- Sornos, on 10/23/2009, -0/+76David Kim hasn't lost a battle report. Nerf David Kim.
- bbrassi, on 10/23/2009, -0/+66I could honestly see myself sitting on the couch on a Saturday afternoon watching Starcraft battles and listening to these announcers.
- falco217, on 10/22/2009, -3/+43HD: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/battle-report-st ...
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -3/+31Whoever said SC2 was gonna suck - well they were just flat out wrong.
- Legoman513, on 10/23/2009, -1/+26You mean like http://www.starcraft2.com/features/battlereports/4 ... ?
- jokerslayer, on 10/22/2009, -1/+22About damn time. I need my fix.
- fantheblaze, on 10/24/2009, -0/+20TERRIBLE TERRIBLE DAMAGE!!
- danconia, on 10/23/2009, -0/+20I'm not even that into Star Craft (2) but that was incredibly entertaining to watch.
- BigGooseX, on 10/23/2009, -1/+20Watching these videos is way more entertaining than actually playing the game. :)
- Legoman513, on 10/23/2009, -1/+19As of now it appears that LAN will atually be in the game, but ONLY after all players have first authorized through Battle.net. That way we get low pings, and Blizz gets anti-piracy. Seems fair enough. Except for the people with no internet...
- MercFH, on 10/23/2009, -1/+18Moar zerg battles plz
- Arrestedevelopr, on 10/24/2009, -1/+18Yup, this confirms it. I'm never playing this game online.
- isaacasimov, on 10/23/2009, -0/+17i love nukes.
- redfox2600, on 10/24/2009, -0/+15Can't he's Korean
- nextekcarl, on 10/24/2009, -0/+13I know, we watch him actually controlling a unit in a battle and when we get back to the base he has more buildings, but I didn't see where he could have gone back to give the command to start building them. That's probably why I'm not that great (and never will be) at SC. I just can't multitask like that.
- MrNonchalant, on 10/24/2009, -0/+12He's a "balance engineer" working on Starcraft 2. So he'd have to nerf himself.
- slicky803, on 10/23/2009, -2/+12My life for Aiur!
- Greyscale88, on 10/23/2009, -0/+9David Kim is all kinds of unfair. I bet that guy has ten fingers on one of his hands or something.
Anyways I need this game to come out...preferably after May of 2010 so it doesn't ruin me graduating college. - JiGMeister, on 10/24/2009, -1/+10Should have construct more pylon
- iborobotosis23, on 10/24/2009, -1/+10Or as this Korean guy puts it, "My lipe pur i-or!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rx4sOAt2EPM - unrequited, on 10/23/2009, -4/+13Please release this already... so we can start drooling over Diablo 3. (I liked the original Starcraft, but I'm 10x more excited for D3)
- ErrorLoading, on 10/24/2009, -0/+7South Korea has ESPN like channels showing this stuff 24/7. We have...uh....South Korea has TV.
- shicken684, on 10/24/2009, -0/+7Blizzard has never really been about graphics, but more about game play. They make it look decent, toss in some awesome in-game movies, and make sure the game runs as close to 100% as you can get it.
- baccart, on 10/23/2009, -2/+8thx for the link, better then the dodgy crap link in the original
- KAMiKAZOW, on 10/24/2009, -1/+6I'm sure that SC2 will be great, gameplay-wise. The legit version won't have LAN play, will be DRM-ridden, and even be censored is some territories, though.
It's sad to see that the company thinks those measures are required after SC1 was a huge success without DRM, copy protection, and even up to seven free "spawn installations" for LAN play. - Ryuuken117, on 10/24/2009, -0/+5You must construct additional pylons!
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -1/+6Those guys literally practice 8 to 12 hours a day. Strategy, micro, strategy, micro...it's like us trying to play Lebron in basketball. Complete insanity.
- Salif, on 10/23/2009, -3/+7Holy ***** these kids are good at this video game, when we have robot armies they're gonna take over
- laserjesus, on 10/24/2009, -0/+4there are tons and tons of similar videos out there for the original starcraft.
Just search broodwar english commentary on youtube and you'll have hours of stuff. - MonoDede, on 10/24/2009, -0/+4What's DaW?? Do you mean Dawn of War?
- inactive, on 10/24/2009, -1/+5It's a different climate now. Number one is that kids, in general, are not playing through LAN anymore. The only reasonable LAN experience I can think of is the college dorm. Nobody is moving their computers around (except for the most hardcore gamers). Also, cafes that offer SC2 play won't be able to have 8 PCs running on just one copy.
That being said, DRM sucks dinosaur balls. And the best memories of SC1 I have were during LAN play...I don't know, I'm kind of torn on the issue. They're going to suck every single bit of money they can out of us because they know we'll eat it up. I haven't gamed in 3 years (since I sold my xbox 360) and I will buy SC2 and I will waste many hours of my life playing it. It's that nostalgic feeling; I want to be 13 years old again! Such simple times...do your math homework, eat mom's great cooking, then play SC...those were the days. - Amenbea, on 10/24/2009, -0/+4His opponent is also Korean, it just means Yeon-Ho Lee has to step up his game.
- Dabek, on 10/24/2009, -0/+4Now reap the whirlwind.
- iborobotosis23, on 10/24/2009, -0/+3It might just be the quality of the video. I was able to see SC2 at PAX and it looked great. I've played a bit of the first DaW game and a fair amount of the second and only DaW is comparable. Even then I think SC2 has a bit more of an edge graphics-wise.
- yocouchdigga, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3It brings back so many memories, I think I'm going to replay the original.
- Ivallios, on 10/24/2009, -0/+3Though I know some don't, but unlike 10 years ago most people have access to the internet in a number of ways. If all they need to do is authorize through Battle.net once then most will be able to. Blizzard is working with the tools (the internet) that give them the best possibility of security for their product. That they have a right to, but at the same time cater to the public so they don't lose customers. It's a balancing act that many companies still haven't found a way for and Blizzard is actually new to (I don't count WoW as it's MMO category requires that it have a certain security format, log in online to play a purely online game.)
- Vosona, on 10/24/2009, -0/+3I think you will find that the Thor, in fact, is totally ***** badass.
- Shinku3, on 10/24/2009, -0/+3Maybe someday they'll release Starcraft II.
- slicky803, on 10/23/2009, -3/+6Also, before someone else says it: My wife for hire!
- dstz, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2Warcraft 3 was not punny in the graphic department, but indeed i'd take good gameplay over graphics or animations. But if we can have great animations, great graphics and great gameplay it's fine too.
i made myself want to play some more Arkham asylum right now, not sure why ;) - dstz, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2Yes... took a bad habit of calling it that way years ago (maybe because my computers are always DAWs) and now i always make the mistake. DoW, my bad.
- pussnuts, on 10/30/2009, -0/+2Oh yeah, david kim is a beast. The cool thing about SC2 is that the ranking system will learn your skill level and match you up with people who are at a similar level. So, even if you suck, you will be either playing with sucky people or new people. In theory you will win 50% of the 1v1 games.
- Quaestor44, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2CholeraSC does some good ones
- ry4nsm1th, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2Direct official link(good quality): http://starcraft2.com/features/battlereports/4.xml
- Arrestedevelopr, on 10/29/2009, -0/+2I can barely beat the AI, let alone a human.
- Expl0siv0, on 10/27/2009, -0/+2So if two Koreans play each other is it like an unstoppable force meeting an unmovable object? ;)
- johndoe77, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2We require more vespene gas.
- Red989, on 10/25/2009, -0/+2You don't have to look at the buildings to start queuing up more units and things like that. It's all hotkeys.
Granted, I can't do it at all - painting, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2you should be a game designer.
- pussnuts, on 10/29/2009, -0/+2If they had starcraft battles like this I might seriously consider getting cable TV again. But all they seem to do is cancel good television shows and have SPORTS TEAM, CITY NAME saturday/sunday football. I guess TV has a different market.
