- jakash, on 02/11/2009, -3/+113The Thief torrents just got hundreds of new leechers...
- jakash, on 02/11/2009, -2/+89I agree, when in hiding in a stealth game, there is nothing more horrifying than seein a guard walk right up to you and hoping that he doesn't notice. I've almost pissed my pants when this happens. Your heart stops, you hold your breath, and it is one of the most immersive things about stealth games.
- Trifold, on 02/11/2009, -1/+81And yet, this one wins the weekly Yahtzee lottery...Digg is a cruel mistress. Better luck next week!
- t2t2, on 02/11/2009, -1/+72NO, NOT THE EYES AGAIN!

- Kazumato, on 02/11/2009, -1/+41I want an animated gif of that.
- richmomz, on 02/11/2009, -1/+39One of the greatest games of all time - every FPS stealth/sneak game since has massively sucked in comparison.
- inactive, on 02/11/2009, -10/+43Oh ***** it's Wednesday! Yahtzee, then Lost tonight. woop.
- TwiiLight, on 02/11/2009, -1/+28LOL @ Yahtzee turning into a murderer over "Press X not to die" events
- skidork, on 02/11/2009, -1/+20It puts the lotion on its skin or it gets the eyes again!

- JollyDumple, on 02/11/2009, -13/+27Seriously? Are people still upset because Halo is popular? It's a fun game, get over it.
- JPalumbo, on 02/11/2009, -6/+20Time to go back and find a way to play Thief 2 now....hmmmm
- AngelBunny, on 02/11/2009, -0/+14I've only played a hand full of video games in my life time so my recommendation may not mean much but the Thief series is some of the best 3D video games ever made imho. If you've never played them then you don't know what you're missing.
- Kravin, on 02/11/2009, -0/+13You know, old games can be fun too. Just fyi.
- richmomz, on 02/11/2009, -0/+13I highly recommend playing Thief at night, with the lights off and a good pair of earphones - you will then know the definition of "immersiveness".
- bagboyrebel, on 02/12/2009, -0/+12You mean the one at the end that you didn't even have to watch anyway?
- MrJ777, on 02/11/2009, -3/+15I am amazed the bury brigade hasn't started burying everyone yet. That aside. Props for ***** on the waste of money that was Thief 3.
- Neiby, on 02/11/2009, -0/+12The Dark Project *was* the first Thief game.
- Coded1, on 02/11/2009, -1/+12Your mom didn't hug you as a kid did she?
- cha0t1c, on 02/12/2009, -0/+11For those of you who enjoy the Thief genre, you should try out The Dark Mod based a highly modified Quake 3 engine. It is true to its roots and is now nearing completion. Playable demos available at http://www.thedarkmod.com/
Enjoy!!! - ELCad, on 02/11/2009, -0/+10Dune as a RTS game predated Starcraft by 6 years.
- slangmann, on 02/11/2009, -2/+12waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
- sjm20k, on 02/12/2009, -4/+13is it really worth arguing something that's so subjective?
- SurrealDream, on 02/11/2009, -1/+10Supposed to be.
- abrasion, on 02/11/2009, -15/+23Dugg for calling Halo how it actually is.
- CyberSkull, on 02/11/2009, -0/+8This review impressed both myself and my dry cleaner.
- Stonekeeper, on 02/11/2009, -0/+8Thief is the most immersive game i've played and probably in my top 2 fave games ever. For people who have not played this game and it's sequel, get it (Both are available for 5 quid now), ignore the retro graphics and just play the damn thing. You wont regret it!
- BBBeckNY, on 02/11/2009, -0/+8Just wanted to throw out there that the Through the Looking glass' website is still up at http://www.ttlg.com/
It is a hub for fan missions amongst other things. It's been ten years or so now and there are thousands of fan missions and more being made every month. If you enjoyed the game then you will love many of these fan missions as well. - kd420, on 02/11/2009, -4/+12I definitely agree with him about how stealth games can be just as fun as the "run in and shoot everyone" games. When I play as spy in TF2 my heart beat picks up and I'm more twitchy out of fear of being caught. Granted, this is just because I don't play that often, but there is not just a fear of dying (I die in every class a lot) but also a fear of being caught, and it's quite motivating. That being said, if the stealth isn't implemented properly (i.e. the actions/reactions of the guards isn't up to par) then the game can be downright boring.
- richmomz, on 02/11/2009, -1/+8Damn you Yahtzee for reviving my deeply-buried memories of gaming awesomeness!! What's next, an XCOM review so that I will throw my entire XBOX 360 library out the window in a fit of disgust?! You have now rendered me completely incapable of enjoying any recently released game and forced me to dig through my archive to reinstall this masterpiece and make it (somehow) work on Vista.
- AgentD, on 02/11/2009, -0/+7You just summed up my day!
- AngelBunny, on 02/11/2009, -0/+7third imho was just as good as the first two except the story line isn't as good (almost, if not very close to as good) and it is far easier to play through than the first two. honestly, i think thief 3 deserves to be considered part of the thief series. it may not be the best, but it is damn good. you should check it out.
- AngeloM3, on 02/11/2009, -2/+9QQ
- stonebone4, on 02/11/2009, -0/+7LOL WUT, NO WAY, THE GRAPHICS N ***** SUXX, NEEDS MOAR POLYS!!1

For the record, the greatest game I've ever played (Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos) came out in 1993. I've never been that hooked on anything and to this day when I play it it's just as addictive and engrossing as it was when I was twelve. - rpapi100, on 02/11/2009, -0/+6Thief II and Deus Ex are in my book the two best, I did find however Bioshock quite enjoyable but nowhere near the two legends previously mentioned. Too bad sequels of both sucked hard donkey balls.
- speedbmp, on 02/11/2009, -4/+10or people should look before submitting. as i did and i was still the first one to post it.
- sexybobo, on 02/12/2009, -0/+5I am one but only because they don't sell thief 1 and 2 on steam only 3
- wzrds3, on 02/12/2009, -0/+5Dugg for Mecha-Gandalf
- BishopAzrael, on 02/11/2009, -1/+6I'm glad to see he did Thief. It's been one of my top games ever. Now I'll have to go back and reinstall this on my MBP.
- Doompuppet, on 02/11/2009, -0/+5Enigma of Amigara fault?
- Danjak, on 02/11/2009, -0/+5I loved the third Thief as much as I loved the other two. Seriously - no reason not to get it if you're a fan of I and II.
- theodicey, on 02/11/2009, -0/+5Thief III is worth it if only for the freaky orphanage level.
Although the ending was too easy and a letdown. - Ubersmush, on 02/11/2009, -1/+5actually it's disappointing but they didn't
- minoss, on 02/11/2009, -1/+5Monday - Heroes, House
Tuesday - Fringe (meh)
Wednesday - Lost
Thursday - The Office
Friday - Battlestar Galactica - ChromaVita, on 02/12/2009, -1/+5I vote that it's fun but also seriously over-rated.
- richmomz, on 02/11/2009, -0/+4Agreed- I would include Thief II (best of the series IMHO) in the Thief pantheon of awesomeness, with an honorable mention to Deus Ex as well. Nothing has even come close since.
