    And also, what I would be interested in is a full conversion mod with what the original guy did but make it so you can play mario the same way as before, but in a 3d space like unreal.

    I mean, it's not really that impressive in the 3d world to make textures from 8bit games and make squares, etc
  • geartype2, on 04/28/2008, -0/+2modifying the camera isn't all that hard to do in unreal script. Changing the aiming system, now that's the hard part(which it looks like they also did) :D

  • xino, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1You're right. It's not impressive in that sense. What impresses me is that someone actually thought you could turn an FPS into a 2D Mario like game and actually did it well or at least from what I seen. I haven't played it yet.

    And I wouldn't say that just to get a guy, lol b/c I already have one. And when I said it was easy to make, I was taking about the art side b/c I have experience in unreal modding myself and 3d art and the stuff that he did is pretty easy to do.

    Being in a Mario World, playing UT3, as Master Chief....... my mind couldn't handle it!
    It was aweomse though! I wish the coins spurted out health :(
    But so far that's the best mod of the year. Way ahead of the lego one (IMO). It was actually really fun to play -- except the bots kicked my ass with their damn accuracy!

  • dansmeek, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1i disagree that that was an easy mod to make. and either way it is creative. and on top of that, it's not hard (well for some people) to make characters that are way cool. i have master chief, the dood from gears of war, metroid, and some other famous characters on mine. mario would be a piece of cake to make. it surprised the hell out of me (hadn't played UT3 in a while) that when I started the map, I was master chief. talks about..... forget it.
    anyway, what does "for the record... I'm female" mean? trying to get diggs from desperate nerdlingers who think they have a shot with you? haha. i'm onto you and your mischievous plans.
  • dansmeek, on 04/29/2008, -0/+1i was thinking.... if EA was Epic..... they would take this guy, hire him, and not just charge extra for the maps, but make a whole new game! it would be a 2D Unreal but with a EA like name. Unreal Sidescroll 08 - it's in the game. 59.99. maps $5 extra!
    modding is awesome, and i love and hope it continues to make a scene on the console platforms. and even though i'm not particularly fond of the 360 lovers (since they bash my ps3) i still would love them to get the ability to get mods in UT3. maybe epic can "sneak" it in somehow. it's so unfair and the 360 online community is even stronger than the PS3s. i one day envision a world where most console games can be modded.
