- kman2190, on 10/24/2009, -0/+30I cannot wait for this game to be released!
- TwwIX, on 10/25/2009, -0/+29Love the narration by Lance Henriksen. I wish that they'd show us a bit more of the gameplay though.
- darthsand, on 10/24/2009, -0/+27I learned all about this battle in high school history class.
Mon Mothma, you were the best prof ever! - maracle2, on 10/25/2009, -0/+18300: The Star Wars Version.....sweet
- hauntedchippy, on 10/25/2009, -1/+17Why don't they make movies based on this material? Would be a hell of a lot better than the steaming turds Lucas has been making us watch recently.
- Amazetbm, on 10/25/2009, -1/+17Well this is in the past and there is a detetable regression in the technology. But when civilization goes through several ascensions and declines, technology and knowledge is sure to be lost or suppressed...only to be regained or rediscovered later in time. It happened here with the burning of the Library of Alexandria and the Dark Ages. If those two events never happened, humanity might well be 500 years more advanced than we currently are.
- jaythewise, on 10/25/2009, -0/+11Ya I mean what else can the bad guys do in the future? Build a giant moon ship to blow the ***** out of planets? Or clone millions of soldiers?
- scott1, on 10/25/2009, -0/+10I had Jar Jar Binks as my History Prof and all learned from history is that the trade federation sucks at military tactics:

Even worse was that I had Yoda for English:
The Question, be or not - inactive, on 10/25/2009, -1/+9I need to install KotOR.. played it on Xbox when it first came out and loved it (I'm not a big SW fan) but I hear the PC version has some extras and all kinds of mods to mess with.
- Balath, on 10/25/2009, -0/+8Or transcend physical limitations to become immortal beings of pure energy?
- elYorte, on 10/25/2009, -4/+12http://91.121.132.199/gifs/15343.gif
- Thumper13, on 10/25/2009, -0/+8Once Hyperspace is achieved how much more is there to do. The weapons have changed, ship design changed, ships got faster, better, bigger, smaller...the changes are more subtle.
I kinda get what you mean, but it is a game. - lolerskate, on 10/25/2009, -1/+8What i like is how the Old Republic seems to be a mix of the Grand Republic Army of the Clone Wars and the Rebel Alliance and the Sith Empire seems to be a mix of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Empire.
- danconia, on 10/25/2009, -0/+6I wouldn't be surprised if it were that high. The Star Wars universe/galaxy has a ***** ton of planets with lots of background.
- Tyrghast, on 10/25/2009, -0/+6The discrepancy between the prequels and the original trilogy could be explained the fact that between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope a massive war tearing apart the galaxy took place. By the time A New Hope rolls around, nearly the entire galaxy is subjugated by a maniacal emperor and his majordomo Darth Vader.
The starfighters of the Rebellion are slapped together from scraps, the factories and heavy industry would have been the first to go when the Empire began it's brutal expansion.
I'm not a huge Star Wars buff, but it's not difficult to make the leap from sleek and refined to run down and barely running thanks to a war. - lamiaconfitor, on 10/25/2009, -3/+9Republicans are confused about everything, this world and the next.
- eawgoalie, on 10/25/2009, -0/+6http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith
You are thinking about a different part of the time line. - Corona85, on 10/25/2009, -1/+6I love Star Wars and all, but why the hell does it seem like technology never advances in the SW universe(s)? Everything seems like a different variation of the older movies.
- nortel, on 10/24/2009, -0/+5So, with 11 representations of systems across the galaxy does that meant that there will be 11 playable planets?
- Lunchbox37, on 10/25/2009, -0/+4R2D2 couldn't fly anymore because his warranty ran out.
- Tyrghast, on 10/25/2009, -0/+4Lance Henriksen sort of reminds me of the narrator from Homeworld.
- Mejari, on 10/25/2009, -0/+3The "Rule of Two" idea was put in place because of the fear Sith had of being betrayed by each other. Before that (and currently there is a resurgence) was the "One Sith" philosophy, which was basically as many Sith as they could get, acting as one (although for a group of treacherous douche-bags, that doesn't always end up so well).

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/One_Sith - chunkybeefstu, on 10/26/2009, -0/+3Sweet?
THIS IS BOTHAWUI! - Corona85, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2Cool a lot of this makes sense.
- chunkybeefstu, on 10/26/2009, -1/+3Because it is not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
Oh, and because it's the swiss-army-knife of weapons. - lamiaconfitor, on 10/25/2009, -1/+3recommendation, STEAM!
- kingmanic, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2I think it's less of the fact that the major ship yards were destroyed and more of the fact of a shift in focus. In peace time war machines become more decorative, more baroque. In wartime you need to mass produce them so extras like making a space fighter stream lined or chroming the exterior become unnecessary costs. From the films we have no idea about the relative cost and effectiveness of a x-wing vs some of it's predecessors. It may be they are nearly as effective but cheaper or more effective in some ways. They just are less chromed up.
- jstearns, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2Well, the rebels are portrayed as underdogs concerning manpower (how can 32(33) ships blow up the Death Star), so I would imply that they are technologically underpowered as well.
- Mejari, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2As for the droids thing, the rebels were poor and couldn't afford much, and the Emperor had a huge prejudice against droids, as well as any non-humans, so it's no shock that you didn't find many advanced droids in his service. I mean really, think back to 4,5 & 6. When did you every encounter anyone who was as rich as the trade federation, who could afford to have those types of droids, other than the Empire, who didn't want them? The originals never took you to any industrialized planets where such technology would be prevalent. Instead we get outer rim ***** that defintely couldn't afford anything nice.
Like Tyrghast said, the rebels' starfighters were whatever they could get. They got lucky with the X-Wing (It's designer defected to the Alliance and brought the plans with him), but until the B-Wing came around they didn't really have any designs to call their own and took whatever they could get. And the Empire just cranked out the cheapest fighters they could, even if their mortality rate was enormous, because they had billions of people they could throw into the cockpit. They eventually got better with the TIE-Defender, but for the most part they just threw waves and waves of crappy fighters onto whoever they fought and hoped to beat them down eventually. - CRAZYNICEdubs, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2Real Life Example

http://damox.com/cars/thumbs/Delorean/1981_Delorea ... - Lunchbox37, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2(Although I'm sure the answer is no) Has BioWare said anything about a release window for this? I've been following it for a while, but I don't want it to turn into another Dragon Age where it takes 5 years to make.
- iceregulus, on 10/25/2009, -1/+3Indeed. If you just go out and buy it as CDs, you may pay more, and you might spend a while trying to get it to work on OS's that aren't XP. On Steam, it's cheaper, and will work just fine.
- lamiaconfitor, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2dammit.. now I have got to pay the monthly fee... fizzuchk.
- velveetaavenger, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2It's insinuated in lots of the books that a whole bunch of old republic technology is lost after the emperor takes over, even before the prequels came out. Plus the prequels show way more of the core worlds like Corucscant, which are far richer and more technologically advanced then rim worlds are.
- reddfox321, on 10/25/2009, -0/+1Yeah, you've got to figure the ships the Naboo Queen flies in is probably more for show than utility. The prequels show the falling of a Republic and the birth of an all encompassing Civil War. In the new movies you see the civilian side of things, in the originals you see Rebels, Imperial soldiers, etc.
The TIEs and X-Wings are pure vehicles of war with little for frills, panels taken off for quick repairs and modifications. And Han's ship is the equivalent of a junker van (that just so happens to be the fastest). - Perk, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1Or it could be that special effects technology and CGI advanced dramatically between 1977 and 1999. That and George Lucas's bad acid trip in 1988 would explain why the technology in the earlier (later) time period is "shinier".
- Krissam, on 10/25/2009, -0/+1dugg for wookiepedia!
- Eunonia, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1Well, this game will be the biggest competitor to Star Trek. So by doing these vids, they hope to get more people to play the game. I want to play them both.
- utopiannative, on 10/25/2009, -0/+1Ever play the Star Wars: Warlords mod for Homeworld 2?
Fan-tastic - Lunchbox37, on 10/25/2009, -0/+1Wow, that just kept goin', didn't it?
- haid, on 10/26/2009, -1/+2Yeah in the hands of a Jedi a light saber is a weapon, shield, and ricochet device.
- sipsyrup, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1Will this only be on xbox and pc, or will it be on ps3 as well?
- frozenwalkway, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1needs liam neeson
but this guy is good - lamiaconfitor, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1plus the DRM goes to any computer you use you account on... meaning if you are an vacation at a friends house, log on, download and play your game.
- TrueBlueJP90, on 10/26/2009, -0/+1And they're shiny, can't forget about the shiny,
- JackSrenton, on 10/30/2009, -0/+1you sir, know nothing of star wars fandom.
- thizzlebot, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1good luck if your using vista.
- BrokenAnimator, on 10/25/2009, -1/+1It's a bum deal for the soldiers in that battle. The Jedi never die and just go back to the force, but the normal soldiers guys just die! Don't think they have as much incentive to fight.
I think the Jedi had the remaining republic army all under the influence of Jedi Mind control...this raises some moral issues that I hope Yoda will address. -
