It gives the game a longer life, keeps it bug free, fresh and exciting and gives the user value for money, which it seems is reflected in the popularity of their games. Valve, take a bow!

This is simply not the case - TF2 was a perfectly complete game when it was released, just with less polish than it has now (that's not to say it was unpolished - that would be a lie.

- KublaiKhan, on 08/20/2008, -1/+27As a player whose most-used class is Heavy, I now get to feel the despair that Medics and Pyros have already experienced: watching everyone and his mother run around as my beloved class, disrupting team balance, working toward achievements rather than map goals, and essentially just making things a real pain for a week.
On the other hand, I haven't played sniper in a while, and the time is ripe. - Zipko, on 08/20/2008, -0/+24Yeah, I think you can tell by their track record that they definitly don't rush games out the door for the sake of putting a product on the shelf. HL2 got delayed almost a year I think after their promised released date because they wanted to finish polishing it. EA probably would have just pushed it out 4 months before that date just so they could time it with holiday sales.

Its essential for retreating or harassing far away enemies (because the minigun makes next to no damage at far range because of spread)
P.S. and yes, its a replacement for the shottie. It even says so in the description... -
