- Doomsan, on 12/13/2007, -4/+64Why give Treyarch the chance? COD3 wasn't as great as the others, and COD4 is great, why screw it up? stick with Infinity Ward!!!
- cristz, on 12/13/2007, -7/+45I think COD4 will be enough for me for the next couple of years
- vondrak, on 12/13/2007, -1/+36This wouldn't be the first time COD was console only. COD2 Bigred one and COD3 weren't on the pc.
- anTii, on 12/13/2007, -3/+35If this is true it sucks, whenever I play an FPS on PC all I can think about is how much better it would be to control on PC. Mouse and Keyboard are better than a game pad anyday
- AwesomeMonster, on 12/13/2007, -5/+28cod3 was a major letdown in the series. Hopefully treyarch improves with this.
- HanSolo69, on 12/13/2007, -0/+21I get what you're saying...but I don't think you meant to say it that way.
- NaziHatinChimp, on 12/13/2007, -0/+21If CoD5 is going back to World War 2 like the rumors suggest, then it would make sense that Treyarch is developing it. They are getting hand offs.
- bmystry, on 12/13/2007, -3/+21COD 5 might not come to PC or get made by Infinity Ward but COD 6 Future Combat is going to be amazing.
- afairjudgement, on 12/13/2007, -2/+14What a bunch of crap! CoD4 on PC restored my faith in the FPS, it would be morally wrong, nay, morally bankrupt for them to make such a decision. Besides, CoD3 sucked!
- crackedplastic, on 12/13/2007, -1/+10You kidding me? CoD4 is quite different than the previous ones.
- veriix, on 12/13/2007, -0/+9I don't think that horse is dead yet, I think I saw it twitch.
- Loonacy, on 12/13/2007, -1/+10It's obvious you haven't played COD4.
- Adrnshw6, on 12/13/2007, -2/+8Good, I want nothing to do with those non-Infinity Ward "Call of Duty" games.
- lostradamus, on 12/13/2007, -0/+6If it's not IW I won't waste my time/money.
- pardonmedoug, on 12/13/2007, -0/+5I just like to look at the packaging.
- robflm256, on 12/13/2007, -0/+5Very true. I enjoyed it very much (and.... dont tell anyone....I miss shooting Nazis....)
- Gradoner, on 12/13/2007, -1/+6ah, so CoD 5 will be churned out at max speed and suck balls just like CoD 3, that's all I saw here
- AnimZero, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4Graphics < Gameplay.
- toxicityj, on 12/13/2007, -3/+7what was wrong with Call of Duty 3? I love it. Cod 1-2 and 4 were/are better, but CoD3 was far from a bad game by any means....
- seraph582, on 12/13/2007, -2/+6anyone that wants more than about 6 whole games to play =]
- dillibob, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4too bad they sucked....
- snea, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4Yea, I'm fine if it just manages to boot up.
- LordSkywalker, on 12/13/2007, -1/+5Why in the hell are they giving the next installment to Treyarch? They've already proved that they can't develop a game good enough in terms of quality. Give a more worthy developer a chance. At least some other developer would have the CHANCE to make a good game, where as with Treyarch, we're guaranteed mediocrity at best. Bad decision, Infinity Ward.
- GauchoCoder, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4Whew! What a relief! I was worried for a while that there wouldn't be anymore CoD games. Now we just have to cross our fingers for CoD6: Post-Modern Warfare!
- nynety, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4Meh ... I'm not bothered. CoD 3 wasn't really that impressive so I really don't care much about Treyarch's next. However, if Infinity Ward was going to go console-exclusive, then I'd be pretty much grief-stricken.
- schrutefan, on 12/13/2007, -0/+4I don't mind if the PC misses out on COD5, but at least make an expansion pack for COD4 - the single player campaign was amazing but painfully short.
- Wildog27, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3In which people will argue about the meaning of truth and how words themselves have no meaning outside of context.
- lennybird, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3You can change it, you know. The default controls are a little flimsy for the PC, and I'll admit, they were comfortable on the 360, but play for an hour with customized controls on PC, and you can't tell the difference.
- DagMX, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3So you would play the most godawefully boring game on the planet if it looked pretty?
- desqjockey, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3It makes perfect sense: there is such strong Mod support for COD, but it takes years to kick in. COD4 multiplayer on the PC will start getting good mods just as COD5 comes out. No mods for Xbox and PS3
- pardonmedoug, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3Excellent.
er, Fatality. - DagMX, on 12/13/2007, -1/+4because COD2 and COD4 were good..COD3 was average and a blemish om an otherwise great series.
- houndeyex, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3There's plenty of other conflicts to base games off of besides WWII and Iraq. Vietnam, Korea, WWI, Desert Storm... heck, even the civil or revolutionary wars. They might not all make great games, but it could at least be fun to explore. Anyone ever played the Battlegrounds mod for HL and HL2? Fun little multi-player experience when you're in the mood for something that isn't WWII or "Moden" warfare.
- rhodesy22, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3Completely false - I have a ps3 and a great pc - PC's are far better for multiplay FPS' games. Plus you can't rival the graphics of pc games - consoles will always be out of date when compared to the latest PC hardware.
- KittySpark1es, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2Actually Grey Matter created CoD:UO, and then GM merged with Treyarch but GM was/is rather small compared to Treyarch.
- robflm256, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2My theory: I think it's an "even number" thing: Big Red One and COD3 (Treyarch) weren't as good as COD 2 and COD 4 (Infinity Ward). Maybe COD 6 will be awesome......
- tendonut, on 12/13/2007, -2/+4Sure, if you only see PCs as gaming machines...
- inactive, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2If this isn't made by infinity ward then who cares if it doesn't come out on PC. It sucks that Treyarch made COD3 and it sold because it had the COD name to it.
I don't know why Infinity Ward would let another company ruin their COD franchise - rezist, on 12/14/2007, -0/+2wow, you haven't played either have you?
- Ndiggnation, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2The "next installment of Call of Duty 4"? Would that be like an expansion pack, or becoming it's own frachise? "Call of Duty 4-X2" :)
- snoopdogg, on 12/14/2007, -0/+2it's not infinity ward's fault, it's activision.
- samuraipizzacat, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2And we all know how that turned out last time.
- sleight42, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2CoD3 was pathetic. It was the only CoD game that I rented and then returned right away. I've bought the others. Just let Infinity Ward take their time. Let them build a superior product. Don't sully the CoD brand with Treyarch tripe.
- elementfire, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2Activision wants to pump out one COD every year, milking the franchise for all it's worth. The only way they can do this is to have good games coming out of Infinity Ward every two years, and mediocre ones coming out of Treyarch in the gaps.
- raynar, on 12/13/2007, -0/+2COD4 is one of those games you play, and then all of a sudden blink and look around and realize you blacked out for about 4 hours.
I hope infinite wards develops the next one, if it gets downgraded to COD3 quality, I wont be buying. COD3 was fun, but it doesnt hold a candle to COD4. - shagwAg3n, on 12/13/2007, -2/+4why so many haters of cod3 here? just bc it's not on par w/cod4 doesn't make it "suck balls". graduate from the 3rd grade already.
- jondayz, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Isn't the obvious solution to make console games capable of using a mouse and a keyboard? No one in their right mind would say that a controller has more function than a KB/mouse.
With consoles everyone is on the same level in competition (one person isn't at 20fps while the other at 60, like on the PC), which is what I love about it. I don't want to, and can't afford to upgrade my PC every year when I can buy a 360 that will be "cutting edge" for a few years.
P.S. I don't want to spend $1800 in video cards alone to get Crysis to run on Very high. - epj3, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1COD3 was great fun in multiplayer, but that was it.
- lacronicus, on 12/15/2007, -0/+1Desert storm doesn't have that epic aura about it, there's no "storming the beaches of normandy," just the americans owning face, and that's it. Until now, vietnam would have been hard because only cryengine2 could do it justice, and that just came out. WWI might be interesting, but getting gassed and mowed down by machine guns might get annoying after a while.
