- ABadPerson, on 04/05/2009, -1/+103sadly, the kid is more prepared and a better drive than some adults...
- tattokris, on 04/05/2009, -2/+95I'm surprised it took him a whole 13 years to figure out an escape from Virginia.
- dbossnirvana, on 04/04/2009, -2/+73Thank goodness the dog is safe.
- semperfidoordi, on 04/04/2009, -1/+70It's shocking because he's only 13 and managed to drive 1,300 miles without getting caught.
- Broschati, on 04/05/2009, -4/+57But to Texas...?
- AriaStar, on 04/05/2009, -0/+52Which means he was driving safely with a horse trailer hitched to the truck. Pretty impressive for a young person, especially one so young.
- newstart, on 04/05/2009, -0/+44This Summer, a story about a 13 year old boy who plans an escape from his home to a far away magical land. He learns to drive a pick up truck from his Uncle. ....Uncle: "keep your eyes on the road jimmy, but dont worry u wont be driving this on the road till you turn 16".... But little did his Uncle know that the little boy's adventure were to being soon.
Paramount pictures present an epic tale of a little boy and his dog driving 1300 miles to discover true America based on a true story. ...Little Boy: "Finally we are free tommy". Tommy: "woof woof". From the makers of Forrest Gump and Seabiscuit comes a heart warming story of learning how to drive at young age so that you can discover true American freedom. - TheWalkingDude, on 04/05/2009, -1/+40When I was 13, I took a wagon from Independence Missouri all the way to Willamette Valley. It was fairly common back then. We called it The Oregon Trail.
- waterboy1628, on 04/05/2009, -2/+39$50 says he was listening to alan jackson and kenny chesney the whole way there.
- sexybobo, on 04/05/2009, -0/+32A lot of kids that grow up on a farm (which it sounds like this kid did). Drive pickups, tractors and other farm vehicles all the time around the farm. So he might have had a lot of practice driving. or he might have just played a lot of gta and learned to drive from that.
Some states use to give licenses to 13 year old kids to drive registered farm vehicles to and from the field (they don't any more) - scarlettletter, on 04/04/2009, -3/+31Kids grow up so fast these days!
- KibblesnBitts, on 04/05/2009, -0/+24Damn, I caught dysentery :(
- Tubal22, on 04/05/2009, -0/+23When you gotta go to the rodeo, you gotta go to the rodeo.
- PaulHouse, on 04/05/2009, -9/+32You're Grounded, no more driving till you're 16!
- duggdowncatisad, on 04/05/2009, -0/+22These days, an ADULT driving safely in a normal car without a trailer is pretty impressive.
- smoothmann, on 04/05/2009, -2/+22how is babby formed?
- goinveg, on 04/05/2009, -0/+19Those parents deserve credit for raising a resourceful, responsible and knowledgeable young man!
- benbrooks101, on 04/05/2009, -1/+20this is terible,,,kid should,not be let alloud too internets,,, serious wait untill you,re 16 or older,,,, respect parnt and don,t w =/
- bubbameister33, on 04/05/2009, -0/+17That sounds like a classic 80's movie premise.
- Chooxo, on 04/05/2009, -5/+22"the kid is more prepared and a better drive than some adults..."
Creepy, dude. - yeahaboutthat, on 04/05/2009, -0/+16Why do I get the feeling this kid is going to show-up on Letterman in about two weeks......
- sovietninja, on 04/05/2009, -0/+15How do you unlock a horse trailer in GTA? That would be so cool.
- swanny89, on 04/05/2009, -0/+14I thought they still did. I'm pretty sure that my cousins who live on a farm have a license that actually let them drive to school and back and they're only 14.
- inactive, on 04/05/2009, -0/+14Why is that so shocking? Maybe he's just a decent driver?
- nuorigin, on 04/05/2009, -1/+14I wish my 13 year old had that much initiative. He looks at me crazy when I tell him to pump the gas.
- berserkiest, on 04/05/2009, -0/+12Am I too much of a country boy to be impressed by this? Most people that live on farms (which I assume he did since he had horses) are driving trucks around by the time they can reach the pedals and the steering wheel at the same time. I'm more curious about why he did it. I'm guessing he was planning on entering in the rodeo, because you don't really run away with two horses without a reason.
Unless he was going to get gas money from the glue factory - XenoSNK, on 04/05/2009, -2/+14I'm surprised that one of the first places the parents would look is 1300 miles away. Like, seriously?
- pungen, on 04/05/2009, -0/+12i wonder what was so bad that it made him feel he needed to save the horses and dog too. this sounds like quite an epic journey. what a badass. he should turn it into a western movie.
- XenoSNK, on 04/05/2009, -0/+11Medal.
- AriaStar, on 04/05/2009, -2/+13I don't condone this type of behavior, but can't help but be impressed at his preparation and driving skill. Many young people wouldn't do so well with a horse trailer hitched to a truck, much less one who is just 13.
- URnotheonly1, on 04/05/2009, -0/+11Must be one of those old American types that just do anything they can think of.
Not like the ones you see today - techdever, on 04/05/2009, -1/+12that's 100 miles for each year!
- dlan4327, on 04/05/2009, -2/+13Road Trip's are Awesome.
- inactive, on 04/05/2009, -2/+12This kid deserves a cookie. Or eight.

- jjones20, on 04/05/2009, -0/+9A country boy can survive, some of us have been driving younger than 13, i used to drive with my dad in an open field.
- RubberBinder, on 04/05/2009, -0/+8Road Trip's what are awesome?
- Gnar04, on 04/05/2009, -3/+11maybe youre just a horrible parent.
- Gnar04, on 04/05/2009, -2/+10because hes 13, and then on the other side we have women....
- Khast, on 04/05/2009, -0/+8I think it has something to do with the unusual circumstances. Most 13 year olds who drive their parent's vehicles usually end up causing ***** of damage within the first mile or so.....this particular case 1,300 miles, loaded trailer, and made preparations.
You know, if I didn't know any better, this kid probably deserves a license more than 1/2 the people who are legally able to acquire one. - rubixcubez, on 04/06/2009, -0/+7Did anyone else read that in that stupid ***** trailer voice?
- WiseGuy1020, on 04/05/2009, -3/+10stop trying be his friend and be his parent
- agentsrecord, on 04/05/2009, -0/+6Running away from home? It sounds like he was going to round up a posse.
- WiseGuy1020, on 04/05/2009, -0/+6He did not take his sister to be his wife.
- inactive, on 04/05/2009, -0/+6I used to make fun of and wonder why the kids in "The Wizard" could journey halfway across the country without an adult questioning or picking them up, but I guess it makes sense now!
- inactive, on 04/05/2009, -0/+5Fail. Thirteen is too old for Pedobear, and Pedobear is not a homosexual. You're looking for Hebocat.
- inactive, on 04/05/2009, -1/+6If I had a chance like that, I'd go and see something cool, not blow it all on some ***** rodeo.
- poprocksandsoda, on 04/05/2009, -2/+7How long before there is a country music artist who immortalizes this?
- meganboggs, on 04/05/2009, -0/+5that kid is freaking awesome
