- theremixtrack, on 07/09/2009, -2/+93LEGALIZE IT
oh wait.... - realeskimopimp, on 07/09/2009, -3/+71Save your liver. Marijuana is the safest high out there.
Legalize it. Give 18+ year old adults the choice to choose a safe drug.
Burying your head in the sand and pretending the problem doesn't exist does not work. People will do drugs and there's nothing you can do but EDUCATE THEM about the risks. - quacker912, on 07/09/2009, -1/+66Weed.
- BoneStamp, on 07/09/2009, -3/+67BAN PRESCRIPTION DRUGS!!!!
- Smokeydabear, on 07/09/2009, -3/+51When I was a kid I just got ripped on pot and left the painkillers to granny.
- mrjit, on 07/09/2009, -0/+43Well no *****.
- TheSexyBeast821, on 07/09/2009, -5/+47It's especially lame when those teens drive the prices of those prescription pills to ridiculously expensive levels. If you're gonna do oxycontin you might as well save yourself $40 and buy a bag of smack.
- b3astie, on 07/09/2009, -0/+34Wait a minute, kids know how to do drugs!? WILL SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN?!
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+30Hi my name is Rush Limbaugh and i approve this message.
- MattB123, on 07/09/2009, -2/+28They should just smoke pot like we did when I was a teen. And drink wine coolers (then puke in a rainbow of colors).
- TobiasParker, on 07/09/2009, -1/+27The cool kids do uppers.
- Hetman, on 07/09/2009, -0/+23Herion = pain killers. They do not call oxycotin hillbilly herion for nothing.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+21in middle school, we used to eat coricidin and dramamine to get high. we didn't even need a damn prescription
- lepetitmousse, on 07/09/2009, -1/+21After i got my wisdom teeth pulled out i saved all my oxycodone instead of using it and made a quick buck.
- Takfam, on 07/09/2009, -2/+21Does this count the kids that the drug companies put on regimens of Ritalin and Adderall?
- tempysmurf, on 07/09/2009, -1/+20My "friend" does this for a living. He'll research different psychological conditions and call different doctors all day long until he finds one who bites. He'll then go in and fake the condition and eventually get a prescription. He switches it up every other week, he'll have a new condition. Probably about the time he gets bored with the new drug he got. All the while, the government is paying for all of his medical and prescriptions.
- yocouchdigga, on 07/09/2009, -1/+18are you a bad enough dude to do both?
- kolop1, on 07/09/2009, -1/+18This is what happens when both parents have to work 10 or more hours a day and they are not home to supervise their children. We live in a society that views success by how far up the corporate latter you can get. Even if that means sacrificing raising your children.
- Sideshowslob, on 07/09/2009, -2/+18robotrippin ftw
sike nah that *****'s retarded - MaxReboCLZ, on 07/09/2009, -1/+17They need to grow up and use cocaine like adults.
- vammirato, on 07/09/2009, -0/+15I've taken that date rape drug 3-4 times and never got raped either.
- cam0man, on 07/09/2009, -0/+14a high school kid around here did that too, except he just offered to give them to a kid for free. as a gesture, the 'buyer' gave him a couple bucks and ended up getting caught with the painkillers. they offered him a deal to narc out whoever sold them to him, so he did. the seller got 10 years in prison and his family lost their house to legal fees.
pretty messed up stuff... - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -1/+15And what good has locking up people done for the war on drugs?
Children under the age of 21 can get access to marijuana easier than they could alcohol. - JFitzpatrick, on 07/09/2009, -3/+17You're a classy one.
- geoboy, on 07/09/2009, -0/+13Yeah, that'll learn 'em. Nothing like a little "tough love" rather than giving them the help they need.
- mattwalton56, on 07/09/2009, -2/+15'Sounds like someone is trying to rationalize their own drug problem...
- Devrdander, on 07/09/2009, -5/+18Mind explaining how they are driving the prices up? Or are you talking prices beyond the pharmacy counter?
- danthepiercer, on 07/09/2009, -1/+14@devrdander:
i think its safe to assume that no one pays $40 for an OC at the pharmacy.
however, when these pills are routinely sold for up to $1/mg, and rich kids actually pay that, it encourages the people selling them to keep the price high.
this model will break down if the supply were to increase, but considering OCs arent as easy to obtain from a doctor as say, Lortab, the demand is there while the supply is somewhat scarce.
around here OC's are about $1/mg for the small ones, and around $60/80mg.
my advice, sspend your $60 on some nugs and end up much happier!
@tza999:
you should take your own advice and STFU, because you are indeed right on that point! - goobly, on 07/09/2009, -1/+14That is correct.
- kevlar21, on 07/09/2009, -2/+14They can get the same drugs in prison.
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+12There are no long term risks with marijuana, and the short term symptoms that it MAY cause but has no been proven to cause are a much better alternative than any other drug out there.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 07/09/2009, -0/+12Heroin = Morphine = Opiates = Painkillers
Oxycontin (oxycodone) is a synthetic opium derivative. It's all essentially the same stuff with slightly tailored chemistry to achieve various flavors or the same effects. - Swivelstick, on 07/09/2009, -1/+13Only if you are already borderline schizophrenic and that will almost always come out latter in life as it just speeds up that process. That however is not the weeds fault as many other legal drugs can also do this..
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 07/09/2009, -0/+12Hm, I think you might want to read that comment over one more time.
- liquify1, on 07/09/2009, -0/+12different chemical, same feeling. the high you get from oxycontin is like getting really good heroin. i've done both many times and there's really no difference in the high you get.
that's why a lot of people start out on oxycontin and move to heroin. same high, cheaper price, and it's a hell of a lot easier to get - LordByr0n, on 07/09/2009, -3/+14BREAKING 20% OF TEENS ABUSE PRESCRIPTION DRUGS..
Now how many kids are prescribed these drugs? Lets blame the drugs some more and not poor parenting. - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -3/+13WanderOn, you're not up to date on your opiate knowledge.
First, oxycodone is a distinct chemical from heroin. The effects are very similar but it is NOT the same drug. Oxy is orally active at reasonable dosages. Heroin is not.
Second, heroin is a synthethic chemical. Calling something "synthethic heroin" is an exercise in redundancy. - kevbryant, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10All this without fruity flavors or cartoon characters in the marketing?
- MacEnvy, on 07/09/2009, -1/+11Which means it was probably yesterday, you just can't remember ...
- Sideshowslob, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10+1 for the simplicity of your statement sir.
- SpeedSteamBoat, on 07/09/2009, -2/+12That doesn't make sense.
Abuse leads to addiction, not the other way around.
If you're using a drug responsibly (i.e. not abusing it) then you shouldn't be getting addicted.
Using a drug like oxycontin just to get high is abusing and putting yourself at risk of addiction. - inactive, on 07/09/2009, -0/+10We had lots of weed, but some days the LSD and Shrooms were scarce
- weephar, on 07/09/2009, -1/+11you don't have to smoke marijuana...
- theremixtrack, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9Some how, that is correct!!
- inactive, on 07/09/2009, -2/+11CALIFORNIA LOVE!
I'm lost. are we just naming songs now? I dunno, I'm all messed up on cough syrup. - danthepiercer, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9heroin use doesnt kill people, overdoses do. and in my experience, its an unknown dose that usually causes overdose. look at Wm Burrows, he shot dope for 50 years and ended up dying of a heart attack.
yes, these drugs you mention are dangerous if you ingest too much or if you use them repeatedly (which is certainly the case with the majority of people who use them), the same goes for most painkillers. however, the potency of these pills is carefully monitored, whereas the potency of coke, crack, heroin, and meth will vary widely.
face it, people want to alter their mood/consciousness. once we as society quit trying to legislate morality, perhaps we can address this as a health issue and approach it from a scientific angle. - Hetman, on 07/09/2009, -2/+11Yea I cannot believe I ever did that. That is so harmful on your body.
- Jade10145, on 07/09/2009, -0/+9Old Curmudgeon says,"These kids now a days and their prescription drugs. Back in my day all we had were dime bags of the weed, and we were happy to get that! On a special occasion old Gerty would get us some smack from the negro boy down the street!"
- johnny23, on 07/09/2009, -1/+10Sounds like "mission accomplished" for the drug companies. The have successfully replaced traditional drugs with their own cocktails and created a generation of legal addicts. The market has spoken!
