(Oh, come on. You knew it was coming) - Burento, on 07/25/2008, -1/+180People in the US don't become 2 faced until much later in life..
- deadlift, on 07/25/2008, -0/+111I wonder what her vision looks like.
- Burento, on 07/25/2008, -1/+112Wow.. What is really interesting is that all parts function. She sucks her thumbs through one mouth while eating though the other.. wtf
- netneutrality, on 07/26/2008, -1/+91I wonder if she'll learn to wink each eye independently, and talk with each mouth separately. And if she sneezes, will both noses sneeze at once? And if she sneezes with one nose, will all of her eyes close or just the ones on the same side? What about vomiting, hiccups, burps -- will they come out of both mouths? Such an amazing child invites so many questions....
- Eyesaw, on 07/25/2008, -6/+83omg poor thing!
- eltrev, on 07/26/2008, -1/+75She'll make a great politician some day.
- ileftfark, on 07/25/2008, -2/+75He did, but when they found out about health benefits, 401k's, and free day care, he shut it down.
And you have a Homer avatar??? - inactive, on 07/26/2008, -1/+61I looked like that when I walked by a nude beach
- asurroca, on 07/26/2008, -1/+56Hey, living her life out being worshiped by the villagers is a lot better gig than she'd get in any developed first world area... imagine if she were born in Jersey.
- NewsFeed, on 07/25/2008, -16/+69She is considered a miracle.. the villagers dance and sing for her. Only in Asia...
- Xoti, on 07/26/2008, -3/+45Whats with India and extra body parts
- estvir, on 07/26/2008, -1/+42Or a Batman nemesis.
- inactive, on 07/25/2008, -2/+42Yes, but does she believe in chance?
- MaxMWood, on 07/25/2008, -3/+42Lets just hope she never needs glasses. Then it'll be 8 eyes!
- inactive, on 07/25/2008, -7/+46Man that is sad. Very unfortunate for that little girl.
- StevieJanowski, on 04/02/2009, -5/+43That is an awesome dimple she is going to get all the dudes
- eltrev, on 07/26/2008, -3/+41What do you mean? She's a reincarnated God!
- netneutrality, on 07/26/2008, -1/+39It's stereo stereo vision. Maybe she can visualize in 4D.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -0/+37Hey, if this girl has to live life with two faces, I'd rather she be raised in a place where they think it's a reincarnation than a freak show.
- ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -3/+38I know the locals consider her a reincarnation, but as an outsider I think it's sad. Who knows if her inner organs can support her growth, and even if they can it would alter her way of life drastically.
- diggystardust, on 07/26/2008, -1/+34the timing is rather ironic isn't it . . .
- Dozernotz, on 07/26/2008, -1/+322 faced girls remind me of my ex-girlfriend.
- FadieZ, on 07/25/2008, -0/+29Yes, yes I did.
- Hillsfar, on 07/26/2008, -2/+31Better than here in the U.S. where people would treat her like a freak and doctors might try to surgically remove one of her faces - even if there may be two brains - and therefore two persons - in one shared skull.
And better than in Africa, where if she wasn't murdered for being a freak, they'd somehow find some reason to harvest her for her body parts like they do with albinos in Tanzania.
At least in India she'll feel loved and welcome. - stinger666, on 07/26/2008, -3/+31India: Supermutant land.
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -3/+31not sure... how to joke about this one...
something about not having to look both ways before crossing the street
it's all I have :-( - deadlift, on 07/25/2008, -3/+31Philosophical humour! Dugg!
- Tophillious, on 07/26/2008, -0/+28Eeeeeeeexxxxxxxxcellent....
- bstarks, on 07/26/2008, -0/+28IMAX
- lemur, on 07/26/2008, -0/+27In this context, "thing" is a term of endearment. People refer to each other that way affectionately: "Aww you poor thing."
- Darusame, on 07/25/2008, -1/+27It's probably due to the rate at which children are born, the poor health care, and the sheer amount of people in India.
We're also more prone to catch news about birth deformities now due to the pervasiveness of the internet. - Darusame, on 07/25/2008, -1/+26We have better healthcare to detect deformities such as these before the babies are born. Also, India composes of 1.1 billion people, while we only consist of 300 million people. Oh, and Indians have more kids.
- poogy21, on 07/25/2008, -3/+27because we favor abortions
- ohnoerino, on 07/25/2008, -0/+24Why don't we ever hear of two faced babies in the U.S.?
- netneutrality, on 07/26/2008, -2/+25Wonder if she'll develop a preferred mouth, the same way everybody has a preferred hand. Will she prefer her right or left mouth for eating and talking?
- MaxMWood, on 07/25/2008, -4/+26Whats that bellybutton doing in the middle of her face?
- Zarokima, on 07/26/2008, -3/+25She can see time?
- Zarokima, on 07/26/2008, -0/+20We actually use all of our brains. The 10% statistic is only for conscious thought. The rest is used for things like telling your white blood cells to go fight that bacteria, making sure your heart keeps beating regularly, processing sensual information, etc. There is no "untapped" part of our brain that can lead to super-human perception/powers/whatever.
In a normal brain, it would be quite a chore and probably not work properly. Since she's got this strange mutation, her brain may be similarly formed to take in all the sensual information. There's really no way to know without CT scans and stuff, which hasn't been done. - batgrrrl, on 07/26/2008, -0/+19Because it's standard in Western countries to do testing for abnormalities in the first and second trimesters... I'm sure there are unborn babies with similar features who are aborted like poogy21 said.
- cheesycow5, on 07/26/2008, -2/+21if i understand the joke correctly, that's pretty funny
- dzw120, on 07/26/2008, -3/+22Even though the article states this as one baby with two faces, my first thought was that this was two babies in one body. It's mind boggling trying to imagine one brain trying to see through four eyes, control two mouths, etc.
Hope she does well. Doctor says she's normal, but I have doubts about the quality of the healthcare system in a "suburb of Delhi". - jqgarcia, on 07/26/2008, -0/+18population one billion - odds? the long tail of improbable mutations, as it were ...
- krnldmp, on 07/26/2008, -4/+22Haven't we advanced to the point where we don't call ***** that's basically defective "special".
- ohnoerino, on 07/25/2008, -2/+20oh snap!
- inactive, on 07/26/2008, -0/+16Those barrels of nuclear waste in the trees might be dangerous
- specialK16, on 07/26/2008, -2/+19Does she have 2 different brains?
- mearse, on 07/26/2008, -0/+16It's not that bad. She's got a whole village dancing and singing.
- xerograde, on 07/25/2008, -0/+16I don't understand how her one brain can process two different views, two different smells, etc. Craziness.
