- MrBabyMan, on 09/02/2008, -6/+52Not to nose in here on a submission I'm not involved with, but it looks like all three of you submitted this within a minute of each other. Digg's submission process has NO WAY of knowing that the other two submitters are in the process of submitting, so its default action is to allow all simultaneous submissions to proceed, and just append each one with a _2, _3, _4, etc. This happens A LOT to popular submitters and on popular sites, and I truly believe no one here intentionally duped each other. Here's a great example of an extreme case of this, all the EXACT URL, all submitted at the EXACT time:

You want to solve this problem, don't blame each other, complain to Digg. - FountainOfTruth, on 09/02/2008, -6/+31The article is about GREAT presidents
- 9bpm9, on 09/02/2008, -0/+24Funny, about every one of those presidents had some type of war during their administration.
- chrissku, on 09/02/2008, -0/+22"Born with only two of the eight testicles that he would possess by the end of his life"
Great line. - exformation, on 09/02/2008, -5/+20I came in here to say just that. It surprises me that people will submit a story despite an identical title, description, and link.
- Fhwqhgads, on 09/02/2008, -2/+17Can someone explain why Cracked articles get duped so often? I click the Digg button from Cracked where it had no diggs, which submits the story automatically. Digg tells me it's original, but once again it turns out someone else submitted it. Is Digg too slow and can't keep up with the submissions or something?
- hamobu, on 09/02/2008, -0/+13No Adrew Jackson, man who sent his former Native american alies on a death march AFTER supreme court told him not to do that?
- manishmohan1986, on 09/02/2008, -26/+38So now you have duplicated me and one other fellow...is this the way to submit an article??
First submitted here http://digg.com/comedy/6_Great_US_Presidents_and_T ...
second here
http://digg.com/comedy/6_Great_US_Presidents_and_T ... - babykicker, on 09/02/2008, -1/+12Where the hell is Andrew Jackson on that list? He definitely wasn't great but he is on the 20$ bill.
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -0/+10Wait, the Republicans are the war party while Obama is also actively pushing for a surge in Afghanistan? Never mind, I forgot, when Obama is for it, it's a good thing.
Not to mention FDR getting us into WWII, Wilson getting us into in WWI, Truman's Korea War, Clinton in Bosnia....yeah Democrats never engage in war. - Calinthalus, on 09/02/2008, -1/+11Lincoln did suspend Habeus Corpus. He detained thousands of protesters for the duration of the war. He also slapped down some "Peace Democrats" (aka Copperheads) and threw them behind bars for "seditious behavior". Read your history.
- Spoomeister, on 09/03/2008, -0/+10Dugg for this:
"Teddy Roosevelt is pretty much the manliest creature to have ever existed, all the more so because he didn't start out that way. Born with only two of the eight testicles that he would possess by the end of his life, Roosevelt spent his early childhood as an asthmatic nerd, but through a strict exercise regimen and sheer force of testostotastic will, he managed to grow up into one mean rough-riding, trust-busting son-of-a-bitch. " - jgtg32a, on 09/02/2008, -1/+11You didn't read the article did you Harry Truman had Bush levels of unpopularity, and is considered one of the best because in the end he was right.
Scary isn't it? - Fhwqhgads, on 09/02/2008, -1/+10I click it through Cracked to submit and no duplicates come up. it's Digg's fault if you ask me.
- stix213, on 09/03/2008, -0/+9I had assumed what they were going to bring up about JFK was him dragging America into France's vietnam war. Maybe they are saving that for another article.
- souljaboy6666, on 09/02/2008, -3/+11FDR FORGOT POLAND
- Vimmy, on 09/02/2008, -2/+10Dugg despite the phrase "might of".
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -2/+10Shut the ***** up manishmohan - you dupe people everyday from cracked. You just got a taste of your own medicine, deal with it.
Go look at Manishmohan's last 10 submissions and see how many of them say "_2" in the url. - MasterGrief, on 09/03/2008, -2/+10The Man knows his digg.
- wadge22, on 09/02/2008, -4/+10No worries. He'll only make it to this list
http://www.courant.com/news/politics/ny-campaign-f ... - MasterGrief, on 09/03/2008, -0/+7I love the Cracked articles about historical figures. Entertaining AND image-shattering!
- jordansampson, on 09/02/2008, -1/+8find it odd that cracked would take down this article yesterday and then post it back up today. Wonder how different it is?
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -1/+7Maybe I was a bit harsh on the kid but seriously, you toss up a dupe every single day so its just ironic to see you calling fowl now. I dupe stories to on accident, and when I do realize it, I throw the original submitters link in the comment section of my post. Its common courtesy.
- Mothrog, on 09/02/2008, -7/+13I guess FDR gets a pass on blackmailing the Supreme Court to pass his New Deal legislation. Nice to see they also give him credit for ending the Great Depression, when all his idiotic attempts did was extend it. The only thing that pulled the US out of the Great Depression was our involvement in WWII.

- Mandeponium, on 09/02/2008, -0/+6I clicked the digg button on cracked.com and it brought me here. Must be the right one!
- gn0stik, on 09/03/2008, -0/+6They forgot a couple. Like, you know... the rest of the presidents.
They all did good things and bad things.
Worst of them all, a seemingly benign president named Woodrow Wilson, who is single handedly responsible for our current state of government, in every way imaginable.
Bad, bad man. Who didn't even know he was bad. Neither did we at the time.
Sad, really. - CATSCEO2, on 09/02/2008, -1/+6Wait, what the *****?
- reticulate, on 09/03/2008, -0/+5Because a bunch of people see it as an easy way to get to the front page.
See also: XKCD, The Onion, etc. - cnot3, on 09/02/2008, -2/+7Lincoln did suspend Habeas Corpus, it's common knowledge. War often gives leaders the excuse they need to subjugate the Constitution, and he was no exception.
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -1/+6Kennedy....not too surprised. His *****-ups explain a lot about what happened in Dealey Plaza.
- Pirate42, on 09/03/2008, -2/+7Lincoln did a lot worse ***** then suspend habeas corpus
He also conducted the civil war for like 3 months before ever calling congress to get the okay, and by then they had no choice but to go along with him.
The guy was a dick. - trakie, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4wait, what? that is one of the stupidest comments i have ever read, so stupid in fact that i am actually replying to it. did you actually read it at all when you were typing it? just because we happen to call it murder today doesnt mean it wasnt committed before today. and im absolutely positive someone stole something from another before people could even speak, so does that mean because there was no word for stealing that he didnt steal something?
- Hangly, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4Right about 1963 Kennedy figured out he was being played by the CIA (the Bay of Pigs fiasco was supposed to have manipulated him into declaring war on Cuba.) He fired Alan Dulles, who was considered a god, and crippled the agency by declaring that spy operations would henceforth be the responsibility of the military. He also went head-on against the Federal Reserve by attempting to transfer the printing of money back to the US Treasury.
That's what got him killed. - Mothrog, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4"What Lincoln did was perfectly legal under the Constitution."
Not according to the Supreme Court in Ex Parte Milligan, a case which reviewed the suspension of Habeas Corpus by Lincoln, which found that suspension of HC is not constitutional while civilian courts are still in operation, which was the case in many of the places in question. - trakie, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4the article title is: "6 GREAT US Presidents", sorry i changed great to all caps, but you kinda missed it before making a comment...
- bugsy187, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4I came in here to say just that. It surprises me that people will submit a story despite an identical title, description, and link.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -0/+4Of which, banging Marilyn was the biggest.
- j1ggy, on 09/02/2008, -0/+4Can't we all just get along?
- EntropyFan, on 09/03/2008, -1/+5Must I shoot a simple-minded soldier boy who deserts, while I must not touch a hair of a wily agitator who induces him to desert? - Lincoln
The Constitution allows for the suspension of Habeas Corpus, it just a little vague on who determines when. ( http://www.csulb.edu/~crsmith/lincoln.html )
Congress passed the Habeas Corpus Act of 1863, showing those who opposed the actions of Lincoln that Congress approved, proving Lincoln had been correct in his decision.
Subjugate the Constitution? No, he read it and understood it a hell of a lot better then anyone here. - digggggggggg, on 09/02/2008, -3/+6Meh, it's still a helluva lot better than the stuff some non-US presidents/whatevertheirtitleis have done.
- Scheitbag, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3Was thinking the same thing....Wilson got elected on bankster blood money and then rolled over and let them enact a few insignificant pieces of legislation...ever hear of income tax? the federal reserve? thank Wilson the Traitor.
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -0/+3There is no difference. Iraq is a sovereign nation that did not attack us and did not ask us for help. Afghanistan is a sovereign nation that did not attack us and did not ask us for help. That's one of the key issues in the whole ***** basis for the outrage toward these wars....or was, until one became Obama's cause.
People who are suddenly championing our actions in Afghanistan after 8 years of bitching need to ask themselves one thing. Why? - apextek, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3she had a thing for kennedys
- jgtg32a, on 09/02/2008, -1/+4I want a link to the comic books
- 30thElement, on 09/02/2008, -2/+5What everyone seems to be forgetting in the Habeas Corpus debate is the Constitution. Article 1, Section 9,
"The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."
What Lincoln did was perfectly legal under the Constitution. - Hangly, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3It's awesome how people these days are sophisticated enough to even understand jokes like these, let alone enjoy them. When I was a lad our political understanding wasn't much more complex than the plots of Rocky IV and Red Heat.
- inactive, on 09/02/2008, -0/+3one word....BLOWBACK
- HaloZero, on 09/03/2008, -0/+3Okay, technically Roosevelt did the screwing Poland thing to get Soviet Union in the war aginst Japan. So its more a bad decision.
- crazzy88ss, on 09/02/2008, -1/+4Gee, I wonder who diggers are going to list #7 as ;)
