RIP Mom & Dad - chaosmachine, on 10/10/2007, -1/+152wow, that's the best saw-a-man-in-half trick i've seen.
- cavie2002, on 10/10/2007, -1/+140david hasselhoff must think hes piss drunk again
- TheGreenBastard, on 10/10/2007, -10/+112The midget should have been a clue...
The man sawed in half was actually two men: One with no legs; the other, a midget with stilts of some sort.
Yes, magic tricks are that elaborate. - loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -4/+79dugg for the midget
- Miyazaki, on 10/10/2007, -4/+78It's an illusion, a tick is something a whore does for money!
....or candy. :) - MasterSharma, on 10/10/2007, -2/+52Whoa, not only are the tricks well done, its how the routine is nicely strung together, awesome act.
- luke16, on 10/10/2007, -1/+51How the hell!!??
- pimpbot1979, on 10/10/2007, -4/+46The trick is actual surprisingly simple. First he builds a motorized leg rig operated by an assistant offstage. Then he places a mirror just above the table in such a way as to reflect the background. Next he gets Hasselhoff liquered up and finally he makes a deal with the devil. All hail the son of the dark lord!!
- TaterSalad77, on 10/10/2007, -1/+34"The Final Countdown" would have made it better
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+31There is no secret here, he's just a really good doctor.
- awgg919, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25R.I.P. Arrested Development
- Walory, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21The obvious answer is that this is real.
- chowderdick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16Watch carefully at 1:03... something strange happens
- raulbot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16Chris Angel can't do it live and without any editing of the video.
- MrLazySmurf, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15LOL... I think its one of those people who have no lower body...
- foxymcfox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13The "liquor-up the Hoff" technique is one of the illusion designer's oldest secrets. How dare you reveal it here in public. I'm going to sick the International Brotherhood of Magicians on you...and they'll make you "disappear," and by that I mean they will kill you.
- rhinopig, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14I don't think its a guy with no legs and a midget with stilts since the guy with no legs wouldn't have anything below his stomach and as far as I know there aren't to many people without a pelvis of any kind. No what I think is that it's a midget with 'arm stilts' as the torso (look at the way he bends his arms) and a normal guy with the top half of him hidden inside the table. I don't know how the reassemble him since they cut away.
- foxymcfox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14They didn't. I'm an illusion designer...trust me the editors of this show are not "in" on this at all.
- an7agonist, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11Uhm.. No...
- dajuggernaut, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12and Sharon Osbourne must still think she is doing LSD
- HeyyyyyyBrother, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9...or cocaine...
- foxymcfox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+10Rose bush and a porcupine...
...See I can blurt out random stuff too. - themastersb, on 10/10/2007, -3/+112 midgets.... That's the answer
- ziffel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6And prior to now, seen exactly 0 (zero) times by me. Thanks for keeping count, though.
- foxymcfox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6He does this effect in front of a live audience (In a relatively small theater) regularly, so editing is not necessary. Those cuts were the choice of the director/editor, not Kevin.
- everfalling, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9or we're just curious, and like to know how things are done. personally the illusion is fantastic, but the method would be even neater. i mean, think of the time and effort put into even thinking or something like that. it's cool to see the magic behind the magic.
- Dokument, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6midget and amputee
- Satanael, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Look at the way he runs off stage (how he's leaning to one side slightly), a two-person midget thing would lose balance and fall over! And look how long his arms are! They're real too!
- loganhid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5This are just ordinary people with extraordinary powers and their next job is to save the cheerleader and the world
- pumacub, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Too bad the trick he did after this was the worst trick ever.
- econofast, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I think it all stems from his first special, where the big finale was doing the Balducci Levitation, and he had the balls to edit in a faked shot of himself floating, because though that trick does impress people in person, it looks like crap on tv. That, and he has the mannerisms and charisma of the smelly guy next to you on the subway. He does have some cool tricks though.
- foxymcfox, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Do you even know what blogspam is?
- kjm16, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4No.
- borninda818, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4rock candy?
- Badaudio, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Why can't it just be magic?? huh?
- holygram, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I do not think that word means what you think it means.
- foxymcfox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4But WHY would you put effort into reverse engineering?
When I design an illusion I startw ith nothing, no concept, no final effect, no constraints and I create a unique effect from that. I design illusions to be creative. What possible purpose, other than to immediately whet your own fascination with the notion of "That's impossible, how does that work?"
Once you have an effect there are rarely many methods to choose from, so the real creativity comes from making a unique effect. So, really, why do you want to know? I'm really just interested to see what you have to say, there is no need for name calling...I assume we are all capable of a reasonably mature discourse. - Alex00r, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8it really shouldn't be too difficult after finding a man with no legs and a person with no upper body - it doesn't really seem like a trick.
- Ibox, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4That is the worlds best Doctor.
- skywiselh, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Spoiler Warning: This is only one person in the costume of the guy who gets cut in half. The person is just crouching in the costume, watch how 'thick' the upper half is when the magician turns him. The legs contain stilts and some kind of simple mechanism to raise the leg when the guy's on the table (the raising of the leg even looks fake, look closely). The midget in the top part custume just crawls back into the legs when they put him together, you can see him even wiggle into the legs while the magician is 'stapling' - the legs contain stilts, just look how he walks at the very end. Impressive still and totally doable without any video tricks.
- npiv, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4how dull your life must be ethan
- mb3581, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3pumacub is right, the "Illusion" he did in the next show sucked ass. It was a "reanimated" dead hand and as the Hoff said it had no payoff.
- econofast, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I was thinking the same thing while watching a behind-the-scenes documentary about Forrest Gump. Why do people have to go questioning the "magic" that Tom Hanks met JFK and Gary Sinise cut his legs off and had them sewed back on for that movie? The single most intriguing thing about magic is that it appears to violate the laws of physics. Without questioning HOW they did it, there is no reason to be impressed.
That said, awesome trick! - RubberBinder, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4When did she stop?
- BryanTravers, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Dear David Hasselhoff,
Don't dance during a magic trick. It just confirms everyone's theory that you never have any idea what's happening ever.
-Bryan - ajb2015, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4anyone who diggs him down obviously doesn't realize he is joking.
- whatthefu, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3And this guy didn't even make it to the final round.
- npiv, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2When i asked my dealer, "I need some candy holmes".
He laughed at me, and told me to go back to the 70s - loves2spooge, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3exaggerate much?
