I know Christmas is coming up - but ***** - for all these titles which have been in development for multiple years (Bioshock) to come out within a three month period (it's against the law of the universe). I have nightmares about the drought that will follow. Perhaps Nintendo will finally start stepping up to the plate (zelda phg was really delayed).

- trubbleshute, on 10/14/2007, -1/+11Wow, been playing it for a while and I am totally amazed, definitely a candidate for GOTY in FPS it's going to be a tough toss up between this one and Bioshock for GOTY in FPS. I thought hoverboards would be lame, but if there are no vehicles on your base left and you need to get somewhere in a hurry then they will work just fine. There are enough new features (jump boots, hoverboard, feign death) which are going to make team games interesting.

Epic knows how to release a game. I'm on XP64 and had major problems with the demo. Epic devs and forum administrators were attentive and posted quite frequently. A few forum members were offering their thoughts, suggestions and feedback and Epic listened. First one of the devs posted a fix for getting the demo installed (a local security policy rule) but the game then wouldn't run. A forum member posted a work-around and about an hour or two later the devs released a patched EXE which finally fixed all my issues.
Long story short, you can play the demo on XP64 now -- read the forum stickies for info. I got home at 5:30pm EST the day of release and was checking the forums and reinstalling things until almost midnight when they posted that last patch. They admitted their oversight and had it corrected in a matter of hours. That's how and why you release a public beta demo. - walkingdogs, on 10/13/2007, -0/+5Yeah I was shocked I was able to run in on number 4 detail settings at 1280x720 widescreen on my x800pro, 3500+ w/ 2gb of ram and it ran wonderfully on vista. I LOVE the scalability of Epic games. This bodes well for my ability to play Gears as well.

Epic has even stated on their forums that the texture resolutions and stuff have been chopped way back for this to keep the file size down. The interface also completely sucks. It's definitely got "beta" written all over it. -
