"Yes"
"You did? Why didn't you come out?"
"You said ... that uh.. we did this for the show"

/sighs
No, seriously, go to your room. - joel8x, on 10/16/2009, -2/+51The dad starts lying so bad to try and cover that up too. I hope they all get thrown in jail, especially that little bit ruining boy!!
- Bukowsky, on 10/15/2009, -1/+45I would never want to play hide-and-seek with that kid.
- LBUCHA, on 10/15/2009, -2/+43he's in TRRRROOOUUUBBBLLLLEEEEE
- HeDiggMe, on 10/15/2009, -0/+32That would get a triple pun score if there was an electrical storm.
- IIAmusedII, on 10/16/2009, -1/+31The parents seems like they'll do anything for publicity. I have to wonder if they staged the whole thing.
- SchrodingersCar, on 10/15/2009, -1/+31You see? He was hiding the whole time! NOW do you believe I'm from the future?
- nanowerx, on 10/16/2009, -0/+25LOL at the fart in the video at 43 seconds in
- senseilmno, on 10/16/2009, -2/+25my fav meme so far.....
if balloonboy was never in the balloon,
is he still balloonboy? - seaDragon, on 10/16/2009, -2/+23Epic Fail. The kid gave it all away. I feel sorry for the family. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wI6UONWCq7A
- tcquad, on 10/16/2009, -0/+18Feel sorry? They set up their little kid to get a few more minutes of fame.
After getting invested in the saga this afternoon, I'm so pissed off right now. Fine them. Jail them. They wasted police time and money, plus their balloon wandered into the airport's airspace, potentially endangering lives. - dselliott, on 10/16/2009, -1/+19Dollars to donuts, this whole thing was a hoax. Someone has some 'splaining to do.
- InfinitySnatch, on 10/16/2009, -0/+17if stoopkid leaves his stoop,
is he still stoopkid? - Tarkaan, on 10/16/2009, -2/+19No Child Left Behind fails again :(
- duewydo, on 10/16/2009, -0/+16I am willing 2 bet that was the dad ***** him self after the son blows the cover.
- Coolmatt49, on 10/16/2009, -0/+16STOOP KID'S AFRAID TO LEAVE HIS STOOP!
- sagradia, on 10/16/2009, -0/+14Watch how the mom quietly says "No! ..."
Instead of being puzzled, it looks like they've been caught and she is trying to hush hush things.
There's a tone of insincerity in her voice. - SimonWatson, on 10/16/2009, -0/+14This youtube comment sums it up nicely
"Poor little boy! He accidentally told on his parents about the hoax...lol " - duewydo, on 10/16/2009, -0/+14at 43~44 seconds you can hear the dad crap his pants. baaahhaha
- TheObviousChild, on 10/16/2009, -0/+14Dude, I rewound the DVR so my wife could hear that...then rewound it again ...just because.
I left work today thinking that the ***** parents probably just did this for attention...then it blew way out of control.
If you have seen the episode of Wife Swap these freaks were on, you'd believe it too. They absolutely SUCK as parents. - StigNordas, on 10/15/2009, -0/+14They should stick the kid in the balloon and keep him hovering over the house all day as punishment.
- Tarkaan, on 10/16/2009, -0/+13HE'S GON' GET IT
- Subduction, on 10/16/2009, -0/+13Nice job on the follow-up Wolf. Does he even listen to people after he asks them a question? Does he even understand what is and is not news?
Andy Richter should have his job. - RandomEyes, on 10/15/2009, -1/+14Congratulations. Your name is Falcon and you will be featured on a Fox hoax show 20 years down the road... tricking us with a giant old fashioned popcorn bag.
- Shwaavay, on 10/16/2009, -1/+13The balloon was for the show. He was scolded for messing around with the balloon.
- kurupttek, on 10/16/2009, -2/+14yo balloon boy, i'm really happy, and imma let you finish, but anne frank had the best attic hideout of all time. OF ALL TIME.
- agoody117, on 10/16/2009, -0/+11while this was a captivating story, should this demand the entire attention of the 24 hour cable news stations...i mean isnt the media there to inform not entertain?
this is the very definition of what is wrong with the media in our country -- out to get the quick ratings not do the job that our founding fathers intended to have them do (what pbs / npr / cspan does)
-----
that being said --- that kid is going to have a GREAT story tell when he is older - proliance, on 10/16/2009, -0/+11Nothing happened and nobody was hurt. I'll bet Nancy Grace screams, makes accusations and whips herself into a frenzy tonight.
- RcFromTwitter, on 10/16/2009, -3/+13Part of me thinks that this was some sort of publicity stunt... Otherwise that's bad parenting for not keeping tabs on where your kids are.
- MaTT2011, on 10/16/2009, -0/+9Or just look in your own house?
Call me crazy but thats the first thing i would have done. - TrevorBradley, on 10/16/2009, -0/+9He wanted to follow up, but he had to "leave it there".
(ref:DailyShow) - PrideThruPwnage, on 10/16/2009, -0/+8His attic.
- robbob, on 10/15/2009, -0/+8yeah, reminded me of Jiffy Pop :D
- dselliott, on 10/16/2009, -0/+7Wolfie only hears the sound of his own voice.
- casspa, on 10/15/2009, -1/+8What a little git!
- RationalCenter, on 10/16/2009, -2/+9Somebody should have figured out early on that he wasn't in it, because that balloon probably wasn't large enough to lift him. 20-foot diameter balloon, five feet tall - if it was a perfect cylinder it would be a shade over 1,500 cubic feet. One cubic foot lifts 28 grams, so 1,500 cubic feet would lift 99 pounds. That would include the balloon itself and the plywood section underneath. And it wasn't a cylinder - it was a saucer shape, which would reduce the volume by at least 30%. A child his size would weigh 40 to 50 pounds, so I suppose it would be theoretically possible, but that would have to be one really light plywood structure on the bottom and one really skinny kid - and it obviously would have landed a whole lot earlier if he had been on board.
- brandonb, on 10/15/2009, -2/+9Bow before the great Andross.
- MaTT2011, on 10/16/2009, -0/+7Jesus christ, CNN was doing just that all god damned day. It was ridiculous. All they did was stare at a balloon while repeating, "we have no idea whats going on, but heres what MIGHT be going on; Get scared folks.....could YOUR kids be abducted by a balloon next?"
Seriously, the whole event really illustrated why 24 hour news channels just need to die. - mrdude4290, on 10/16/2009, -0/+7The parents set it up so they could get ***** reality show for themselves.
- 1x253, on 10/16/2009, -0/+6Not to mention the balloon would have wobbled from the weight and would NOT have floated so effortlessly.
- zuiquan, on 10/16/2009, -0/+6So Falcon runs off to hide in the attic because he got yelled at?
So who's not pussified now? You Falcon, you're not pussified? Really? Are you sure? Because I think I'm going to beg to differ on that score.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBWJXXgaYBo - MelekTawus, on 10/16/2009, -0/+6At 0:34 the kid admits that his parents put him up to it. They were on TV once ("Wife Swap"), enjoyed the attention, and decided to get more with a lame, unbelievable hoax that ended up costing the taxpayers thousands of dollars.
- chuckDontSurf, on 10/16/2009, -0/+6Is the thumbnail the kid's pre-conception pic?
- Subduction, on 10/16/2009, -1/+7So forcing your kid to hide in the garage in a box while convincing the world that your child is in mortal danger or perhaps fell to his death as a publicity stunt isn't bad parenting?
- MScrip, on 10/16/2009, -0/+6They will show this on "Wildest Police Chases" right before the guy steals the tank. You always gotta finish with the tank.
- dagnabbit, on 10/16/2009, -0/+5My question is, for what show?
- SirBruce, on 10/16/2009, -1/+6Your skill in hide and seek has increased in 1 (375).
- dutchguilder2, on 10/16/2009, -0/+5The kid's name is "Falcon"?! WTF kind of parenting is that?
