- gankige, on 11/05/2009, -5/+143This is ridiculous. If you're paying for first class, or using miles to get it, you clearly are spending enough money to wear whatever the ***** you want. You're not allowed to be comfortable in your clothes while you ride in your expensive airplane seats? Give me a break.
- spritom, on 11/05/2009, -3/+138He should have bought the extended warranty then all would be well.
- rjc5056, on 11/05/2009, -0/+87Yes, PUMA: the Lambo of track suits.
- mistergoomba, on 11/05/2009, -4/+90He probably tried to sell the airlines Monster cables.
- Sucka27, on 11/05/2009, -0/+81It's like a reality show where you take ***** companies and make them live together.
- ttamshadbolt, on 11/05/2009, -2/+72"And let's be clear here: It was a Puma track suit."
huh? - palehorse864, on 11/05/2009, -1/+62Nobody would have denied Bruce Lee a first class seat because of his track suit!
- Jeepinator, on 11/05/2009, -0/+41The point is that he paid for first class and they wouldn't give it to him because he was wearing a nice track suit. That's some ***** right there.
- dpowre, on 11/05/2009, -1/+37apparently puma track suits are classier then nike or adidas track suits...
- elliotys, on 11/05/2009, -1/+32I'm with United. The other day I was walking through first class, and I saw a baby there wearing pajamas with puke on them. What a ***** slob!
- vatd112, on 11/05/2009, -15/+41Save the Best Buy comments for another time please. This has nothing to do with Best Buy.
- ryrocker, on 11/05/2009, -1/+27he gets no respect.
- ryrocker, on 11/05/2009, -0/+24it was made of pumas.
- Sucka27, on 11/05/2009, -2/+26Except that Best Buy can go suck a gigantic dick. That's always applicable.
- 1ofMany, on 11/05/2009, -0/+21So Rodney Dangerfield is a Best Buy Exec????

<.< - giyad, on 11/05/2009, -0/+19on top of that... its UNITED AIRLINES hahahahahahah, who do they think they are!
- elliotys, on 11/05/2009, -1/+20I think the "poor executive" made a good point, that if it's happening to him it is most likely happening to us.
- shutaro, on 11/05/2009, -2/+18Someone should have told him that rockin' the Puma track suit only works if you're in the mafia... Or Run DMC.
- c010rb1indusa, on 11/05/2009, -1/+14Cause nothing says classy like United Airlines
/s - Jeepinator, on 11/05/2009, -1/+14Alan, that means he still paid for the first class seat.
- dannytehmanny, on 11/05/2009, -2/+15larry david can explain the plane dress code http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlFp7aNtLTc
- angrytortilla, on 11/05/2009, -1/+13Oh a PUMA tracksuit... well. It's not like it was no-name or something. Outrage ensues.
- edwadokun, on 11/05/2009, -0/+12hmmm feeling shaffted for being denied what you paid for and for a ridiculous reason as well? now you know what your customers feel like
- chockster, on 11/05/2009, -3/+14Not one Best Buy joke has worked so far.
No, I don't have one, either. - Jeepinator, on 11/05/2009, -1/+12In other words, it wasn't a ratty looking track suit.
- GorfTron, on 11/05/2009, -0/+11Pumaman will see that justice is done.
- Chompy, on 11/05/2009, -3/+14What, are we going to hurt Best Buy's feelings if we poke fun at them here?
- pg8290, on 11/05/2009, -1/+11Alan, you are obviously not a frequent flyer
- carbonscooby, on 11/05/2009, -2/+12damn... then i have no chance for first class with United
- Dugglous, on 11/05/2009, -0/+10Yeah, why do they need a dress code at all? As long as you aren't naked what's the big deal? First class isn't exactly a classy cabin anyway...just the same douchebags put in a bigger room.
I seem to recall some gal got booted off SW airline for a similar reason. - Sux4Bux, on 11/05/2009, -1/+11Should've had the Geek Squad do it.
- ruretarded, on 11/05/2009, -2/+11I have been a premier executive on United for 3 years and i fly its first or business class domestically 90% of the time. I can attest from my personal experience UA flight attendants do not deny service to people based on what they wear. I have worn and seen people wearing shorts/t-shirt flip-flops in premium cabins ALL the time.
There are bad apples at every airlines, but to say this is an UA policy is sensationalistic. - linagee, on 11/05/2009, -0/+9It was made in a third world country by the highest quality slaves.
- FearNLoathing, on 11/05/2009, -0/+8Agreed. I've flown on ~90 flights this year and get upraded to FC all the time. When I'm not going directly to work, I'll wear shorts or jeans and a tshirt. Sure, they treat you with less respect than if your dressed up, but I'd rather be comfortable. There is no dresscode for First. My guess is that the Gate Agent or Flight Attendant who did this is going to get canned.
- lnxfi, on 11/05/2009, -0/+8"Shirt & tie required"
wear it like a bandanna and it's bad ass. - jgzman, on 11/05/2009, -0/+7Welcome to America. Here, riff-raf is defined as 'can't afford first-class.' Have a first class ticket? You aren't riff-raff.
- Dustmuffins, on 11/05/2009, -0/+7It's a reference to Red vs Blue where they call the warthog a puma.
- A5204, on 11/05/2009, -1/+8Are you sure it wasn't a Warthog track suit?
- jrobbi, on 11/05/2009, -5/+11Both United and Best Buy suck, but United sucks more.
- 49CentTacos, on 11/05/2009, -0/+6Might as well be naked... I would approve
- tectiki, on 11/05/2009, -0/+6that is because microsoft gave best buy the shaft, and there are huge stacks of 360's in a warehouse somewhere that we can't send back. I"m told the site of the mound is quite amusing....
- lorenzo101, on 11/05/2009, -0/+6At least he's not being a dick and asking for more money.
- dogfood, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5I have never heard of a full-fare paying customer being denied a seat because of their dress, but I know there is a dress code that applies to non-revenue passengers, and I would guess that the miles upgrade made his first class ticket technically non-revenue (no cash was payed for the upgrade.) That being said, gate agents are usually pretty lax about that kind of thing unless the customer is being a giant douchebag.
- replaysMike, on 11/05/2009, -2/+7***** the United Airlines!!
no? - christoast, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6You can't blame this one guy for all that *****. The best buy machine is a vast one and for all you know he's a new employee. In the past I worked for walmart and I wouldn't want some douche lecturing me about sweatshops and outsourcing just for trying to make myself some money.
- blqysmg, on 11/05/2009, -0/+5People used to dress up when flying back in the day that flying was special. They treated everyone like royalty. Now, it's a bus with wings. They treat the customers like cattle. They cram twice as many people in the space as can be cared for in a respectable manner. The attendants are overworked do to the number of people they have to serve.
Return to the old days of "something special in the air" and maybe the population will go back to making a flight into a special occasion. Keep it about getting from one place to another with maximum efficiency (uncomfortable, noisy, crowded, and as cheaply as possible) and people will treat it as just another inconvenience to be endured. - Cerebron, on 11/05/2009, -1/+6Where is the site?
- TBobes, on 11/05/2009, -5/+10I am also sick of executives not getting any credit. People hear executive and immediatly think of people that do absolutely nothing and did not earn their job. In most cases they worked their ass off an still do. Its not easy. Of course the money is good, but their is a reason for that. In this example, this is some grade A ***** so yes I do cry for the "poor executive"
- Izz1011, on 11/05/2009, -0/+4The new plan works the same way except for 360s, in which case you get the shaft.
