠ ruins
- DivisibleByZero, on 06/15/2009, -1/+7They're not homeless. They're "enviro-activists".
Oh wait... - alpha88, on 06/15/2009, -0/+6Dugg for the parade of segways.
- lougoose, on 06/15/2009, -0/+6For about 2 seconds. Then I insult them.
- LilJimmyNordin, on 06/15/2009, -0/+5Yeah, like failing at getting your message across to the media.
- Poseur117, on 06/15/2009, -0/+5that's....that's not really what this article is about...
- kimbja98, on 06/15/2009, -0/+5You can recycle your TV, the glass inside is apparently, quite valuable:

- mickeylaspalmas, on 06/15/2009, -2/+6is the 'signal' telling you to do things?

- ralphthemagi, on 06/15/2009, -0/+3That last picture is amazing. Now I must find good uses for it.
- fragMasterFlash, on 06/15/2009, -1/+4Dugg for the triple threat of lameness: Wannabe Zombies, Segways and John Mellencamp.
- duggtodeath, on 06/15/2009, -4/+7God is in the TV
- inactive, on 06/15/2009, -0/+2Dugg for lazy segway people.
- CressCrowbits, on 06/15/2009, -0/+2NO!
- xurvis, on 06/15/2009, -0/+2LOL those segways are killing me lol
- LilJimmyNordin, on 06/15/2009, -2/+4I hate theater school kids.
- ator1, on 06/15/2009, -1/+3I can still get quite a few Mexican channels on analog.
- moothemagiccow, on 06/15/2009, -1/+3says the guy trying to get first post on a thread on digg
- sndream, on 06/15/2009, -0/+2If those are zombie TV, they shouldn't/couldn't drop dead. Fake!!!
- ATL, on 06/20/2009, -0/+2No.
Low power analog stations can still broadcast, and cable TV providers are still putting analog out over the wire. - Ajajadude, on 06/15/2009, -0/+2I was thinking along those same lines...
- CressCrowbits, on 06/15/2009, -0/+2RTFAIL
- lolgasmic, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1The last pic screams WTF??
Saved :D - erisdiscordia, on 06/15/2009, -1/+2It's quite possible that they did every one of those things - groups of that sort often do. But starting TV recycling programs and writing letters is not newsworthy, and you won't hear/read about it in the news (short of an in-depth article about a particular group or environmental topic).
- jman583, on 06/15/2009, -2/+3Am I the only one that still gets signal on my old analog set?
- knifesideleft, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1"If you see a homeless guy with a funny sign, he hasn't been homeless for too long. A real homeless guy is too hungry to be funny"
- pdquickk, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1If they wanted to impose older analog televisions then I think they would have used names like Magnovox, Sylvania or Zenith.
- pikpikcarrotmon, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1Looks like they picked the wrong week to stop taking amphetamines.
- aduzik, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1Followed closely by the douchebags on Segways behind them in the last photo.
- BossKey, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1I get one analog channel that runs an endless loop that basically tells you "if you are watching this, society has left you behind. Here's how to go digital."
Oh, and
"...we got signal!" - KT80, on 06/15/2009, -1/+2I work for Texas Campaign for the Environment. Last year we got Samsung, LG/Zenith, Panasonic, Sharp, Sony, and Toshiba to start voluntary TV recycling programs. This year we got the Texas Legislature to pass a law requiring all TV manufacturers to recycle their old products free of charge to all consumers. We got this done by sending over 27,000 letters down to Austin. In 2007 we got similar legislation passed in Texas for free computer recycling. In 2004 we got Dell to start a recycling program nationwide, and we got Apple to start shortly after that.
We're also the group that landed on the cover of PC World for our TV Zombie protest at the CES. And on MSNBC and the BBC. We chose to repeat our actions in front of Dallas' ABC affiliate in Victory Park to raise awareness for tv recycling availability during the digital switch.
The TV Zombies pictured in the article are all employees of Texas Campaign for the Environment. We're community organizers. We're out in neighborhoods five to six days a week for five hours at a time working hard to get Texans to write letters to their lawmakers and tv/computer manufacturers and to join our grassroots movement in order to protect the air and water in Texas. We're out there in the Texas summer heat and springtime tornadoes and the freezing rain. If you would like to learn more about what we get done check out our website-- www.texasenvironment.org - the8thbit, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1Yes.
- CressCrowbits, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1Buried for anononon wacko nutjob.
- the8thbit, on 06/15/2009, -0/+1How do you know they're wearing animal tested makeup, or that they care about animal testing?
I'm not saying this isn't retarded, but you should lump animal activists in with environmentalists. -
