- WendyThomas, on 09/19/2008, -6/+80Don't say that too loud or it WILL be a Pixar character before you know it. Because there aren't enough bug related animated movies out there...
- xbxoxy1, on 09/20/2008, -1/+69behind that cute smile and anime eyes is a merciless assassin
- Sornos, on 09/19/2008, -2/+61Aye, 'tis cute when you be bigger than it, but should ye be insect, that face be the last thing ye want to see. That "smile" tis the beginnin' of the fiercest chompers on a set a wings this here salt has ever seen.
- etruscan, on 09/20/2008, -0/+39When we start titling photographs of nature based on what they vaguely look like in a video game - the world is *****.
- SpookyDIGG, on 09/20/2008, -1/+35I took this with my Olympus E510 at 300mm, he was all serious until he killed the photo shoot by pulling this stunt.

Your head - Sabretou, on 09/20/2008, -1/+16The creature looks like it was made with the Creature Creation Tools included in a recently released video game by Maxis and EA, titled "SPORE".
At least to the submitter. - UnterDenLinden, on 09/20/2008, -1/+16Hmm, with this herbivore, I'm well on my way to a T3.
- skribble, on 09/20/2008, -0/+14Dugg up. for pirate speak.
- zigardne, on 09/20/2008, -0/+13that would suck if that was your super hero power
- TheCamino, on 09/20/2008, -1/+14
As a pro photographer, I'm seriously doubting that statement from the lens characteristics alone.
If the lens is small, like on a camera phone, then that flare in the background would destroy the contrast in that photo. - inactive, on 09/20/2008, -1/+14http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?The_littl ...
sony ericsson K800i :) - NerveBand, on 09/20/2008, -2/+15You guys have never used a Sony Ericsson have you? Well, the k800i has customizable Camera Drivers that allow you to manually control the focus before taking the picture. Also, the default Macro mode is damn impressive so best believe it. I definitely can believe the resolution and the focus. I have taken great pictures with that phone and for those who don't believe me, check out the Flickr images:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K800i - MidnightRIder77, on 09/19/2008, -1/+14Maybe he's an advertisement to some unannounced "Dragonfly Movie" starring someone that was in a popular sitcom years ago.
- kelowna4life, on 09/20/2008, -0/+12You can get this phone in America the k790
- mattlohkamp, on 09/20/2008, -0/+10Damn nature, you - kinda cute, actually.
- Days, on 09/20/2008, -0/+8Gaming? Really?
- Scruffo, on 09/20/2008, -1/+8This picture has nothing to do with Spore. I like the title from the linked article better: "Happy dragonfly".
- ricopicouk, on 09/20/2008, -0/+7N95 fanboy. Hrmm..
Look at any great photo and he remarks.. - 'Looks to me like the pic was taken on a Nokia N95.'
Anyway, I would really like to know what camera phone took this picture, because i agree It looks wicked - deboerpa, on 09/20/2008, -0/+6Given our level of control over this planet cuteness has been pretty successful for a while now.
- MidnightRIder77, on 09/20/2008, -0/+5I'm confused. I was referencing Bee Movie with Jerry Seinfeld. What the ***** are you talking about?
- lifegamer, on 09/20/2008, -0/+5but the real question is... will it blend?
- 0ceanic, on 09/20/2008, -0/+4could meta data be useful?
- hinmanj, on 09/20/2008, -7/+11Damn nature, you scary!
Oh wait... - svensksvamp, on 09/20/2008, -0/+4damn! I hate when this happens
- AparoidX, on 09/20/2008, -0/+4That's a cool picture and all (really, the dragonfly looks like it has a funny face), but how does this relate to Spore OR Gaming at all?
- UnterDenLinden, on 09/20/2008, -0/+3I lol'd
- pigfister, on 09/20/2008, -1/+4you are getting dug down by EA bloggers but the truth is out.
lets all search google "spore drm"
http://www.google.co.uk/search?client=firefox-a&rl ...
just to see how EA are ***** you all up the arse and killing the second hand market by using the "fear of terrorists, oops i mean pirates"!
go get the WMD's EA - pondlife, on 09/20/2008, -0/+3Could it just be a fluke as many great photographs are? I've asked the following questions on the blog - which camera phone? Does it have a macro setting?
It truely is a very good photograph :) - UnterDenLinden, on 09/20/2008, -0/+3you're welcome
- iceysan, on 09/20/2008, -0/+3I don't understand the Spore relation, but it's an awesome specimen.
- paulishuku, on 09/20/2008, -0/+3Have you ever been to a UK cell phone site? Just about every phone over there has higher specs than any phone in the US. The N95 just keeps up with the UK phones.
As far as the iphone being the most advanced phone in the world.. Are you serious? The N95 alone smokes the iphone out of the water. Granted I have an iphone, but there are phones that can heavily out-perform it. Hence the successful launch of the iphone 3G in japan. =/ - qster, on 09/20/2008, -2/+5:]
- Xproject01, on 09/20/2008, -1/+4i like the part where its smiling
- AelitaMoon, on 09/20/2008, -0/+3It'll blend, but can it run Linux?
- Ibox, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2No...
- Ibox, on 09/20/2008, -2/+4Gimped'
- calebh, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2It's not that hard to destroy an empire in the civ stage, just drop 1 or 2 megabombs on their cities.
- GawtMilk, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2Well, I could be wrong. The Telegraph has the same photograph, at their website. They also say it was taken on a camera phone.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howabou ...
The photo on that website has an even tighter crop than the one shown in this article.
EDIT: I'm amazed. Look at the "eyes" of the dragonfly. You can clearly make out the reflection of the phone. Whatever phone it is, it has a larger sensor than my piece of crap free Nokia. - 88chrisb, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2I have a K800i and the camera is pretty decent. Not sure if it is THAT good though.
- alphaterminus, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2thinking not thingking... I thingk my left index finger had a spasm.
- breemode, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2Front page of digg? MMMK, The best part is everyones more interested in the camera phone used than the goofy looking dragon fly
- alphaterminus, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2While fishing as a 10 year old, I remember thingking, "What is it with dragonflies having '3-ways' while flying?" (Keep in mind no Interwebs in 1982 and my only education was Brook Shields in the Blue Lagoon.) Don't Pedobear me, I was 10... but ahhhhh Brook Shields in the Blue Lagoon...
- inactive, on 09/20/2008, -10/+12Oh hai!
(Had to, sorry) - GawtMilk, on 09/20/2008, -0/+2There is not enough depth of field for it to be a camera phone picture. Even at macro ranges, because the sensors are so small, there wouldn't be as much blur as there is in the picture. It could very well be a point and shoot, though - but it isn't a camera phone.
