- mengland, on 02/17/2009, -0/+74Can't build there. Something's in the way.
- infamousjr, on 02/16/2009, -17/+85I'm all for Starcraft but after seeing what WoW did to my Warcraft friends i'm staying away from all MMO games.
- inactive, on 02/17/2009, -8/+73Blizzard has already stated that their next-gen MMO will have nothing to do with the Diablo, Starcraft or Warcraft series.
- Daemastrius, on 02/17/2009, -8/+65Blizzard has been known to change its mind about things it says will never happen.
- dagnabbit, on 02/17/2009, -4/+49In before "Nuclear Launch Detected"
- gasin, on 02/17/2009, -5/+50Damn Straight. MMOs don't ***** people up. Dangerous minorities with guns do.
- kyle5000, on 02/17/2009, -0/+37I still have Starcraft: Ghost preordered.
- somnus, on 02/17/2009, -1/+33Just build on top of some human rights!
- kingofthisnight, on 02/17/2009, -5/+34I agree. MMOs don't ***** up your life. You do. I play WoW daily. Yet I also work two jobs, get my studying done, and exercise daily.
- Radan, on 02/17/2009, -0/+28Only three players per server, and they will have to take turns moving.
- Rudegar, on 02/17/2009, -1/+28world of 3 vikings? :)
- h4k0r, on 02/17/2009, -4/+26I second that, I have played WoW since it came out, yet I still have time to take care of real life *****. It's just something I'll play when I'm board or my fiance` is working on homework or at school.
- Tyrghast, on 02/17/2009, -1/+23Blizzard is a fickle bitch, in all likelihood this has nothing to do with an actual game they're making, they're just trying to get it registered before someone else steals the title from them.
- vawksel, on 02/17/2009, -0/+21Even Diablo I/II and (soon) III have grind in them. You grind dungeons for exp to level and gold to buy items from other players. "Damn, I need 200 gold, better go start grinding".
It's a little different than WoW, but I can't imagine any MMO not having a grind to it. - ManaByte, on 02/17/2009, -0/+19This would never happen, as the entire country of South Korea would shut down from the lack of human interaction.
- CoreyTamas, on 02/17/2009, -0/+19Dude... the team that makes Starcraft II and the team that works on MMOs are two different teams. Put your diaper back on.
- Harabeck, on 02/17/2009, -1/+18What are you smoking? China can't say what Blizzard can or can't make. This just means they have to change the name in China.
- J0hnnyBlaze, on 02/17/2009, -3/+20Nuclear Launch Detected
- sexualwasabi, on 02/17/2009, -4/+21Hmm a FPS mmo, I like the idea of that much more then a World of WarCraft in space
- BaoUnit, on 02/17/2009, -2/+18My life for Aiur
- phoi, on 02/17/2009, -0/+13China's doing the right thing, ghosts are really scary.
- CoreyTamas, on 02/17/2009, -3/+15I have been following this pretty closely and have never seen that.
Can you show me a source? - Daemastrius, on 02/17/2009, -3/+14World of Warcraft in space you say? What an horrible idea! They might as well throw in some aliens as well if they did that!
*cough* Outland and Draeni *cough* - Sillywombat, on 02/17/2009, -3/+13Aww, cute. Its been a while since i havent heard THAT rumor.
- meruru, on 02/17/2009, -1/+11How would that even work? All players are the same level with the same equipment? "Grind" is a neccessary evil; It rewards those that put time and effort into the game.
- LightUrple, on 02/17/2009, -0/+8ZING!
- inactive, on 02/17/2009, -8/+16MMO is like drugs man... it seriously ***** up your life.
- donkevin, on 02/17/2009, -0/+8Hasn't it already been announced that it's (their new MMO is) set in a NEW universe? I remember reading this somewhere.
- Harabeck, on 02/17/2009, -0/+8Why do people keep saying diablo mmorpg as if it doesn't exist? It's called WoW. Seriously, look at the classes, spells, and skill trees. There's a lot of stuff from diablo in warcraft.
- grahag, on 02/17/2009, -0/+7One person's pissing away is another person's hobby. As long as they're not neglecting their kids or spouse and the bills are getting paid I think it's absolutely fine.
It shouldn't be anyone's business what I do with my free time. I don't tell people they're pissing away their lives racing cars or collecting stamps or scrapbooking, so people should keep their nose out of my business.
It's my free time, I'll do with it what I want. Even if someone views it as pissing it away... - moonasha, on 02/17/2009, -4/+11Look, moar bandwagoning by people who've never played mmos!
Don't blame the symptoms people. I've played WoW since early 2005, and I've gotten into a wonderful college and am maintaining a 3.7 GPA. And it's not just WoW, I've seen people waste their time away watching anime.
And *****, it's their time to waste, if they have a better time playing a game than spending time with you, that's saying something about your relationship. - diggduggDOOM, on 02/17/2009, -0/+7Rock n' Roll Racing Online!
- diggit83, on 02/17/2009, -0/+6Spawn more overlords
- ezcheezbandit, on 02/19/2009, -0/+6Boo this Man.
BOOOOO! - ociris, on 02/17/2009, -0/+6no... it just means that the whole country would have to setup their businesses and gov functions in the world of starcraft.
problem solved. - jgtg32a, on 02/18/2009, -0/+6WoW is not an Addiction. I used to suck dick for EQ. Now that's an addiction. You ever suck some dick for WoW?
- Solarus755, on 02/17/2009, -0/+6Before they can churn out the chinese gamer base, they must construct additional pylons.
- hollismb, on 02/17/2009, -0/+5You should get your five/ten dollars back. Just think, with interest... you'd be set! (Kidding).
- Harabeck, on 02/17/2009, -0/+5Different demographics there, Sci-fi fans would go to SC, fantasy would stick with Wow.
- EdgarVerona, on 02/17/2009, -0/+5This seems most likely to me as well.
They've been dragging companies through the mud trying to get them to make Starcraft: Ghost for years.
Nihilistic, for example, had to do five complete rewrites of the entire game (turning it into five completely different types of game) at Blizzards' request so that they could see how it would work in a variety of play styles. After the fifth one, they pulled the project and pushed it on another company... supposedly doing the same thing to them as well.
Blizzard's just never going to be satisfied with the work of third party companies it seems. They're going to have to either make it themselves or not make it at all... and I get the feeling that the latter is the case. - Balcifer, on 02/17/2009, -1/+6Because they are on multiple worlds.
- iancgi, on 02/17/2009, -0/+5I doubt it blizzard said repeatedly its a new franchise game has nothing to do with the old ones. In this case starcraft ghost will not be their new MMO
- CoreyTamas, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4Is it the name that's bothering you?
- marine63, on 02/17/2009, -2/+6starcraft online...
"Hell... It's about time." - SumoSniper, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4And in the minds of boring people, time and effort means endless repetitive grind.
Go play a good, fantasy MUD. Go play an old adventure game. Stories, quests, puzzles that exercise the mind. Grind is NEVER necessary. For a couple of upcoming games that should feature minimum grind, look out for Darkfall, a fantasy morepig which is being released later this month, or Earthrise, a Sci-Fi one being released later this year. Both are player-skill based and thus you don't grind for experience to increase skills, you practice. There is a huge difference. The former means you do boring work so you can hopefully do better stuff later (you know, like your job). The latter allows you to use your talents to their full extent from the beginning and advance them naturally. Like anything else fun in life. - wonkavsn, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4Starcraft online??
Imagine that... - bassist2528, on 02/17/2009, -2/+6World of Sucky Comments?
- magneon, on 02/17/2009, -0/+4Eve is very fascinating and complex, but I'd hardly call it a game. It's kind of an alter-ego or a second job. Fun, maybe, but not your typical MMO.
