- StealTheRR, on 03/16/2008, -4/+52Isn't it weird how even when we're dealing with someone who made his fame entirely through writing music, we're still compelled to try and figure out how he looked, as if that would tell us more about him? :)
- slsanity, on 03/16/2008, -3/+38His music is so sublime it's comforting to see humanity behind it.
- Beanstudd2, on 03/16/2008, -1/+29I wish i could bury you into the earth's core
- papavb, on 03/16/2008, -0/+26ooooh he better update his facebook profile pic soon
- mtdaugherty, on 03/16/2008, -0/+25I believe many mozart songs come standard on cell phones.
- SquigglyP, on 03/16/2008, -5/+25I've got a tongue, too, but I don't wanna know how he tasted.
- CAPITALLETTERS, on 03/16/2008, -10/+30That looks shopped, I can tell from some of the pixels and having seen quite a few shops in my time.

- sasathi, on 03/16/2008, -0/+12Wolfgang is such a badass name
- gwellington, on 03/16/2008, -7/+19He doesn't look like Tom Hulce at all.
- Bender1012, on 03/16/2008, -1/+12Greatest composer ever.
- thecoolestguy, on 03/16/2008, -1/+12We generally don't taste the people we know, but we do see them. Image is a pretty important facet of our conception of others.
- katrayun, on 03/16/2008, -0/+10Wow, a geocities 'site unavailable' page.
- alexonix, on 03/16/2008, -0/+9Wow, a geocities 'site unavailable' page that wants to teach me about data transfers.
- SquigglyP, on 03/16/2008, -2/+9Mozart apparently a big fan of the color red...
- PrototypeV, on 03/16/2008, -0/+7Because that is in fact a song composed by Mozart.
- Joshuarr, on 03/16/2008, -3/+9Here's an artists rendition of what he would look like in modern times:
http://www.labbrain.com/temp/modernMoz.jpg - mostlysane, on 03/16/2008, -0/+6I dont care if no one else gets it, I thought this was funny :) +1
- RhodesSkolar, on 03/16/2008, -0/+6Marvelous composer! The really sad part is that now he's decomposing.
- mostlysane, on 03/16/2008, -0/+5I'm guessing what he means by 'suspect' is the use of the word 'hankering'.
Most people don't know that Mozart composed most of his early works while riding herd on an Austrian cattle drive. Many of the characters that were portrayed by John Wayne in his career were actually immigrants from that period of Austrian history, which is how the word came into the English language. - inactive, on 03/16/2008, -1/+6NO, BEETHOVEN
- DarkDx, on 03/16/2008, -0/+4[citation needed]
- DarkDx, on 03/16/2008, -1/+5The portrait looks much more polished that the one in the left, it also shows a very accurate representation of the face (in case the portrait wasn't altered to make him look "better" or skinnier or whatever). Nice. Also, the left portrait looks like one of those gears of war screenshots with the massive contrast. lol.
- lintmonkey, on 03/16/2008, -1/+5There's something fishy about your comment, but I'm not sure what.
- mrroquemore, on 03/16/2008, -1/+5This reminds me of the previously undiscovered manuscript of Mozart's, discovered in someone's attic in the Midwest a few years ago. The mystery continues.
- nwoantibody, on 03/16/2008, -1/+4So... in whose' basement was this found?
- ScottMitchell, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3It's hard to pick a "best" composer of all time because the style and quality of instruments and skill of players varied so greatly from classical music's infancy in the 1600s through it's last great showing in the late 1800s. Plus the "rules" changes from a more formalized, mathematical model to one that allowed more expression and individuality. My Mt. Rushmore of all time composers would be: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Tchaikowsky.
- Diggnoramus, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3I hope someone took a death mask of that page.
- tobias1482, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3Why not and who else would? This is a portrait, and not the work of a famous artist who "art professors" have focused on. Eisen is more of a historian, then a "music professor". This is historical detective work. They knew there was a painting from that period of time that was of Mozart due to his letters, etc. Eisen is an authority on Mozart's life. This painting apparently matches several criteria.
- gnimsh, on 03/16/2008, -0/+3And the people of Salzburg go crazy for it!!!
- RobotBuddha, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2Image is for some people, ok, most people. There's still enough out there who identify people strongly by other factors to avoid putting it in as a human absolute. I'm pretty bad at recognizing people by their face, but very good at doing so by voice and intonation.
- avengingturnip, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2Dugg for knowing Mozart's hometown.
- merwin, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2Unless you happen to be blind
- tw0k1ngs, on 03/16/2008, -6/+8Who needs portraits when we have his death mask?
http://www.geocities.com/mozart_lover83/Death_Mask ... - Patogrande, on 03/16/2008, -0/+218th century fart jokes.
- gurp13, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2I think Mozart is a pretty cool guy. Eh plays good muzik and doesn't afraid of anything.
- TheRedeemer, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2Don't mock me. "Amadeus" is one of my all-time favorite movies! The best representation of a musician, I believe.
- twirk8888, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2the wikipedia editors of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfgang_Amadeus_Moza ... will be up in arms about this now.
- RNEMESiS42, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2Wolfie!
- bjornski, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2At least you're being a bit more creative in your ***** spamming attempts. But still...
buried, blocked, reported.
And I dont' know why, but whenever I wish someone to die in a fire, the link gets removed.
So please, go die in a ***** fire. - bluebirdgm, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2And in a couple of hundred years, people are going to be compelled to look up pop music stars of our time, and try in vain to figure out how they actually SOUNDED.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2Probably none of his songs do. Themes from his symphonies, concertos and operas do. Not everything is a "song." There's more to music than the top 40.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -0/+2Don't taste the people we know? Speak for yourself.
- ReyX, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2*insert weird-ass laughter*
- mostlysane, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2dugg just because it wasn't the rickroll that I was so sure it would be
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -0/+2I do. I want to know how he smelt, too, but his letters already give me a pretty good idea.
- bowe, on 03/16/2008, -0/+1actually, aristocratic men often cared deeply about their appearance. Would you expect someone like the King of England to be wearing a t-shirt and jeans?
