- charlie6969, on 06/18/2009, -0/+38Dugg for reading about happenings in my country in the paper of another country.
- Shawn4168, on 06/18/2009, -0/+25FTA: "Originally, we thought of settling this with a paintball fight but that involves skill, and skill is not involved in this," said Vincent Francia, Cave Creek's mayor.
- TommyGunn32, on 06/18/2009, -1/+251320 votes was too expensive to recount..
- xshare, on 06/18/2009, -4/+25Dumb submitter, everyone knows you're supposed to use puns in your submission. Let me correct that: "Previous deadlocks have been decided by drawing guns but the pair opted to draw cards instead"
- SeverTomorrow, on 06/18/2009, -0/+17One of the candidates was 64 and the other 25. I wonder how that would've went down.
...Unless Mr. McGuire used to do some after-work volunteering as a Navy SEAL. - lex0429, on 06/18/2009, -0/+13Hey Iran, you reading?
- Jaime2000, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11This is why we can't have nice things.
- luke374, on 06/18/2009, -0/+11Yeah ... I live in Phoenix and work at a political consulting firm and hadn't heard about this.
- inactive, on 06/18/2009, -7/+16If only that had applied in Florida for Al Gore...
- cyrusuncc, on 06/18/2009, -0/+9gunfight would have been more entertaining...
- scubaninja, on 06/18/2009, -0/+8"Mr McGuire, who moved to the town 10 years ago from suburban New York, said he knew Cave Creek was different when he went into a bar and found a horse inside."
- ozekii, on 06/18/2009, -1/+9This should be adopted in Congress.
- Theuderic, on 06/18/2009, -1/+8I just wonder why they got rid of Cave Creek Chile Beer. I loved that stuff!
- NeoCortex, on 06/18/2009, -0/+5I think it did. And someone drew the Joker.
- spritom, on 06/18/2009, -1/+6This is Arizona, we don't mess around with 7 months of courts trying to decide an election like some states. And this isn't the first time either. One area had a tie in the mid-90's and the Secretary of state went up to be the dealer in the card game between the two candidates.
- seanoneil14, on 06/18/2009, -3/+8They should have /rolled
- Jackson0909, on 06/18/2009, -4/+8When is this worn out "Al Gore should have won" bitching going to end?
- bone625, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4Ha, strange to see my home town come up on Digg. I grew up in Cave Creek, and I'm actually visiting for a couple of weeks right now. What the article also fails to mention is, everyone else is either a. old or b. too rich to care about a recount. Not much goes on around here, so they found a decent way to entertain themselves I suppose.
- joemofo214, on 06/18/2009, -1/+5Because I'm sure thats how one of them wanted to spend the rest of their day, dead.
- MasterGrief, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4Well, that decides it, then. I like Arizona.
- tgc1, on 06/18/2009, -0/+4They could have given me 100 bucks and i'd recount them. Shouldn't take more than a few hours.
- spritom, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3So the election was a draw.
- Scottamus, on 06/18/2009, -1/+4I fold.
- teethandeyes, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3What a bunch of pussies, digging you down.
- iamtomsbrain, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3Do they really call it "scissors, paper, stone" in the UK? They're so weird and different from us!
- inactive, on 06/18/2009, -6/+9there wasn't a tie in Florida. Bush won. By EVERY recount criteria.
- Chrysalii, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Nice to see that the UK is interested in the goings on in Arizona
- MasterGrief, on 06/19/2009, -0/+2Whoa, his profile doesn't exist anymore! :O
- walruspanzer, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2I drew my college major out of a hat back in the day.
- ron7852, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2You get my digg... People digging you down are pansies.
LONG LIVE THRASH! \m/ - MasterGrief, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2You spelled "Proletarian" wrong.
- MasterGrief, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2Sometimes I wonder if we'd be better off if all our elected officials were put in place by literal luck of the draw.
- MasterGrief, on 06/18/2009, -1/+3I'm not usually opposed to pasting lyrics into a digg comment, but you've gotta cut out less relevant stuff to make it worth a digg. This is too long.
- GovernmentsGun, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2You may not for long. It's turning out to be more like California all the time.
- uRmyHartBstopR, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2A D20! Anyone rolled a 20 is auto win and whoever rolled a 1 lose automatically.
I'll just walk up there and roll one, get a 20, and win the position. =] - ScaryUK, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2What do you call it?
- broonsbain, on 06/18/2009, -0/+2I loved that stuff. Took a while to finish a bottle but it wasnt bad!
- Pustulio42, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1This seems to happen quite a bit in that part of the country. There was an election for mayor of a town called Estancia in New Mexico that was decided by cards. Unfortunately no one bothered to shuffle the cards before dealing the hand which pretty much removed any element of chance from the game.
- JCEEZ, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1rock-paper-scissors!
- VigRoco, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1They should have played chess instead. Then at least you could have been confident that the smartest guy got in office.
- shenerd, on 06/29/2009, -0/+1First Sheriff Joe, now this. Only in my home state!
- dsmx, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1I would of preferred them playing Russian roulette for it.
- TwizzleNicole, on 08/04/2009, -0/+1What a way to decide on something big!
- darvvin, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1rock paper scissors lizard spock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBj7-50bloE - ScaryUK, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1In the UK they can settle a tie with a coin toss, but the recommended way is for the candidates names to be written on two bits of paper and then the winner drawn. It's never happened though
- yngtimmy, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1 Id like to see a video, I'm sure it exists.
- GovernmentsGun, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1I think gun fights should be adopted in Congress.
- GovernmentsGun, on 06/18/2009, -0/+1Yeah, the town is kind of big with timeshares and snowbirds. So this time of year, it's pretty small. During the winter when the snowbirds come, it can swell.
