/s - caintrain, on 06/18/2009, -0/+8In the first KOTOR the trooper class was really good for the first few levels, but once you got jedi class the guns became pointless, not to mention there was a level cap and all those points were wasted on guns instead of sword combat.

Best crafting system in any MMO ever, oof - Bobby1978, on 06/18/2009, -1/+7What the industry needs are more open-ended MMOs, giving players the freedom to do whatever they want in the game-world. SWTOR, whilst interesting in its own right, does not allow this in any respectable way. From the sound of things, pretty much everything is scripted. Frankly I'm sick of seeing MMO after MMO follow the same stupid formula - linear level-based progression, group-focused activities, loot-oriented goals. What the industry needs is something like classic UO and original SWG. Granted both had some flaws, but the open-ended nature and depth those games granted players was unsurpassed, even today. Players can play solo if they wanted. They can even choose to play the game like those other MMOs. Capturing such wide and diverse demographics can only mean success. This freedom also almost guarantees long-duration fun and replayability - months, even years later.

- Deausx, on 06/18/2009, -0/+6One of the things I really hope to see in TOR is a solid achievement/trophy system. Something to do besides raiding at end game levels. Raiding can be fun, but when its done WoW style raiding becomes a lot closer to a job than "fun". Make collectables, timed events, exploration achievements, etc etc. Stuff to show off and have fun messing around with once you get your toon to the max level, however they do it.
I'd also recommend not going nuts on PvP at first. I've yet to see a single MMO where PvP was even remotely balanced and played as anything much better than a hacked together FPS.

- DoubtingThomas, on 06/18/2009, -0/+3I had a Bounty Hunter/Combat Medic with a dash of Pistoleer. The CM's grenades were nasty, just nasty! IIRC I could infect someone with a disease, poison them AND set them on fire all within about 5 seconds.
- Arseny89, on 06/18/2009, -1/+4The Republic Guard had nothing to do with this video, the Republic Guard was just a police force. And obviously its going to resemble the clone trooper armor, the clone trooper armor was based on the Old Republic Trooper armor.
If you haven't noticed yet, most things in the Old Republic were pretty much identical to the 19 BBY Republic ( Galactic Empire).
