- mkolleen, on 02/13/2008, -1/+56Am I the only one who fears that penis shaped creatures will be the cockroaches of Spore?
- zdiddy85, on 02/13/2008, -0/+49What an amazing idea. So when the game does launch, all of the content they'll need to fill it will already be created!
- chadmurray, on 02/13/2008, -0/+39lets get this download going ... i cant wait to get my hands on this game... kudos to EA for the mac support!
- Twenty, on 02/14/2008, -1/+29dugg for '*****'roaches.
- Murdats, on 02/14/2008, -1/+19it would be quite interesting to have a multibladed creature run up and tear a giant running penis appart
- dafragsta, on 02/14/2008, -1/+14So? If he works there, big deal. Kyle Bennett has submitted almost every story from HardOCP. It doesn't make it shady or wrong to submit your own stuff. I've submitted everything I've written personally.
- whiteknives, on 02/14/2008, -0/+13Time to build my army of flying spaghetti monsters!
- mentallyinhell, on 02/13/2008, -1/+11It's all about the hype. And yet I still want it...
- Vidd, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8Yes.
- ydt89, on 02/14/2008, -0/+8man am i a dumb ass
- sERIALeATER, on 02/13/2008, -3/+11***** you?
- omnithought, on 02/13/2008, -0/+7That's awesome! And mean! I'll have my minions, but just won't be able to do anything with them.
- phillipj06, on 02/13/2008, -5/+11Anyone else notice that Rosco24 posts every article on Joystiq?
- LogicBomB, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7Tribal is a lesser stage of development. Just because some people practice it doesn't make it wrong, however it IS less advanced. Were the people who lived hundreds of years ago lesser people? No, but they couldn't drive from a to b either.
Take your sensationalist ***** and bring it someplace else. There's nothing wrong with depicting a tribal stage before an industrial one and then a space one. How the ***** else did you want them to do it? Skip it entirely? Stop at tribal? Common... - jls33fsls, on 02/14/2008, -1/+7Too bad the game won't be on Xbox 360.
- MrDeflok, on 02/13/2008, -0/+5Can't wait for this now. I let myself ignore it up until now but since the release date announcement and after watching all the 'walkthrough' videos on GameTrailers.com I need this game hooked up to my system like an IV drip.
- alexonix, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5Indeed.
- Saea, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5I hope that the creature editor will be free.
- HouseofEl, on 02/14/2008, -0/+5I really am a casual gamer. I have a 360 and ps2 but I only play them so much. So please forgive my ignorance about this...Is this game really supposed to be that good? I'm not trying to argue something. I sincerely have no idea.
- Vostok, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4The level of joy I just felt can not be property expressed in words!!!
- Wartz, on 02/14/2008, -0/+4I agree.
- dafragsta, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5So what you're saying is... it's hard to overstate your satisfaction?
- freebirdpat, on 02/14/2008, -1/+5Aperture Science
- Tamriel, on 02/13/2008, -0/+4I recommend you read a book by Jared Diamond called Guns, Germs, and Steel. It dispels that myth on multiple accounts. Living in tribes or chiefdoms has nothing to do with being superior or inferior. You're bound to get buried to hell because of your comment, but I really think you do have a point there somewhere.
- InkyHLV, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3if the editor is as in depth as I've been told it'll be, the creature editor will be able to entertain me for a good while
- theNazz, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3I think I'm going with the 'Vulvarians' ... Oh this game is going to get nasty!
- phillipj06, on 02/13/2008, -1/+4I learned this at Macworld in January. FYI spore will be on Mac too. So no need to digg that in 2 months too.
- Blandyman, on 02/14/2008, -0/+3Indubitably.
- Bishoco, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2They are working on a Wii version. No word on when it is coming out. They are working on incorporating the Wii controller into the game.
- mortigon, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Not just blacks in Africa lived in tribes...
Amazingly, there are asians and whites living in tribes too! As a matter of fact, we could probably go down the list of races, pick one, and find a tribe somewhere made up of that race! - beckerist, on 02/14/2008, -0/+2Eh the perfect shape for my animal is already in my mind, and the best part, it's the most effective thing to whip those cockroaches into shape!
What is that shape you might ask? Let's just say Georgia O'Keefe hasn't seen a REAL flower yet! - zarand, on 02/14/2008, -1/+3Wow, looks like someone didn't quite think his/her comment all the way through. Have you even heard of this game before today?
- BrianSaysHi, on 04/24/2008, -0/+1lol As if Dreamache... This has news been out for a couple of weeks, but its true though this news is old!!!!
C u on xspore - Blandyman, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1I guess dubbing it an SKU might give you that idea, and I know you're hoping your wrong about your suspicions. Regardless, we'll just have to wait and see... but yes, charging for DLC & cheats already on the disc is ***** nonsensical.
- asforme, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1It won't be and I don't want it. I'll bet it would have been out a year ago if they didn't decide that it would be a good idea to make a DS and portable version. Games like this just have too many things to do with anything less than a mouse and keyboard.
- ydt89, on 02/14/2008, -2/+3Any word of a release on Wii? Or its going to be strictly computer?
- mookieXL, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Export to .3ds please.
- LogicBomB, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Who said anything about DNA? Tribal is about lifestyle & knowledge, both of which being less advanced than current times. You could go back in time, grab a caveman and raise them to drive a car if you wanted to, that doesn't mean that the rest of their kind don't live in hollowed out rock and ***** in the woods.
- bonkeykong, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Burial Complete.
- inactive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1this is about a game with evolving DNA if i understood it correctly.
- Appox, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Cheers EA
- Blandyman, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1The Sims had a "Body Shop", too. A game also created by Maxis.
It didn't cost money.
I can understand how you'd think EA would charge for it, but don't just assume *****. You know what happens when we assume, don't you? - MindStalker, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1hmm nice video, I predict economy will go in the crapper once this game is released. And you thought WOW was a drain on productivity...
HE conspiracy nut in me wants to know if this is intended to throw off the election! :) - Bishoco, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1If it does cost money, hopefully it will be $10 and comes with a $10 off coupon for the full game.
- KingEmperor24, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1EA also did this for the Sims 2 (called The Sims 2 Bodyshop I think)-from a sales standpoint it does help build hype, not that this game is lacking in that regard.
- bagboyrebel, on 02/14/2008, -1/+2oh come on, I loved portal but it's not even relevant.
- ChooChoo3000, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Does anyone know specs of the machine you'll need to run this? It doesn't look that graphically advanced but it'd be good to know what the minimum is going to be.
- Draakan, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Just watch this.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8372603330 ...
It will answer all question of how good it is. And that is an old video. It has only gotten better. - inactive, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1Actually, I think after the countless delays, Spore could use a bit of extra hype, as absurd as it sounds.
- samfishercell, on 02/14/2008, -0/+1I didn't say there were. In fact, I even said that I was hoping I was wrong about my suspicion. But, this is also the company that tried to charge us for "DLC" and "cheats" that were already on our game discs. Not only that, but the way they dubbed it an SKU is also a little odd to me. I expect this to be free, but with EA's actions lately, I'm wondering if it actually will be.
