Generally if the headline/content of an article doesn't interest me I don't click on it. This is a fairly easy concept to implement in your digging experience, and I recommend it for everyone.

I'm willing to bet a large percentage of WoW players are middle class people with good jobs and home lives that just want to unwind after a hard day's work. I know several guys at work that play, and over half have significant others. We're all tech geeks, of course, but so what? Most digg readers are tech geeks, too.
Who are you, Jack Thompson? You think WoW players are losers with no life for the same reason that people think games like GTA and Halo lead to violent tendencies, and the reason people thought D&D players were all Satan-worshippers. You don't know much about anything, especially the people you're so quick to put down, so when you hear a bad news story you assume it's true for all. There are some WoW losers, sure, like the guys who have gone into cardiac arrest after playing for 40 hours straight. There are some people who have locked themselves away, losing their jobs, their girlfriends, etc. But that's hardly representative of the people who play WoW.

- SPThom, on 07/19/2008, -1/+3Battlegrounds might seem useless on a PvP realm (although I dunno, they offer some sweet gear for rewards) but they're a good way to experience PvP for those who chose a "normal" (PvE) realm. And the safe zones near the starting points are a good defense for newbies... Can you blame Blizzard for trying to keep newbs from gankage so that they might actually *play* the game longer than a month?

"This game is extremely time consuming. Even if you work out a schedule where you play for 2 hours then take a break then play again, you still will get sucked in for more hours. Usually by the end of 1st hour of play i get an invite to group for instance that i need and i already know that thats 1-2 hours more lost on getting a full group and 2-3 hours lost on actual instance, and... that is 1 1 2 4 hour spent on WoW AT LEAST!!! there goes my routine, there goes the rest of my schedule. I stopped looking for work while playing wow. I stopped doing healthy activites and i'd prefer playing wow over drinking with my friends...why?? to get an extra level b4 70 or an extra item at 70? This game kills your will to do anything else, really. I have tried drugs and even they dont make me so obbsessed, in fact i have to push myself to get money to get the drugs (not that i do them that often). Guild Wars is similar but is much more fun and balanced. they have a timer that constatly tells you to stop. they have a max level that is easy to achieve. to get the items/spells you want you spend a day, maybe 2 if ur unlucky...TOPS!
