- wastern, on 10/12/2007, -3/+144They were all into it, except for that uptight white guy with the iPod that insisted on keeping his back to them and listening to his emo music while an amazing live performance was going on literally inches from him. What a douche
- FreeKill, on 10/12/2007, -3/+97Wow, amazing video. I love how the people initially don't know what to think, but at the end are into it. These guys are definitely talented...
- unclesaamm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+68I completely agree with FreeKill.
In modern times, people have become more and more distant from one another.
It's nice to see all these strangers being connected in a happy way like this, especially in a high-taboo social area like on a subway. - gumby05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59After the last night of Lollapalooza last year, I was on the subway on the way back to my hotel and these two guys started singing Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. My friends and I started singing along, and before you know it, the whole car is singing along as loud as they can. People would get on the car and join in with the 70 or so that were packed in. We even sang the guitar parts too. It was incredible.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+53Very cool. It sure beats listening to the old man with the lazy eye ***** his pants, which is what I normally hear on the subway.
- dafide, on 10/12/2007, -3/+42That was great. I didn't know this band. You can listen de studio version of the song they sing on the metro in their MySpace -> http://www.myspace.com/naturallysevencom
- trigon77, on 10/12/2007, -2/+40"Mediocre at best. As a member of an acapella group and owner of a recording studio, I'm really not impressed."
I imagine putting other's performances down and reminding people you are part of an acapella band gets you more poon than you know what to do with. - palmerjp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38i love the guy who just doesn't turn around...everyone around him is watching...
- wafflesomd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38Man, check out the douche with the earbuds. Everyone must hate him.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30If you've seen a black man sing Phil Collins, you've seen it all.
- donkeyshow, on 10/12/2007, -9/+33@se1zure
Wasnt rap/hiphop or r&b, its phil collins.... sung acappella. Very misleading title, the beatboxing component was pretty weak, but a nice song none the less... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Mad props to them for not even asking for money or automatically pimping their CD or something --- very respectable
- frenchdiggler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22It is people like this who make the world beautiful.
- roomforpanic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Then you sir have not heard Rockapella's version of "Where in the world is Carmen San Diego"
- koenigje, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20Props to them.....I wish I could have been there.
- lava, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Hey man, I just want to listen to my iPod. I really like this song.
- edilclyde, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18I would love to be there, how a great way to start a stressful day at work... the guy in the black with his ipod on could atleast face forward to the group to show some respect you know?
- Gaarra, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18Too bad you didn't have a video of that :) Sounds amazing!
- mmmmmmmCHIPOTLE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I hate the guy with his earphones in, turned around, completely ignoring theses guys. what a fag
- Syntaxis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Heh.. just came home from a stressful day at work, this movie made me smile for the first time today! If only train/bus/metro rides were interesting like that all the time.. if only.. =))
- QFever, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13It doesn't say it was improvised.
- Jerky1312, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I thought these guys were regular guys trying to promote themselves via gorilla marketing, but it they are already signed under a major music label (Virgin/EMI). Usually you wouldn't see big time musicians doing something like that on the subway, it was probably done for a tv show. It's good too see musicans interacting with regular folks like this. As mentioned before, the hardest place to get a crowd to join in with musicians is on the subway, as most ppl are wary of subway entertainers and their asking for money and are usually too busy or stressed with things on their mind to be bothered with a group trying to perform music.
- ziffel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8goosebumps? I had tears. This really moved me for some reason. I think I know why, I think it's because it gave me a tinge of hope for humanity.
- wushu18t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8for some reason this gives me a little hope.
- csimpkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Here's the official music video for their remake of this song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5qc3qZqe38 - vcn3wb05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Ah, there's nothing better than old white ladies bobbing their heads to a black group singing Phil Collins! Nice performance.
- iKonic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Amazing. The talent is mind blowing. Everyone on the subway ignored them, later clapping along with them.. Except the earbud guy. He's a douche.
But it's also nice to see them just go out and sing like that. No one needs to pay them, or pat them on the back. They just did so they could enjoy themselves, and give others the opportunity to do so as well. You don't see that now a days. - vexter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That was pretty neat. I hope they blow up in in the USA just for putting on the free show.
- SPThom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow... Pretty amazing.
...to add something useful to the conversation, since I'm only the eightieth person to compliment the performance... great choice of venue for the song as well. Film buffs will recall that this song was the backdrop for the oh-so-sultry train scene in Risky Business, so these guys would appear to know their way around pop culture! :) - briantech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6That was hands down one of the coolest things I've ever seen. It's refreshing as hell to see that, once in a while, people can break out of norms and simply be human, and connect with other people on a level like that. I bet the people on that subway had an awesome day afterwards, how could you not?
With death and war and bombs and terrorism shoved down our throats 24/7, its simply wonderful to see things like this... kind of puts a bit of faith back in the hope that deep down, people have a genuine good about them. If only it could come out like this more often. - Daniel591992, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bjAfVLk80g
- livejamie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6wow that gave me goosebumps
- plasticquart, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5greyhaven7...
Way to be a complete douche. You obviously don't like this group... point made.
Apparently a bunch of folk here think it is quite impressive/entertaining/etc. Let us enjoy it. - bugninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Why aren't THESE GUYS on the radio???!???!???!!!!
- Augie1969, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would have missed my stop and ended up on the other side of town to hear them out.
Times like this make me miss taking the damn subway. - wafflesomd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Man, totally awsome.
- krummb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wow, that was insane.
- max420, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Where is carmen sandiego is the *****.
- radial, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I would of asked to buy a CD anyway
- suppazone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@greyhaven7
I found some of the groups you mentioned on youtube - what a load of crap. Other than being a vocalist, studio owner and what seems to be the master of the universe, I really hope you don't do A&R because you don't know what talent is. - SlappyMc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Great comment unclesaamm
- defectDS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Lava, I must know how long you've had your avatar. :P
- Jwzupancic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6@greyhaven7
If you know so much about A cappella, then you should know you spelled it incorrectly. A cappella is commonly mispelled as 'acapella' or 'a capella'.
Before you talk, make sure you know your facts, please. - credential101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I would have paid $100 to be there in person to see that. Simply amazing talent these guys have. I wouldn't doubt it at all if I hear them on mainstream radio, or see them at the Grammys.
- Smills, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Same lol, they did very well indeed.
- wafflesomd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Here you go guy's
http://www.7digital.com/stores/productDetail.aspx?shop=503&product=45111&sid=531800 - REBELinBLUE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Actually they are from New York, originally on a German label (now with EMI) who just happened to be promoting their new album in France (apparently quite popular in mainland Europe).
At least that is my understanding. - Mininday, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Because they're based in Germany.
- YouEnjoyMyself, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You must not know about the Bone Thugs song "Home" that Phil Collins was a guest on.
Collins is a straight up gangsta - REBELinBLUE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow that was absolutely amazing. After seeing that and then checking out their music on MySpace I am really tempted to get the album from iTunes.
