- pumacub, on 11/02/2007, -1/+81Because in a real fight you usually have access to a trampoline.
- Pennemu, on 10/29/2007, -1/+42This isn't martial arts... buried as inaccurate.
- DeskFlyer, on 11/04/2007, -1/+41Not as amazing as this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsEZ2lpM0Yw
- solodan1000, on 10/29/2007, -0/+28this video is so old.
- stklaw, on 11/04/2007, -3/+28These moves aren't actually very practical in real fights.
These are more like tricks you want to show off in front of your friends.
In a real fight, a kick in the nuts is more than enough. - 4bit, on 11/04/2007, -0/+17Thank you.
I"m so sick of gymnastics being passed off as martial arts. It's beautiful, but it won't win you a fight. - sweetdeals, on 10/27/2007, -2/+14This is not evidence that Brizilians are the best at martial arts. Shogun Rua and Wanderlei Silva were supposed to be 1 and 2 in the world in their weight class (LHW). Both beaten by Americans. #1 in Heavyweight is Russian. The Japanese own the lightweight division. Many international fighters have won "Vale Tudo" tournaments in Brazil. sorry to be a buzzkill.
- HydroSliders, on 10/28/2007, -0/+11Dance Battle!
- Mononuclear, on 10/27/2007, -0/+10You might be referring to Brazilian Jiu-Jistu and the Gracie family legacy. They were beat a long time ago although they were beat at their own game. Pretty much every world champion fighter uses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. There is no one martial art form that is better than all the rest and there is no one nationality that is better than all the rest. A mixture of many martial arts (MMA) can make a person a great fighter.
All that aside... This video has nothing to do with Brazil, Capoeira, etc. It's a team from Canada using gymnastics with some kung fu moves. - RaggTopp, on 10/28/2007, -1/+11DO A BARREL ROLL!!
- Mononuclear, on 11/04/2007, -0/+10This has nothing to do with Brazilian Martial arts. It's not Capoeira. It's not even Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
- aroq, on 10/31/2007, -0/+9Haha, what a stupid internet tough guy. You have not killed anyone, ever. You've probably never even been in any sort of fight, but you figure you could mess someone up because you've watched a lot of Blood Sport and taken Tae Kwon Do or something.
Get real. - sdcarter, on 11/04/2007, -0/+9unless you're trying to look cool running away.
- JonTheGoose, on 10/29/2007, -0/+8Ok, now do it without the trampolines
while being attacked by 20 samurai - wushu18t, on 10/28/2007, -0/+7this is not real traditional martial arts. mainly just gymnastics with a few punches and flashy kicks thrown in. applicable?? no. fun to watch?? yes. difficult to do and good exercise?? yes. the applicable stuff isn't flashy, just quick and to the point.
- shazzb0t, on 10/28/2007, -0/+7For sure, this John Paul Mitchell sponsored 'martial art' crap needs to end. It makes for pretty floor routines, but this is not exactly what I'd call martial arts.
- djmattyd, on 11/04/2007, -0/+6more like gymnastics than a martial art
- Cyberbladewolf, on 11/04/2007, -0/+5In a real fight, one of the first things you're likely to expect is a kick to the nuts.
- youMISERABLEpos, on 10/28/2007, -1/+6BANG! No more jumping.
- TwoMSixer, on 11/04/2007, -2/+7very few martial arts are actually practical in a real fight, which is why they're considered art. And that's why stuff like Krav Maga is not considered art, it's an actual fighting technique, and they'll teach you the correct way to kick your opponent in the nuts and gouge out his eyes. I would take a martial art for the fitness and traditional aspect of it, but I would take Krav Maga to learn a practicle, useful way to defend yourself if you ever needed to.
- Daiken, on 11/04/2007, -0/+5Tumbling is pretty cool, but not martial arts.
- qtipju, on 10/27/2007, -0/+5They would make pretty good stunt men in my opinion.
- TomRemixed, on 11/04/2007, -0/+5Shoulda called this "Stuff You'll Never Be Able To Do."
- meno911, on 10/27/2007, -0/+5Agreed: The video behind your link is much better.
- philodox1, on 11/04/2007, -0/+5Check out Joe Eigo: http://youtube.com/watch?v=xjbjVSai0qA
No trampolines. His natural vertical is almost as high as some of these dudes off the trampolines. And he does it on the street. - magicaltrout, on 10/27/2007, -0/+4"They're breakdance fighting!"
- PidgeonDeath, on 10/29/2007, -0/+4You don't start "real" fights because you don't leave your basement.
Which is why you have no "real" friends and resort to acting tough on teh interwebz.
Chill, bro ^__^ - armour, on 11/04/2007, -0/+4Some people have said some pretty stupid things about the video its not something ever meant for the ring it for show. They also do work as stuntmen in films and commercials.
If you knew any of the people involved you would know that they are all accomplished martial artist and instructors in the Toronto area in various forms such as Karate, Teakwood, Kung-Fu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu, Krav-Maga, Wushu, There is a lot more to people then just what you see in a video. What are your accomplishments?
This isn’t the best of their best shown moves it’s just shots filmed from various practices during open gym nights

http://www.allenkeng.com - ScrollMaker, on 10/28/2007, -1/+5The song is Open Your Eyes by Guano Apes if anyone's interested.
- leonhyral, on 10/28/2007, -0/+4I don't care if you're black; your skin color does not dictate what you can and cannot say.
- ChristianBk, on 10/27/2007, -0/+4Flips.
Flips.
Flips.
A kick.
More flips. - gllopc, on 11/04/2007, -1/+5Please keep those guys away from my girlfriend.
- giveer, on 11/04/2007, -1/+5If training in this stuff started on the day this video first hit the 'Net, you'd be in the running for smokin' their asses by now....
- rideroyals, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3i just got rick rolled so hard
- canha, on 11/04/2007, -0/+3Not capoeira.
- obxjdt, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3LOL. I forgot all about that clip :-D
- Mononuclear, on 10/27/2007, -0/+3No one uses Capoeira as martial arts.. It's a form of dance. There are lots of forms of "dance fighting" that don't constitute their own martial arts and aren't useful for self defense or combat.
- xxTazxx, on 10/27/2007, -2/+4I've been following Team Ryouko for some time now, they're awesome but you have to remember they're not the best, tricking (what they do) is quite common place now, and there are much better gymnasts out there, although of course these guys rock!
- octophobic, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2So this is a form of martial arts that requires you to tote around mats, a trampoline, and a really thin staff? If I was carrying the trampoline around anyway I'd probably just use it to hop a wall and escape.
- sabach, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2No explanation needed...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnBGPTIjjEw - Mononuclear, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2That is also not capoeira.. Samba and Capoeira are 2 very different styles of dance.
- stotty, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2Whilst the slow pace of their training could be put down to the inexperience of the participants doing the drills, for tori to place the knife-holding hand under his arm-pit is just stupid, it will get you killed. Most of the techniques were badly ripped-off from Jujitsu systems and the weapons defences are more likely to get you harmed than following your gut instinct to run away.
- Unclickable, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2couple of more moves http://yuxt.com/elke%20das/breakdance
- inactive, on 10/27/2007, -2/+4Very loosely tied to martial arts. Even that thread is very tenuously tied.
- Elderon, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2Cool video, but not very effective fighting. I would never try that in a fight, first off your just asking to be nailed in the head or back during your flip and secondly what happens if you don't land right or slip and fall or something during your flip? last thing you need is to knock your own ass out because you were trying to be all fancy. Simple is the most effective.
- Culiada, on 10/27/2007, -0/+2I'd expect much more than that. Black ninjas are the perfect stealthy assassins, just as long as they don't smile.
- ernieoporto, on 10/28/2007, -0/+2The guy with the staff was cool, but the rest was gymnastics. For some real practical martial arts, look up some Bas Rutten vids...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3K-mrlYG7Y - ElliotShoe, on 10/27/2007, -3/+5Definitely not capoeira. This is more like wushu, which is a basically a martial art to make kung fu movies.
- burden555, on 10/27/2007, -1/+3old but still nice.
- shazzb0t, on 10/27/2007, -0/+1I am talking about the John Paul Mitchell comps. Not John Paul Mitchell sponsored 'martial artists'.
