(I supposing that's the war that led to the one master-one apprentice "rule"...but maybe it was the war before that where the Sith ruled for a time. Do we know a time frame?)

As for your point on the tech, yeah, Star Wars in general has a very static state of science. The improvements over thousands of years are pretty minor. This is probably related to the fact that you can't change too much of the tech and still keep the cool stuff like light sabres, blasters, and hyperspace.

I hated KOTOR because I'm not an RPG guy. But the back story it gave was absolutely amazing! Clone Wars is just pathetic compared to that.
