- Tyrghast, on 08/21/2008, -2/+30We already know the origin of Spore: It descended from heaven on the backs of doves, while a thousand trumpets announced it's coming. It is the embodiment of perfection.
- Narcism, on 08/21/2008, -0/+27Thanks for sharing, champ.
- andypop481, on 08/21/2008, -6/+32Yeah this game is definitely gonna be awesome. This girl who i want to be my girlfriend (long complicated story you probably don't want to hear) lives in Knoxville, and she said this game has massive potential.
- DearSergio, on 08/21/2008, -4/+29Will Wright is my man-crush.

- built2spill, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1616 days, baby!
- jjb123, on 08/21/2008, -1/+15Spore looks so much better than GTA and MGS, for one, its something new not just that same thing repackaged over and over.
- Jektal, on 08/21/2008, -0/+12Yeah, but this isn't The Sims: 2142, or SimCity 2008, it's Spore. Will Wright seems have plenty of pull to overcome the ***** that is EA.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -2/+14No, it's Maxis, you *****. Yes, EA handles their publishing, but come on, you don't ***** with Maxis, and you especially don't ***** with Will Wright.
- Frazzlet, on 08/21/2008, -1/+12You can rent PC games?
- welliamwallace, on 08/21/2008, -2/+11hahaha I get the reference
- Spiffness, on 08/21/2008, -0/+9This is the 2nd time I've seen this same comment with the subject changed today. Fun stuff.

- Narcism, on 08/21/2008, -0/+8Errm...
- Dwebtron, on 08/21/2008, -0/+7considering the game wasn't released 3 years ago like EA wanted I think it tells you that Will Wright gets what he ***** wants. IE: his paycheck comes from EA but that doesn't mean his game design does.
- goldenhearted, on 08/21/2008, -0/+7Wow, I just realized Spore is coming out closer than I expected it to be.
Ah, the simple joys in life (that is, to find out something you've been waiting for is right around the corner) - inactive, on 08/21/2008, -1/+8/sarcasm?
I didn't get the hype around GTA and Metal Gear Solid - I mean, they were just rehashes of old crap. It's not like either game was particularly innovative or revolutionary - it was the same crap people had been doing since the originals came out, just with prettier graphics. Which, is nice, I guess, but not hype-worthy, in my opinion. - inactive, on 08/21/2008, -1/+8I think I missed this meme.
- greenrider04, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6i wanted spore until i found out that the stupid DRM limitation of 3 installs only. normally i can tolerate most DRM but this one is certainly going to be a pain in the ass.
- Pixelpaws, on 08/21/2008, -1/+7The Aristocrats!
- maxtrix, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6Wondering about how this will be cracked are ya?
- tyroney, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6Did you try the demo creator, which hardly has any parts? And I believe it was the tab key (strangely enough) that turned on far more editing options for parts. (made things possible that weren't otherwise)
Also, creating a creature is practically the into to the game, afaik - wonderbriefs, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6It won't be long.
- Doubledown, on 08/21/2008, -0/+6*****... 16 days to my 30th bday... guess what I am getting

- JPOGDNA, on 08/21/2008, -0/+5Ocean Quigley is a badass name.
- JPOGDNA, on 08/21/2008, -1/+6Ea gave Maxis unprecedented freedom inside of EA, so I think its kay.
- Erythroxylum, on 08/21/2008, -1/+6Yeah, the Third World. But only just.

- Rudegar, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4seem to be the next step after games like black&white and creatures before that
but with all the hype it's gotten it will be very diff to deliver - andypop481, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4I disagree. This is a game produced by the man who brought us SimCity, a game that revolutionized the idea of a simulation. He's got a massive successful resume as a game designer, and now he'smade a game that allows you to control evolution of something that you create at every level, and interact with other peoples creations in a way that hasn't been done before. Whether it deserves praise or not will be decided when it comes out, but at the moment, it definitely deserves the hype.
- CasinoJack, on 08/21/2008, -0/+4The reason people are excited about this game is because it's the first totally original game in what feels like years. Notice also that each one of the games you mentioned is either a sequel or an add on pack.
- pault107, on 08/21/2008, -2/+5Inspirational quote:
"When I design a game, at the very beginning, I design a box, and with Spore many, many years ago, the title on the box was SimEverything. I can show the team my box and say, Look, we want to build this, imagine what will be in this box".
Literally thinking outside the box. That's the kind of thinking that inspires me. - JPOGDNA, on 08/21/2008, -1/+4Ocean Quigley is a badass name.
- inactive, on 08/21/2008, -1/+4Considering Will Wright is one of the gods of the industry, I should damn well hope that he does.
- welliamwallace, on 08/21/2008, -1/+4Oh man, I have been waiting for this game for 3 years...
- getbusyliving, on 08/21/2008, -2/+5A blow job?
- CoreyHalliwell, on 08/21/2008, -1/+4I love evolution and i like the idea of spore but, In all honesty i need guidance. I played the creature creator and i found the creature creation process kind of limiting considering how long spore taken to make. I found that not only were there not enough body parts but they weren't as malleable as i expected. Was this only a "general idea" or was it the final creature creator? If the creature creator will stay as is i doub't i'll find any replay value in the game. Anyone got anything constructive to say that may change my opinion i'm not here to flame.
- kidcodea, on 08/21/2008, -3/+6Fag is a British colloquialism for cigarette
- finn, on 08/21/2008, -0/+3it's a single-player game, it only retrieves content from the net--you're not really 'playing online'... as far as that content-from-the-net aspect goes, yes its free (it's basically the sporepedia thing in the Creature Creator that's been out)
- bitterbug, on 08/21/2008, -1/+4Don't worry, once she gets the surgery only the adam's apple will be a giveaway.
- xirtap, on 08/21/2008, -2/+5September 5th for Europe. Europe > World.
- nrose101, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2I do miss frogger and donkey kong :)
- macsox, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2I know! Playing videogames is the EXCLUSIVE domain of reclusive nerds with no lives! That's why it will never be a more lucrative industry than, say, movies.
Oh, wait. - TINZUSA, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2I can't believe that they would hide this from everyone! All PC games are bought by people on the understanding that they will last forever. To punish somebody for re-installing or upgrading their hardware has NOTHING at all to do with piracy! It's outrageous!
- Zipko, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2Ever play the old Lords of the Realm games? Similar to what you're talking about although not nearly as complicated in either aspect as Civ or C&C. It combines turned based empire management with real time battles.
LotR2 is imo the best of the series, but I'm not sure if it runs on XP. I haven't tried playing it in years.
Google it if you're interested, you might be able to find it on Amazon. - dungbeetle, on 08/21/2008, -1/+3I'll wait until there's no horrid copy protection. Which probably means I'll be waiting for a long time.
- johnroth, on 08/21/2008, -0/+2I'm pretty sure there is way way WAY more than that. But I also think you're not really explore it all...
