- bonk2k, on 12/04/2008, -0/+12That's what karoshi is for
- Dukentre, on 12/04/2008, -0/+11Audiosurf isn't free.
- Ljay90, on 12/04/2008, -0/+10I think this list just convinced me to get Sins.
- starslinger72, on 12/04/2008, -4/+14once again, PC only
I know who would want to play it not on a PC but still. - Railoc, on 12/04/2008, -1/+11When will the masturbation over WoW stop? I know, I know, never, but christ, it's getting a little old.
- homer4199, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9Sins of the solar empire is one badass game. I cant wait for the new expansion
- starslinger72, on 12/04/2008, -0/+9did you read the intro?
- MakanGuru, on 12/04/2008, -1/+9sins rawked man, one of the best "sleeper" hit games in recent history
- need4speed, on 12/04/2008, -0/+8wow isn't a game. it's a drug!

- Dromeciomimus, on 12/04/2008, -3/+11Stuck on your CD since you installed it three times.
- Matt2k, on 12/04/2008, -0/+7> and not worry about a yearly cost of £400 GPU
If you say so. But I recently got an 8800gts 512 for about $170 USD after rebate and it runs at much higher resolutions and quality than either of my consoles. Crysis and everything. And yes, most of the triple-A titles are multiplatform obviously, but I also do work, web *****, and play smaller independent games (World of Goo) on the PC. Plus I get all the other obvious benefits of a PC. So there you have it. I've now entered into a video gaming argument. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy my chocolate milk from the lunch lady. - AdmiralAcbar, on 12/04/2008, -0/+6My girlfriend plays Peggle Nights addictively.
- LaGStAr, on 12/04/2008, -1/+6You can't honestly group the new Call of Duty game in with those other titles...
- Scrappy1850, on 12/04/2008, -0/+5overly complicated? yes. simulation? no. its an RTS, and a great one at that.
- Gizza, on 12/05/2008, -0/+4"Lets see how well this 8800gts of yours plays GTA 4"
Nothing can play GTA 4 well on the PC. It's the buggiest ***** worst port in recent history. Even Valve are giving refunds to people who bought it over Steam because it's so bad.
And besides, even if it was a decent port, the 8800gts would be able to play it smoothly at way better graphics than the 360 could ever hope to achieve. - Scrappy1850, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4there all on my hard drive getting regular play.
- antistupid, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4article description:
"Making a list of the best PC games of the year is an impossible task. First, consider that most of the truly top-tier gaming experiences to be had on personal computers this year actually fell into the Multi-Platform awards category, so Fallout 3 and the like weren't eligible"
L2Read - antistupid, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4Check the top 5 multiplatform games. That is where most of the games people in the digg comments are bitching about not being on the list are.
- ClevelandBrown, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4I agree, this list was absolute horse-*****.
- artofwot, on 12/04/2008, -0/+4So, did Spore really suck enough that everyone has forgotten about it by now?
- Spyder228, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3I must say, that pretty much sums up my time with Sins. I know it's a great game, but I don't find myself wanting to play it much if at all.
- InfernoX, on 12/05/2008, -0/+3Crysis Warhead and the Witcher were PC exclusive.
- Megatog615, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3I took your advice and now all I have is a crispy browned disc.
:'( - Shakermaker, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3"The production values are low, the joke gets old fast, and some of the puzzles are kind of stupid..."
Wow. Great list ya got there, Lou. - ignisatra, on 12/04/2008, -1/+4"Making a list of the best PC games of the year is an impossible task."
Oh wait, they just did. - nyeus, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3You will NOT be disappointed!
- Jektal, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3Sins is an awesome game, but never one I really had -fun- with. I really like the game, I'm just not sure I like playing it.
It's odd... - shangdragon, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3Audiosurf is brilliant, well deserved.
- LMN8R, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3*****, it's a list that shows that Wired doesn't know what they're talking about. No Witcher: EE? No Crysis Warhead? No Warhammer Online or Conan, which, regardless of their status today, were pretty damned good launches? No Spore?
There were easilly as many good-to-amazing PC-exclusive games that came out in 2008 as any individual console had exclusives.
It's amazing how people group cross-platform console games together in an attempt to prove PC gaming is "dying", all-out ignoring the fact that consoles have barely any exclusive anymore either. - Stevethegreat, on 12/04/2008, -0/+3No Witcher EE? Hmmm and I thought we -in the PC- get the best RPGs, now I know why nobody knows about it, they don't get the hype of the likes of Mass Effect...
- rockon4life45, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3best comment evar
- metaliq, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Seriously?
It's not that you're getting buried by "too serious" gamers. It's that you're getting buried for not reading the ***** article. - ghostlywind, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2Audiosurf is so fun baked.
- brundlefly76, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2A lot of newer games are like that.
They suck you in, sometimes take a monthly fee, and hold you prisoner for days on end, but if you ever stop in the middle of the game you're like 'am I having any fun playing this?' - Phegan, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2I made that exact same point about audiosurf to someone in work yesterday, I think they have me bugged.
- brundlefly76, on 12/04/2008, -0/+2I played WoW for about 40 hours before and I was bored out of my mind.
Begrudingly, I tried Warhammer, and was hooked immediately.
I think the two biggest reasons are the usability of the interface and RvR scenarios, but I also like that the art and gameplay is a little less adolescent than WoW (WoW's art is outstanding, however, just not my cup of tea).
The only things I dont like about Warhammer is that some of the areas are big at the expense of being underdeveloped, population is still low, and it needs to encourage party formation more. Some stuff, like crafting, is very poorly introduced.
This is stuff that can be fixed, some of it they state they are working on, and they have been very good with patching the game on a regular basis, making it better and better, so I believe them. - inactive, on 12/05/2008, -0/+2That's why I said "pretty much."
- bagboyrebel, on 12/04/2008, -1/+3what kind of category is "Best Expansion of an MMO That Needed It Least"? It's like whoever made the list said, "Ok, I want WoW to be on the list but I need a category for it first".
