- CynicalTyler, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5I would agree that the game mechanics are a bit fubarred and there's little challenge, but the general humor involved and the my enjoyment of the theme make it worth it for me. It's more like a somewhat linear Choose Your Own Adventure graphic novel. Obviously that's not going to appeal to everyone.

The concept they talked about before overlord 1 came out sounded like the coolest thing I'd ever heard but the game they made out of that concept of an evil lord controlling hordes of minions to do his bidding turned out to be just like Pikmin as he said.

The combat with the overlord is like a dumbed down Diablo, and the combat with the little monsters is like a dumbed down RTS. The puzzles are nothing to write home about either.
The camera and controls are also absolutely terrible. - Paulish, on 07/15/2009, -1/+5The mistresses actually DO do something, but in the endgame. The mounts you get (Either for your red, browns, or greens) depends on which mistress you make your first mistress. Yahtzee probably just didn't get that far, and I don't really blame him. Both Overlord 1 and 2 were really annoying games to play.

- Abram730, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2After the spider boss would be the part when you would curse the mouse controls the most and the game repeatedly... so as you are playing with a game controller.. imagine that part with a mouse.. holding both buttons while piking the mouse because you ran out of mouse pad...

- bjornski, on 07/16/2009, -0/+2110% agree with all posters above. This game was MADE for the Xbox 360 controller. I'm strictly a PC gamer, but the controller was one of the better investments I've made.
Loved my Rumblepad, but it just doesn't compare anymore. It removes the crappy holding down both buttons and moving your mouse around to move the minions.
