- davidave, on 12/30/2007, -9/+57buried for being inaccurate...those are LED lights and the bill only costs 300 a month, the 4700 is from the hydroponic pot farm in his basement
- kinggimped, on 12/30/2007, -0/+44If I got a bill like that, I'd blow a fuse.
- yayster, on 12/30/2007, -0/+23the average digger didn't put them up in the first place.
- ChrisAllen, on 12/30/2007, -0/+15Time to switch to LED's.
Looks cool though. - josho, on 12/30/2007, -2/+16that was 35,000 for a DIABETES non-profit, not his own personal wealth
you are dense. - Myztry, on 12/30/2007, -0/+13Our business pays over AU$40,000 per month. The boss used to pay the bill with a personal rewards credit card, then have the company reimburse him. The bank doesn't allow that anymore.. No idea why :)
- josho, on 12/30/2007, -0/+12most brightest?
- Betrayer, on 12/30/2007, -7/+19the guy says he pays about 100 a day for the 52 days he runs it so about 5200 for 2 months.
BUT he also said he got 35,000 in money donations and 10,000 in clothing. did you guys watch the same video i did? - skodai, on 12/30/2007, -0/+12WTF?
- down4twenty, on 12/30/2007, -1/+11it would be ironic if instead of diabetes the donations were going towards conservation of the environment or something
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -1/+11The average digger doesn't like taking down decorations after Christmas.
- Spuy767, on 12/30/2007, -1/+8Store != house?
- mbm1512, on 12/30/2007, -2/+8I guess these people haven't realized yet that it's not just vehicles that contribute to pollution, and possibly global warming. That energy didn't just appear.
- Workster, on 12/30/2007, -0/+6I did but now that I saw that he thinks AIDS is manmade I kind of regret it.
- Neoanarchist, on 12/30/2007, -1/+7Where's this guy live again? I just wanna see the uhh...lights...or whatever...............
- CaviMike, on 12/30/2007, -0/+5Santa ≠ Jesus
- KevinCarmony, on 12/30/2007, -0/+5I actually was driven by this house a couple of years ago on a trip to Edmonton to visit a friend there. It was quite spectacular. They also have a street in Edmonton called where every house goes all out, I believe that may have been the Candy-cane Lane he referred to. They also have a pretty cool drive-through light exhibit called Brightnights. Edmonton is a pretty nice place to be for Christmas...if you like the snow, cold and Christmas lights!
Kevin - bmunichman, on 12/30/2007, -0/+5my question is, who dug him up???
- mattwalton56, on 12/30/2007, -3/+7I see what you did there.
- dungbeetle, on 12/30/2007, -0/+4I don't think I'd like to live next to that house at Christmas time.
- hphickman, on 12/30/2007, -0/+4You mean watch it from the original source? What a novel idea!
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -0/+4I wouldn't call this the best display of Christmas lights. But it is pretty nice looking.
- Dachublez, on 12/30/2007, -0/+4I think you miss understand the conversion rate. 1USD=.982CAD or 1CAD = 1.0183USD so CAD > USD.
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -0/+4It's not OVER $9000 ?!
- plr4ever, on 12/30/2007, -0/+4I need a sheriifs badge that says Digg police on it...
REPLY BUTTON PEOPLE! - Betrayer, on 12/30/2007, -0/+3and why does this mean the non profit organization wouldnt pay him 5000 for his electric and take the other 30,000. the guy actually wouldnt be making a profit, he only said the power company couldnt supplement his power or they would have to do it for everyone.
im not dense, im a Cynic, and i dont take things at face value like most Sheeple. - CthulhuDawn, on 12/30/2007, -0/+3Serious props to this guy though. He doesn't expect a handout and believes "everyone should pay their own." He doesn't charge a damn thing. And he's put it to a good cause.
- torontoliam, on 12/30/2007, -0/+3Brilliant!
- stilzchen, on 12/30/2007, -0/+3"The owner of one of the most brightest private houses in the world doesn't mind to pay his debts in January..."
That sentence makes me cringe. - themastersb, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2Canada. Just ask Fred when you come here. He'll point you in the right direction.
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2Thats what you get for using so many inefficient incandescent bulbs, should have switched to energy savers.
- ZoomBoy, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2Accent? I thought the guy had a speech impediment!
- twisterrust, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2you are correct but I would not mind 5000 either, I am sure he gets tons of gifts(from article) and money. Looks really profitable!!
- TyPhyter, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2yeah thats nothing, this house in my town used like three or four times as many lights, it got to the point where it brought in so much tourism that the city pays his electric bill for December.
- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -1/+3Sarcasm, dick.
- pancak3s, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2The lights are simply a cover up for his grow op.
- RetardoCrisp, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2Ha...I used to see his house all the time when I lived in E-Town. Its amazing! Yeah, Candy Cane Lane is the one you most likely saw KevinCarmony. Pretty cool and well worth checking out if you ever go to Edmonton..that and an Oilers game just to experience the fans and the noise!
- ubergmr, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1This is nothing, here are some photos of a display by my house
http://www.williammaloney.com/Misc/Christmas/2004/ ... - torontoliam, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1Based on the accent, I'd say somewhere in the north or possibly Alberta.
- MichelleLDevon, on 12/31/2007, -0/+1Wow. I had trouble putting up one string of lights this year...
- stfucupcake, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1lol. can't imagine being his neighbor!

- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -1/+2TL;DR
- CompUComp, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1This guy watches too much of the movie 'Deck the Halls'! lol
- isntreal, on 12/30/2007, -1/+2That light setup is nothing compared to these guys: http://www.lindsaylights.com/
- kinggimped, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1Hey. You. Shut up.
- DJPRIME90, on 12/30/2007, -0/+1lmao, guess having LEDs didn't help too much...
