Low system requirements and iconic (instead of highly detailed) graphics are part of the accessibility that opened WoW up to over 10 million subscribers. Definitely part of what draws me to it. I can play it on my office workstation or on my 4 year old laptop over wifi and it's enjoyable either way.
I hope it's not a total overhaul of the game graphics. It's hard to imagine that raising the minimum requirements will do anything but cost them subscribers. This has never been a game for high-end gamers, only. (Yet another benefit since it pleasantly diversifies the player-base.)
